3 College Junior

Online Courses: Discussions are a major waste of time; however, I have learned quite a bit from the assignments and required reading.

Overall Experience: Most of my professors have graded assignments and provided feedback in a timely manner; however, some were unclear in their individual feedback responses.

Overall Experience: I do not have any experience with this since I am completing my degree out of interest in this field and not for occupational progression at this time.

Overall Experience: I believe that this school is fantastic for those unable to attend college in person. It has been easy to delay courses and work around my schedule due to my military service. I cannot comment on the brick-and-mortar campus as I have never attended Ashford in person.

Academic Flexibility: As long as you meet attendance requirements, you can go to class whenever it's convenient for you.

Online Courses: The worst thing about them is all of the writing you do. There's a lot more writing than in campus classes. However, it's also very flexible. I can go to class in the middle of the night if I have to.

Academic Experience: I haven't really gotten into my core courses yet, but if they follow the ones I'm in then I think it will be great.

Overall Experience: Once enrolled, they lay out your classes for you, according to your degree, so you don't have to figure it out. The first class you take is about learning, how to do it, how you do it, and turning it into success. Each class is 5 wks long, but you only take one class at a time, This way, instead of having 4 classes to juggle and study for, you can concentrate on just one class at a time. This is especially helpful for students who have ADHD.

Online Courses: I think applying to Ashford versus the other school I previously attended was fairly easy. I think the work load can be a lot if you procrastinate but, if you schedule yourself enough time to do what you need to do, you will not have any problems. As stated before the instructors are awesome I could not ask for ones that are any better.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I had one professor previously that did not speak English very well and she always made how-to videos and it was very hard to understand her. However, I managed to still pass the class but, I think Ashford could have done a little bit better with helping her teach her class.

Other than that all of my instructors were awesome. Not another complaint. They responded to my emails on time, assisted me when I needed assistance, and have did an exception job grading my work on time.

Academic Experience: I switched programs at the beginning and I have not taken that many classes so far so I do not really know how everything is besides those few classes. I feel that some instructions could be made more clear but, if you ask your instructor to assist you with understanding they usually will.

Overall Experience: I have only taken about four classes at Ashford so far and I absolutely love it! The instructors are extremely helpful and all of the students are nice as well. I also enjoy the five week courses because, they save a lot of time for me instead of taking 12+ week courses.

Overall Experience: I enjoy attending Ashford. The classes are only five weeks. My education advisor continually emails me and checks on me to see how I'm doing in my class. By my advisor doing this, it shows me that the school cares.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
