Tuition & Financial Aid: I like the program, but I think some of the classes are very repetitive. I feel like most of the criminal justice courses were a repeat of the one before. I had to write a paper about the same subject in three different classes. I also think the individual preferences of each teacher are difficult to learn. I have gotten docked points in one class because I used personal experiences, but then docked in the next class for not using personal experiences. I also think their books are far to expensive. When I enrolled, I was told that books were around $50-$60 per class. Most books are over $100! Their new online constellation program is nice, but the price for each online book is even more expensive than buying the actual book.

Online Courses: It's very unusual talking to people who I don't know. I enjoy there hospitality and friendly relationship. Possible topics include workload,professor/student relationship, and peer-to peer interaction.

Academic Flexibility: The main reason why I choose this school is because one of my classmate told me it is a very good school. The instructors are good and very helpful.

Academic Experience: There are many things that are offered at Ashford Univerisity, such as tutors, writing center, travel groups to different areas that you are able to receive credit for. The registraton process was very easy to do,with the help of the advisors as well.

Academic Experience: The Academic experience at Ashford University was exactly what I expected, the classes were not the overwhelming, yet you had to do exactly as it would state to do. The examples that were given were very understanding, and if you did not understand something the were willing to help you to comprehend the studies.

Student Body: My classmates are mostly adult learners. Some are deployed military, some are working with children, and all are here because of the flexibility of an online program.
There is a great diversity both ethnically and socially.

Online Courses: Most of my classes have been challenging and rewarding. The material is comprehensive, informative, and pertinent to the subject.
The professors have been, for the most part, highly accessible and more than qualified. The variety of experiences the professors have been through enable them to provide the students with a rich resource pool.

Online Courses: Online classes are great! You don't waste hours every week sitting in a classroom and listening to a lecture. You can study at your own pace and if you have questions the instructors are quick to respond. You can even email other students for more information or opinions.

Academic Flexibility: The online classes are easy to keep up with. With a baby it was hard for me to do school work every single day, so having to only check in three days a week was really great!

Career Services: I am not depending upon Ashford to help me find a job at this time. I am planning on homeschooling my son for a few years first.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I am sure the education I receive will be worth what I receive. I however am worried about the financial end of it; I am single mom of 4 kids and I was just hit by a teenager who hit me head on and caused me to have a broken socket in 5 spots and i have 16 weeks to learn to rewalk again. So I decided to not give up one morning and go back to school while I am recuperating. Hopefully through grants I can get some financial help.

Online Courses: An online class you need to be more disciplined and need to have more time on your hand at home. I was in a horrible head on car collision and I can not walk for 16 weeks so online is the only way that works for me, but still it is a very disciplined class and way to go through school.

Academic Flexibility: The assignment topics are discussed in the weekly readings and if you have any questions the instructors are always there to assist as best they can. Administration is very helpful and willing to assist in any way.

Academic Flexibility: It's very convenient. I only have 1 class to worry about for 5 wks and then I'm on to the next class. Most of my credits tranferred in as electives so now I only have my core classes and program classes before I earn my BA.

Academic Flexibility: I have had several life situations come up in the last two years. Ashford University has helped to accomodate with time I needed.

Campus Resources: Its Like Being on Campus – When I began on-line learning I thought it would be very boring, but to my surprise the staff make it interesting by the class participation done through our thursday discussions.

Campus Resources: Although I am an online student, I do make use of the online library. I gave it an a- because it is often difficut to know just what to type into the box in order to get papers on the subject I am researching.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I am happy with the money I am paying, but was misleaded when applying because I would told my financial aid would cover my expenses and now find that it does not. Currently, I am having problems with communicating with my financial advisor. Response and real conversation times are a little slow.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: The academic experience is better than most online classes. I get to focus on one subject for five weeks and then move on after the five weeks. I do not feel overwhelmed and it is a better learning experience. When I started my first class my advisor kept in contact through the whole five weeks. It helped me to stay on track and feel confident about what I was doing.

Career Services: Career Services at Ashford University helped me every step of the way. I was out of the work force for about 2 years and when I was faced with losing my unemployment benefits they helped me intensify my search for work. I had help with revamping my resume and interviewing techniques. They worked so hard to help me get the job I really wanted. All the hard work Career Services and I had put in finally paid off. I landed the job I have been wanting for so long, working with teens. Thanks very much.

Online Courses: When I was on campus. I had to get up and drive to school in bad weather and I was taking 4 classes at a time. Now I'm only taking one class at a time and that gives me the opportunity to concentrate on that one class and know that my grades will be good. I love online classes. I can go to school in my p.j's if I want to.

Academic Flexibility: My experience at Ashford was very heart warming when I transferred from my previous college to the university. It was easy to transfer my credits and my financial aid was okay. I didn't receive the money that I did when I was at the community college, but it's not about the money. It's about me getting my degree. I am very satisfied with my school.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: Everybody is nice and friendly and the professors take their time to make sure that every student understands each lesson.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: My specific major is going to be in Forensic Science. The curriculum so far looks great and the future courses looks promising.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: In all honesty, there has been on some occassion where there is a few professors are too down right strick with the students and the course work. I had one professor like that but, I got to work right up to his standards quite well, with little flaws but got throught it with flying colors. Other than that this school is just so wonderful and I would not ever think of changing school! So far every professor, staff, student advisor and others I missed has been exceptionally so supportive and wonderfully caring!
Thank you!

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
