5 College Freshman

Campus Quality: Faculty are readily and willing to help all students in a timely and friendly manner.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I don't know mch about the off-campus housing, but I hear good things from the students who live in the apartments

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: There are several food options during breakfast, lunch, and dinner; but, quality of food isn't the greatest.

3 College Freshman

Weather: The weather can change at the drop of a hat and seasonal changes usually come early.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are a number of diverse restaraunts for students to dine at within walking distance and at a reasonable price.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The emphasis on comunity life is held at an equal level as education and spiriual focus. There are many opportunities for students to envolve themself in extracaricular activities and leadership programs.

3 College Freshman

Technology: The network provided for students on campus isn't the most reliable, but computers are readily available to all students.

College Freshman

Greek Life: There are no fraternity or sorority groups available at Asbury University.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food is mostly good and they usually have a variety of food to choose from, its just that there are not much options for people who have a different kind of diet. An example is a vegetarian, if that person has just the option of the salad bar everyday that person would not have much to eat during the semester. But they try to have a variety and try to provide food the students like.

Transportation: Transportation here is good for those with rides and friends who have rides, but will suck if you don't have a car or friends with cars because it will be very difficult to go around. Most of the big stores where students usually get stuff they really need are not located in the town where the school is located so it is difficult for students who are new to find rides that will take them there. There is a need for transportation for students especially students who are not familiar with the area.

3 College Freshman

Technology: The computers are really good but the internet is not really good. The internet access is really slow and sometimes won't even work. There was this time my teacher had to take us to a different class because the internet would not work in our regular classroom. The computer labs are accessible and always available for students though.

3 College Freshman

Campus Quality: Student life and hang outs is pretty good, the students find time to hang out in the student center an usually have activities out on the green. The students also try to be involved in as much physical activity and sports as much as they can and other students are always usually invited to the games. There's not much of traditions so it's just basically normal everyday stuff.

2 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Guys and goes basically relate well and have fun together but most of the guys are more outgoing to mostly girls they know and really shy away from those they don't know. Relationships are just normal nothing over the top because it's a Christian school. The dress code is pretty tight and it is made to help the students stay safe. Social life here is pretty boring, there's mostly nothing to do because everybody is just doing their own thing and if your not asked to hang out your pretty much on your own.

3 College Freshman

Parking: Permit cost have been good this year but because of the increasing amount of students the parking spaces have become full and students get tickets for parking in the wrong spots because there is no space. Students have complained about this and arrangements are being made to open more spaces. Not having a car on campus can be stressful especially when you love off campus and have early 8 am classes but the campus is small so it is a lot easier to get around unlike other bog campuses.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Financial aid application was good if you applied early enough and was the school tries to make it as smooth as possible for whomever is applying. Even if you do not get financial aid they try to give out as much scholarships as possible to help cover lots of students. To get good financial support you have to apply early and constantly apply to as many as you can to help knock off some of the bills for college because college can be very expensive especially when you do not have a steady means of income.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: The campus here is like a nice home where you are really comfortable with everyone and you cam pretty much tell if there is something wrong with someone and people then try to help that person. So alcohol and drug use is not at al rampant in Asbury and nobody ever pressures you to do what you do not want to do. The school is very strict on drug use and has a strong policy against it.

3 College Freshman

Weather: The weather is not really bad here except for some years when it gets really cold during the winter. For international students it is really bad because most at times this is their first time experiencing the cold weather and it makes it really hard to cope for them, especially when they don't have the right clothes for the cold. It is really bad too for those not staying on campus nd without cars because you have to walk everyday in the cold to go to school and you have to go to class because you only have a limited amount of skips in class.

Overall Experience: I am not sure if I would like to come here again but I would definitely consider this school if I really needed a strong Christian environment that would help me grow in my spiritual life. My experience so far has been good, the teachers are excellent and are ready to help their students in any way they can. They tech extra lessons to help students who don't understand like international students who might find it hard to adjust. My favorite experience was working with my tag group, a tag group is a group that you are put into as a freshman to help you transition smoother from high school to college. So I had lots of fun with tag group and it helped me know other freshmen so I wasn't totally lost when I started. My tag leaders were good too and ready to help me and answer any questions I had.

Administration: They pretty much let you have your own space and don't try to invade in people's personal lives. The school is very strict on visitation hours though, and knowing the exact location of a student if they are off campus during late hours. They try to create a Christian atmosphere where students can have quiet times when they need it by providing private rooms for study or by leaving the chapel constantly open for students that need to pray. The school policies I believe are good and affect the students both positively and negatively, some students think the school policies like having chapel three times a week is great and helps them focus more, while others think chapel three times a week might be too much. Chapel for me is excellent and good just that maybe it can be minimized to once a week once the semester really kicks on because students become alot busier and need more time to work or study. Asbury creates an atmosphere where you can talk to anyone about what is going on in your life by having small groups and people you can talk to.

Weather: It is very cold. I almost did not attend here because of it, but the snow is pretty.

Scholarships: I think that they work hard to help you as much as possible.

Administration: They are extremely strict and keep to their rules. I do not believe they are too strict but others may disagree.

Off-Campus Housing: There were no real options for off campus living. Students are generally required to live on campus unless they are local.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I received a great deal of financial aid last year, but there were not many opportunities outside of athletics and work study to receive scholarships through the university. On top of that, the bank through which Asbury holds loans and payment plans does not offer deferred payment plans, only several payments per semester. This makes paying whatever is left out-of-pocket difficult. I felt that for $30,000 a year there would be a little more availability to some money.

Diversity: There is a unique mixture of racial diversity at Asbury. Known all around the World, Asbury offers many opportunities for multiple races to meet. Most of the population is white, but there is a small class of Hispanic and black students. There is little to no problem with segregation or discrimination o race at Asbury University. Everyone is well accepted no matter what background someone may have.
