Overall Experience: The quality of courses is top-notch. Some of the classes are a challenge for me, having been out of school a number of years, but I am determined to succeed. Thus far, I have received only A's and B's and have made the Dean's List Once again, I am in an online English degree program.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Need more money. My financial aid package only covers about half the cost per year. I will end up owing $5,000 per year, for a total of $10,000.

Academic Flexibility: My chosen college, Ashford University, is an online degree program. Great flexibility-I can work and take classes at the same time. The online degree program works great for me, because there are no colleges in western Wyoming, where I live.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
