5 College Freshman

Academics: Asbury has one of the very best and challenging Education programs in Kentucky. I am an English Education major and love both parts of it. The workload is a little above average. On Asbury's website, you can find a list of all the credit hours required for all majors/minors. They are very helpful.

Academics: Asbury provides an amazing community of learners to grow and develop in!

Health & Safety: Wilmore is a tiny town with very little commotion. There are a limited amount of police patrolling the area and only 1 or 2 security officers on duty at a time. Our health center is there with a band aid when you scrape your leg, but go to a walk in clinic a few miles away with anything else.

Guys & Girls: There is a wide variety of looks, interests, and whatnot at Asbury. Almost all students are Christian/Believe in God. A lot of musicians/singers. A lot of media communications majors.

Off-Campus Housing: If you're looking to live off-campus, stay home. Wilmore is a very small town with almost no off campus apartments. Students have to obtain special permission if under 21 to live off campus without their parents.

College Freshman

Administration: A rating would be based on whether or not you are looking for a Christian school or not. Asbury is very strict when it comes to drinking and drug use. Check out their website to see their guidelines. They enforce what they say they do.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Asbury can be stingy with scholarships based on Academics or financial need. Try to interview for a larger scholarship if possible. Asking NEVER hurts - trust me! I got an extra $1,000 just for asking if there was any extra money for aid.

Weather: I've lived in Kentucky my whole life and the weather here is fine. It only rained hard enough to phase students in their commute a couple times this past semester. It didn't snow but once.

5 College Freshman

Campus Quality: I love Asbury! We have a really nice athletic center with an indoor Olympic pool that I work at as a Lifeguard. The best part about Asbury is the awesome professors.

5 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: The guys and girls on campus interact quite well together. There are the typical groups of couples, but most of the people with whom I hang out with are very enjoyable. The company is good, yet when one needs alone time people are most of the time considerate and let others work. Most of the people on campus are attractive, both physically, socially, mind-set-wise, and spiritually, which provide a desired environment.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: Although located not too far from a larger city, Asbury seems somewhat remote from other activities. It is a small town not too cut off from the world, yet is small enough that it feels like it. The atmosphere is what one expects when attending a private, liberal arts college.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The health department is very good, assisting students when needed and offering substantial health care aid. Security goes around campus, yet is not in too many places. Asbury has proven to be a safe campus where no major crimes have occurred. Small thefts in dorms have come about, yet have not posed any threat to the safety of the students.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: The financial aid office worked hard and seemed to genuinely care about getting me the most scholarships for which I was applicable. Without them, I would have had a harder time getting to attend Asbury.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Campus dining has good availability, is affordable, and has a reasonable yet not as wide variety of choices. There could be better value and assortment of foods. Although there is a smaller food outlet above the regular cafeteria, that does not have the best variety either. Overall it is average.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I live on-campus and therefore am not fully informed on off-campus relations. There are a few, yet not a wide variety, of housing options. Prices seem better compared to on-campus living, and the distance from the school and other outlets are reasonable.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Many athletic events are publicized, but not as much as they could be. When informed with a good amount of time, many students attend the sports events on campus. Otherwise, it is not a huge part of Asbury to attend as many sports events as possible.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Asbury University provides spiritual growth, academic integrity, and social connected-ness to an attending student. This campus is enjoyable; the people form a real community, and this Christian college actually abides by the rules every day, unlike other colleges claiming to be a Christian college. Under the special circumstances that brought me to Asbury, I am privileged to attend such a wonderful university.

3 College Freshman

Technology: Many professors do not allow the use of technology in a classroom setting, making it more difficult to finish certain activities. Using technology in classrooms is beneficial to students and has more potential to do good than bad. Wireless connection can sometimes be good, yet other times it is difficult and frustrating to connect.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Asbury enforces rules concerning drinking and using alcohol on campus. It is prohibited and strongly not recommended.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Have not really taken courses pertaining to my majors; only taken general education courses. Looking forward to taking courses that deal with my actual majors.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Most of the courses are enjoyable, though a few feel like one does not learn to the best of his/her academic ability due to the professor's lack of professionalism. Work load is reasonable, yet it was an adjustment from a high school to college education.

3 College Freshman

Parking: Parking depends on which grade one is in as well as whether he/she is a resident or commuter. It is inconvenient, yet understandable, for under classmen to park further away from the upper classmen spots.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Sports aren't a big part of the students' social lies, but they create a fun and easy going atmosphere for students and parents.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: The process for financial aid was smooth and all faculy members were willing to aid the student and their family in any time of need.

5 College Freshman

Campus Quality: Faculty are readily and willing to help all students in a timely and friendly manner.
