Tuition & Financial Aid: I believe that I am getting a good education at my school but sometimes it worries me that we have no test and all we do is write papers for every class. Also I feel like for these classes I'm taking to be online and to be only 5 weeks long the tuiton is quite high.

Campus Resources: My school made getting my degree easy. Advisors always treated me like a person, not just another student. I liked the workload and the grading style. I enjoyed pushing myself to complete assignments on time and being focused on reading and writing.

Campus Resources: Advising is poor. Information is difficult to get and advisors have changed repeatedly in my time there.

Career Services: No career placement. They offer classes, and information about job hunting but that doesn't compare to other schools.

Online Courses: I really liked online courses. They were more focused on reading and writing and participating in discussion groups, all of which have always been my favorite parts of school. Some of my courses didn't even have tests and most only had the occasional 10 question quiz. I think that writing in the discussion groups helped me open up more than I might have if I had been talking in person. I didn't have to worry about someone cutting me off or having to figure out the best way to word something because I had time to re-read my responses.

Overall Experience: I think that online learning is not for everyone. The way that school was set up for me I was required to be very self-motivating and I had to do a lot of reading and writing. Fortunatley, I love to read and write and excell at both so Ashford was a great fit for me. I would go back again, but I did kind of miss not sitting in an actual classroom.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Overall, I was happy with the tuition and financial aid process. The only thing I didn't like was the one time technology fee.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I initially chose the school because it offered the least expensive tuition per credit hour. I got so much more than I anticipated.

Campus Resources: From what I have read Ashford has a lot of great things to offer. I played basket ball in high school so I would join the team if I were on campus.

Tuition & Financial Aid: My school is making it so that I can go to school now and pay later. While I fear the prospect of paying back all that money, I am pretty positive in the ability to graduate with good grades and get a good job.

Overall Experience: I love my school. I love that my teachers work with me; I have two young kids in life and I no longer have to fear failing if life rears an ugly side of it's head. With a disabled child you just never know. My teachers and my staff are all very understanding and supportive. I have been to two online schools before this but Ashford totally takes the cake.

Campus Resources: The program has a very low tuition rate for online studies. This is beneficial to me because I live on a low budget and I work full time. The writing center is up to date with all the necessary items I need to complete an assignment. Everything is a at-the-student's-own-pace for less stress during quizzes.

Campus Resources: The Wireless computer program works about 99% of the time. This is mainly due to the fact certain network repairs are done on a monthly basis. Also, if I am not on the computer for 15 minutes, the program will kick me out, which is frustrating because I have to log back on every time.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
