Academic Flexibility: The flexibility is amazing. You have to make one initial post on Day 3 of each Module and make sure your work is completed and turned in by the due date. Other than that you have free range to get your work completed at whatever pace works best for you.

Online Courses: One of the unique features that Ashford has is there own social media for their students. Each student must make a profile and make an initial post. It helps connect students from all over the globe and meet individuals with similar interest. I actually reconnected with a friend from my first deployment through the social media program.

Overall Experience: The quality of the courses and the professors are second to none. I can only recall one issue I encountered that caused my experience to be less than stellar. Some people just don't understand the military and it's physical demands.

The class style/size are typical for an online university. Ashford is not one of those "go at your own pace" universites. Because of that your forced to learn a new concept each week, grasp it and apply it to that weeks assignment.

Academic Experience: I am a business major. The thing I like most about Ashford's business classes is that it teaches that running a business isn't just about numbers. It's about small/large group dynamics and how each component works cohesively to get the job done.

Overall Experience: What makes Ashford great their accessibility and its military friendliness. Being an Active Duty Air Force member I can truly appreciate that the flexibility it provides. The professors are understanding of the fact that many of their students are not your typical college students. Many of us work a full time job, have children and accomplish our work during our free time.

Online Courses: I enjoy using online courses because I can log in at any time. The downside of online courses is there is little interaction with other students, and I don't get to be present for actual lectures in a classroom.

Career Services: I am nearly halfway through my MBA, so at this point I haven't experienced much except seminars on how to write a resume.

Overall Experience: I have taken five courses so far, and I will say that in each course, I have reached out to the instructors for help and received great feedback. Even with that said, I struggled with financial accounting due to it being new material. However, the instructor for that course was the best! She gave out her personal phone number and set up times during the week for students to call for help.

Overall Experience: This school is a nationally accredited institution, so I think it looks great on your resume. I receive emails frequently about alumni events and opportunities, such as how to write a quality resume.

Academic Experience: Being an MBA student is awesome! I have enjoyed learning about marketing, accounting from a financial standpoint as well as a manger's standpoint. I feel like I am really gearing up to be in middle management some day.

Overall Experience: I have had very interactive instructors who have helped me when I asked for it. I enjoy going here, however, being an online school is difficult at times when the courses are six weeks long.

Academic Experience: As an English major, they have a unique writing center to help in every way possible in creating intelligent, creative, honest and academic papers.

Overall Experience: You can take classes every month, not only during fall and spring semesters. I think that helps a studentprogress toward their degree quicker. You can get head start on assignments rather than attending several class days of lectures before you can begin work or take a test. My advisor calls me once a week to discuss my progress and is super encouraging and and authentic.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
