Academic Experience: Some professors were difficult to deal with by changing requirements of assignments and discussions. The workload is fairly easy and the curriculum is consistent with the degree program.

Career Services: I haven't had the chance to use the career services at my school yet, but have heard good things.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I'm not sure if the tuition is worth the education I have received. The financial aid process was easy, just a matter of filling out the correct forms and getting them sent in on time.

Academic Flexibility: I was in a situation where I was in the transition of changing jobs and I started getting backed up on my school work. I let my instructor know why I wasn't turning things on time and they worked with me on getting my work in so I wouldn't fail.

Overall Experience: Even though I do not have an option to compare it to, Ashford has been a true pleasure. Virtual classrooms are very user friendly, and they take it easy on newbies, at least for the first four courses or so. I would choose them again if I had to start over.

2 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: It's expensive, but I knew that going in. There is a very unexpected $1200 registration fee upon initial signup. That hurt!

Academic Experience: The text books designed specifically for Ashford University are lacking a lot of valuable information, sometimes. I usually have to do additional research to grasp an understanding of the concepts.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: Courses are rigid, instructors are strict, and the work is very difficult, at times. But at the end of each course, I feel like I've just climbed a huge mountain! It's a challenge, but a very good challenge.

3 College Junior

Campus Quality: I have only seen the campus once, so I cannot accurately rate this aspect.

3 College Junior

Career Services: I have not utilized these features as often as I should, but they do make a big effort to include me every time. I am constantly getting invitations in my inbox.

5 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: It is much easier than I ever thought it would be. I was undecided on the focus I wanted for the first few years, and kept calling to change my major. My academic adviser never got annoyed with me and handled everything as if it only took a click of her mouse.

4 College Junior

Online Courses: I prefer online courses, as I can choose to learn the information and contribute to classroom discussions at three in the morning if I want to.

5 College Junior

Student Body: An Ashford classroom seems to have at lease one representative from each nationality. I learn a lot, not only from the educational content, but from observing and communicating with other students.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I could not ask for anything better.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I love it the staff is very helpful

5 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I love the online classes.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
