Tuition & Financial Aid: They care and it shows - well most of the time. I did have an issue because they were revamping their system so it was a revolving door as far as advisors for a period of time. They really do try to make things as smooth as possible and keep things flowing.

Online Courses: There are pros and cons to both. I love the ability to enter the classroom on my time and terms. It allows me to take care of the other things that are important in my life. The workload seems to be about the same although there are more papers. I have always found the professors approachable. Peer-to peer interaction could be better.

Campus Resources: Well some unique things between WNCC and Ashford are that I had a counselor that I can talk to about anything especially when I need help with my classes I didn't have that back at WNCC.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I thought it was an okay process to go through, but the whole fafsa thing when you don't have something its kind of a pain in the butt because then I got to fax a lot of papers again and again.

Campus Resources: Well since I take online classes I think the computer system is pretty good at getting assignments to my professor, but I don't like the attendants thing where if I have done all my homework for the week I still have to pop in a post an assignment for like the next week; so I don't get a red flag on my account.

Online Courses: The student advisors are a bit difficult to contact and take far too long to respond to questions. Classes are relatively easy and the convenience of working on assignments at my own pace was refreshing.

Online Courses: The work is hard as are in a traditional college. You must be dedicated and proud of your study and reserch. The key for a good grade here is proper research and deep answer in discussions. The use of short and inconsise answer will affect your grade so to prevent that a student must be dedicated and research.

Campus Resources: Being that all my school work is online there has been only one time in two years that I actually had a problem. Even then the tech support had it fixed within five minutes. Libraries are updated when people are not using them so much and we are notified in advance several times when the library will be down.

Campus Resources: Being online I do not know much of the brick/mortor facility, however as far as the online library, resume workshops, outreach center and other groups they are very friendly. You can always ask questions for help, videos for class materials are of great quality as well.

Online Courses: Working mother who works and can only go to school is very effortless. Although, the classes have very demanding work I am engaging with people of all different cultures and thought processes that I would otherwise miss out on. Knowing that I can upgrade my life while being a mother and working is a great step towards helping others. Since my major is about helping others this diversity and thoroughness from peers and instructors is very engaging. Being able to go back to school has also benefitted my family and work because I am now looking at situations with a more keener eye. This saves time and money!

Academic Flexibility: Ashford staff, instructors and professors are very flexible in your needs, unless you are goofing off. there are times when you need more time to finish your assignment and if they have been helping you they are more understanding of your late work. Our classes are flexible, in you do not have to stop that week if you are finished you can move on to the next week. All of my course grades that could be transferred did transferred, which helped me a lot to get ahead. All is well, and if you are considering Ashford you may want to just enroll.

Tuition & Financial Aid: College in general is expensive but I feel as if I am paying far too much for the quality of education I am receiving. Going online I am unable to interact with students and advisor in the same way a person is in class. Between tuition fees, book fees, online material charges, etc. this experience is becoming very costly. I did grants my first year but did not qualify any year since then.

Academic Flexibility: I chose this school first of all because it is local, however working a full-time third shift job attending class would be incredibly dificult so I enrolled in their online program. While I do not love online classes the advisers have been wonderful with scheduling classes around my life. Also the instructors have been amazing. I have some health issues and all have been more than understanding when I need some extra help.

Student Body: I attend on-line classes and the student body is very diverse. There are high school students, military personnel that's in Afghanistan, single and married mothers and fathers, grandmothers, and grandfathers. From what has been diverged in our the classroom introductions, there are many angles that the students are taking to be able to attend college, even though it's all online. Everyone has a life outside of their work and outside of the classroom, but the classmates wants an education, so they all and become involved in the courses. Attending classes on-line there isn't any judging of your race, economic status, or religious preferences. I am for sure that our class has more to worry about than who has money, or what others believe in, or what color we are, we have discussions to post, assignments to finish and test to take. We communicate with each other though out the course with our postings and through Ashford Café, in which is a question, answer and discussion between just the students.
Finally, I would like to say each class that I have attended so far at Ashford University, that each student, instructor, professor, and staff has been incredible in answering questions, probing us to search within ourselves to be more creative in our thinking.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read and to consider my words for this much need scholarship.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
