Academic Flexibility: It is much easier than I ever thought it would be. I was undecided on the focus I wanted for the first few years, and kept calling to change my major. My academic adviser never got annoyed with me and handled everything as if it only took a click of her mouse.

Online Courses: I prefer online courses, as I can choose to learn the information and contribute to classroom discussions at three in the morning if I want to.

Student Body: An Ashford classroom seems to have at lease one representative from each nationality. I learn a lot, not only from the educational content, but from observing and communicating with other students.

Academic Flexibility: This was not my first choice of schools. I had chosen another school, but received a call from Ashford and changed my mind. They were very patient and informative. I have had very good experiences so far with any questions I have had regarding school or financial aid. I am also very pleased with the class structure, I will be able to double up on classes during my off seasons at work. Which will allow me to graduate ahead of schedule.

Academic Flexibility: Even though, I am a single parent and I have those moments where I cannot complete assignments on time . My instructors are very understanding and they work with me as issues arise. I am so grateful for the flexibility because I would not be able to complete my education otherwise.

Online Courses: Online coursed are teaching me what I need to know in my selected field. However, instructors are inconsistent in workloads and grading. Every instructor seems to have a different opinion of APA formatting and I had a MATH instructor criticize me on APA formatting. Seriously? I was solving math problems. Inconsistencies from instructor to instructor is what I find the most aggravating.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think the tuition is too high but it seems to be comparable. I just do not think one should have to pay over 50,000 for a 4 year degree. The financial aid process has been relatively smooth and easy.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
