Campus Resources: From what I have read Ashford has a lot of great things to offer. I played basket ball in high school so I would join the team if I were on campus.

Tuition & Financial Aid: My school is making it so that I can go to school now and pay later. While I fear the prospect of paying back all that money, I am pretty positive in the ability to graduate with good grades and get a good job.

Overall Experience: I love my school. I love that my teachers work with me; I have two young kids in life and I no longer have to fear failing if life rears an ugly side of it's head. With a disabled child you just never know. My teachers and my staff are all very understanding and supportive. I have been to two online schools before this but Ashford totally takes the cake.

Campus Resources: The program has a very low tuition rate for online studies. This is beneficial to me because I live on a low budget and I work full time. The writing center is up to date with all the necessary items I need to complete an assignment. Everything is a at-the-student's-own-pace for less stress during quizzes.

Campus Resources: The Wireless computer program works about 99% of the time. This is mainly due to the fact certain network repairs are done on a monthly basis. Also, if I am not on the computer for 15 minutes, the program will kick me out, which is frustrating because I have to log back on every time.

Academic Experience: I have learned a lot since I have been with Ashford. Some of my favorite classes were film, Anthropology, and now I am enjoying my science class, "man's affect on our planet". So, yes, I have learned things that will help me for thr duration of my life.

Campus Resources: Not sure I just started school and I have not explore those areas online yet.

Academic Flexibility: I love the conveniece of working and and still be able to go to school online. I love the option of turning in work before 11:59pm, especially for nights I work late. Although its very challenging on those days when you have to type out a 6-8 page paper, for me it could be very difficult because I work 1 fulltime and 1 partime job to try to make ends meet.
My credits finally was applied after almost two months. It was fustrating waiting to see if I would be awarded or be approved to get more money from financial aid to help pay for my classes.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Financial Aid is very slow at getting information. I was told it would take me two weeks before getting my transferred credits applied to my account. Its been over a month. I honestly believe they need to give more accurate info and not just assume.
I was also very dissatisfied when I was told in the beginning of registering that I WAS GUARANTEED PELL GRANT, then after I registered for my first class a week later I was told I did not qualify. I stress to them in the beginning if I could not get a pell grant and loans I do not want to register for school because I could not afford to pay ANY MONEY out of my pocket because of my personal financial situation. Therefore, you can imagine how upset I was when I found out that I did not qualify for a pell grant, after they reassured me I would.

Academic Experience: I was very nervous about returning to school at the age of 40. Ashford made me feel welcomed and that I had already succeeded just by being motivated to continue my education. I am so proud of reaching my goal and I have Ashford to thank for that. My experience has been great, I got the help and support I needed.

5 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: the campus is inviting and has all of the services I would want in a college. I spent many years waiting to go back to school now I am hoping my daughter will attend Ashford as well.

Academic Flexibility: Administration and teachers are very flexible and have had more positive than negative experiences since starting Ashford

Tuition & Financial Aid: There seems to be a balance between the level of class and course material in relation so tuition cost. I do feel the tuition is a bit high as compared to the course materials and teaching received

3 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: It was simple to get the loans, but now with our current situtation I am unsure how I will be able to pay the loans back. I am hoping to get a deferment

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
