4 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: I have really had no problems. The only problem I had was did not receive the full pell grant money and did not understand why.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Classes are really flexible and able to do school work after work and caring for my little daughter.

4 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience: Very good job in this area. This are very kind and patient.

2 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I don't agree with the amount of money for the online course. I don't think that online courses should be so expensive. We are not going to a lecture or spending time in a classroom environment. Yes we do have teachers, but it would seem that they do not have to devote as much time to teaching an online course as a traditional professor would on a campus.

3 College Senior

Student Body: Classes are solely online, but reading introductory postings of classmates gives a little insight into my classmates. I have come across people from all over the world, all ages, and a variety of family life.

5 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: My learning experience has been wonderful at Ashford University. I have gained new knowledge, insight, and skills that will be a huge benefit for me when I pursue a new career in Counseling. The faculty, admissions, and students provide a very relaxing educational environment.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: The classes are generally average size. The work load is decent. The professors are educated in their subjects and take a real interest in asking us questions that relate to the topic of what we think. The fairness of grading is good. They stick to their grading curriculum.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I am going for HealthCare Administration. I just started 6 months ago and its going really well so far. Although, not having fasfa cover all the expenses is quite ridiculous if you ask me.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: I usually like most of my instructors. When they have rules and a curriculum to follow it makes sense, but when they are all different it doesn't make any sense. Sometimes the way they calculate the grade is frustrating, but with communication and reviewing everything gets done correctly.
I like that online everything is organized and it is all up to us how much we want to grow here.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: I am an online student therefore the computer network is crucial. The website works great. I can easily submit discussions, questions, visit library with a large database, and keep in touch with other e-mails with instructors. Technology is great!

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I love Ashford University for giving me just a flexible schedule. I am a single mom and a full time working person. Plus this was the only University with the major I was looking for, Applied Linguistics. I love what I am learning and I love the schedule.
I only wish I was a resident of Iowa so I can go to campus sometimes and meet my instructors instead of online.

1 College Junior

Campus Resources: They have a website. We must provide our own services. Some books are provided for us.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: There is not much campus life or a social scene for an online school. However they do offer numerous tools for students to use. Including a library which contains numerous scholarly search engines, detailed degree progress reports, and a career service which offers internships and helps prepare resumes.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: My classes are not what Iexpected, but I am learning things that I learned in the past.

4 College Freshman

Student Body: Mostly, my university consists of working-class people with part-time or full-time jobs. Most have families. They often juggle many different roles, in addition to being a full-time students. While they are happy to socialize and make friends, that is not their priority. They are getting and education, so that they can seek a different career, in order to better their lives (as well as their children's lives).

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: Sometimes when you email the instructor they forget or they don't until you write the email again

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: I dont use any of these so far at this school since i go online

5 College Freshman

Online Courses: They are pretty simple. and you can work around our own time. I like how I dont have to be in a classroom

5 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: They are great at helping you through the process. Detailed emails to walk you through.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Ashford University provides fast track courses that help with graduating in a timely manner without overloading their students. It is easy to get ahead in the courses.

Campus Resources: Ashford University has an online campus that is very easy to navigate. At times the library or portal is down but it does not take longer than a day to get it back up.

5 College Senior

Campus Resources: I think Ashford University's campus resources are convenient and easily accessible.

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: I chose Ashford because they are honest and they have teachers designed to understand the student.

5 College Freshman

Student Body: Everyone seems to be doiong their best so far, It's nothing really holding them back as far as other student making noise in class.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Attending Ashford online has offered me unprecedented flexibility. Without this kind of flexibility I would not have been able to attend. They transferred all qualifying credits from when I attended a traditional college in 1987-1988 without any problem or hesitation. I was only required to take and pass an English test to ensure I remembered enough grammar to participate at a college level. I love this school!

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
