Academic Experience: I am currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program. I so far really enjoy this program and have found all my classes challenging but in a good way. They test my knowledge and allow me to learn new things through critically thinking.

Overall Experience: I really enjoy Ashford University so far. This is the first online college I have attended and so far I do not regret my choice at all. It has been an easy enrollment process, great enrollment advisor and academic advisors. Any question I have asked faculty here has been answered quickly and the answer is always knowledgeable.

Academic Flexibility: Flexibility was the main reason I decided to go with Ashford as online classes make it possible for me to attend school.

Online Courses: Workload is doable even when working. All online classes follow the same schedule (for the most part) and I'm well aware of what is expected on the first day of class. Peer-to-peer interaction is great in the discussion forums.

Overall Experience: Professors are great, they are always available via email to help. Class size is very small with my largest class having about twenty (20) students. Class style is great because I can read through discussions at my leisure when it's convenient for me.

Overall Experience: I haven't utilized the career services as I should, but I plan on beginning that soon. I already work full time so I won't be using them to obtain a position anywhere - I just want to make sure I'm taking the correct classes to fulfill the career path that I'm going to take.

Academic Experience: I am currently enrolled in a Business Information System major which will allow me to pursue a career in IT or Forensic Accounting. I have a minor in Accounting, as I am currently working in that field and have for 20 years.

Overall Experience: The online learning forum allowed me to go back to school and work full time while raising children. If I had to attend a physical classroom, I wouldn't be able to attend. There are no required lectures or any time that I have to schedule to be online. Deadlines are clear and usually similar from class to class and all are reasonable. Teachers offer a lot of good feedback and instruction.

Online Courses: On-line courses are the way to go if you have a full schedule with work and family. I am able to come home cook dinner and get into comfortable clothes to begin my 'day at school'. It was a challenge to find my groove in time management but I finally figured it out. The beauty of this non-traditional way of school is that you can enter the classroom 24/7 and work towards your degree in a customized fashion.

Academic Experience: My major is in Cognitive Studies. I wasn't sure which field or degree to pursue but after a great discussion of my likes, dislikes and hopes for my future, my admissions counselor helped me to decide. She listened and the courses so far fit like a glove. I am learning so much and I am impressed at how each chapter is like a one-brick-at-a-time method, and then you realize that it's building you up for the next level. That was a concern I had; wondering if I was still teachable at my age of 55. The workload can be a juggling act but they address techniques that can help you find your groove. The uniqueness of this curriculum is how you are introduced to the subject topic plus a side course of grammar, ethics, or life strategies are served on the side. It is like feasting on a well balanced meal and you can literally feel yourself being nourished with confidence and focus. As far as job opportunities they even have an option of intentionally planning for your future by taking assessment test/surveys along with possible jobs that would fit your specific personality. I plan on calling the career department after I complete all the steps advised so that I can be ready to discuss my results with the counselor. Ashford University strives to make you a successful individual in life and not just as a student.

Overall Experience: This is my first On-line course experience. It has far exceeded my expectations of what I thought it would be. My admissions person, Roxie, kept in close contact and it added the human touch that made me feel like I was attending a real campus. I was so impressed with the first course and how much it related to real life application. The instructors feedback and interaction are consistent, warm and relevant. Although I am a non-traditional 55 year old student, I am proud to report that after putting in the hard work, I was able to get an "A" on my first 5-week course! I would definitely attend this school again and I highly recommend it for anyone that has sat on their indecision of returning to school. How will you know 'if you can do it', if you don't try? You have nothing to lose because the first 3 weeks are a trial period where you get to try it on, and if it doesn't fit then you walk away with no cost to you.

Academic Flexibility: They are great at flexibility. I didn't have to say to my children I can't take you to your game. Mommy's stuff and school work is more important than yours. I can get my school work done and turned in before it is even due.

Online Courses: The workload in the typical classroom is a lot of reading and you basically have no clue what will be on tests or where to find the answers. Here at ashford they actually take the time to explain what they look for on tests and what you will be learning.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
