Drug Safety: Not Noticable at All – There are probably some students on campus who drink and hide it in their rooms (even though it's against the rules), but you don't notice it. Smoking doesn't occur on campus unless the contractors are here doing work and they're smoking sometimes. Drug usage is non-existent on campus.

Overall Experience: Honestly I've had issues with some of the rules, and regulations here on campus, but it's a great place to grow close with other Christians and to grow closer to Christ. It does have a wonderful academic program for most of the majors and it can be wonderful for most people.

Health & Safety: It's Safe – I always feel safe on Campus. There's always a security guard on duty if you need him, not always visible, but always available by calling the Switchboard.

3 College Senior

Administration: There are several rules that you 'have to follow' at Asbury all of them can be found in the Community Standards Book, but they're fairly easy to break and find ways around. But it sure can sound intimidating since there are so many of them listed in the book.

Local Area: Not Much to Do – In Wilmore there's not a whole lot to do, but there are a few options if you're willing to try them out. There's also many, many, options in Lexington and Nicholasville if you're willing to drive just a short bit.

Weather: Usually mild winters, with the random occasional snow storm. Stays warm late into the fall. People hang out outside a lot, and there's plenty of "yard space" around

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: You Need a Car, or a Friends Who Are Willing to Drive You – Asbury is about 20 minutes outside of Lexington, Ky. So having a car on campus is really your only option for transportation to get to Lexington. There are a lot of options for ride sharing though, and campus has some cars available to use depending on the situation (doctor appointment, emergency, etc)

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Dorms Are Prety Good – I have no problem with the dorms at Asbury, basically because I live in the biggest room on campus. Johnson Hall is the best. There are no 'upperclassmen/lowerclassmen' dorms, it's first come first serve, except for Aldersgate which is apartment option for the upperclassmen.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Completely Safe – There is not a single complaint I have about Asbury's safety. The crime rate in Wilmore is basically non-existent. But watch out for thieves in the Luce Center, high school kids are allowed in there and have been known to steal things. Other than that, it's all good.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Got to Drive to the Next Town – There are a few restaurants in Wilmore, but the majority of the restaurants are in the next town over. Even with that, there's a pretty good variety over there. Plus if you want even better dining, Lexington is a little father. So there are options.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Most Professors Are Good – There are a good variety of classes offered at Asbury. Most professors work with the students, but there are some bad ones.

Technology: It gets crowded for finals, but there are plenty of computers around campus.

Health & Safety: I Feel Pretty Safe – Whether I'm running at night or am making a late-night run to Applebee's with friends and have to walk all the way across campus to get to my car on the other side of the world, I feel pretty safe. It's a fairly sleep town (all the excitement is 15+ minutes away), but I always see a security guard driving around campus or see police officers on the streets. I feel safe.

Administration: Squeezed in the Middle – The rules are quite strict at my school, but that is to be expected at a Christian college such as mine. I think a lot of the rules are pointless, but I choose to obey (most of) them, regardless. Many people have issues with the rules, but they totally knew what they were getting in to when they chose to go to this school. Go to a state school if you don't want as many rules!

Parking: Every year has their designated parking spots according to what parking sticker you have. Unfortunately, there are not enough parking spots, and the only place where there are plenty of spots is a 15 minute walk away from everything. Definitely needs improvement.

4 College Junior

Athletics: Sports Are Important and It Shows – When contemplating the status of sports at my university, I would for sure give it an A. The reason why I chose this is because lots of students go to my school because they know they will be guaranteed a spot on a sports team. It definitely unifies the student body, especially for exciting soccer or basketball games.

Majors: Ed. Major – Education at Asbury Uni. sucks! Its as hard as getting your doctorates. They have so much criteria it's ridiculous! The advisers and people who are in charge of the education program, not all but most, are very rude and inconsiderate. They will not work with you at all to help you out. Very judgmental, and if they do not like you personally, you have no chance to progress in the major!

2 College Junior

Majors: Low Profile – To get into a program is simple. All you have to do is go to the registrar's office and sign a form. There is no meeting, or no one on one discussion with someone to determine the right path for you.

Weather: Experiencing the weather at Asbury from season to season is absolutely enchanting. A student is able to experience in all types of weather and enjoy in seeing the leaves change from season to season. Asbury is a lovely campus, and the changes from the weather only enhances it's beauty. Weather you walk out in a warm summer afternoon in a light dress, or need to grab a jacket for the cool fall breeze, or even bundle up in a warm coat and boots for the three inches of snow under your feet, Asbury is a campus that will have a season of weather for everyone.

Campus Quality: Active Activities Bord – Asbury provides opportunities for students to be engaged in that other Colleges do not provide. When Asbury puts on a program, or campus activity you can expect it to be successful and well thought out. They have a board that is advised by both student's and faculty, and thankfully, the student's have a large involvement in the decision making process.
A few activities that have been largely accepted and attended to by the students include; Narnia Night, Highbridge, Coffee House, Class Games etc.
Thank you for providing programs.

Diversity: As a student who has attended Asbury for three years I have been discouraged with the diversity on campus. As a christian campus, we draw in many missionary students, and those involved in church. While christian studies is a focus at Asbury, I believe the University is missing an opportunity to reach and draw students in from other programs including sports and general education. An outsider looking in would see the majority of students walking to and from class to be white and would see minimum diversity. I would love to see more diversity in ethnic/racial, and economic backgrounds.
While the University lacks in ethnic and racial diversity, I have noticed Asbury to be strong in accepting students for who they are as individuals. This has been a progress over the years, and I would like to see this develop even further. Asbury has a huge opportunity to reach students. Please don't allow the school to be secluded in it's own little world any more.
Thank you.

Drug Safety: Hardly Anything Here – There is rarely anything that goes on here. There are a few occasions of people doing stuff on campus, but if people want to do something, the typically have to go to UK to do anything.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: Many White Students – Asbury mainly consists of white people. 99% of people are Christians, considering it is a Christian school. Sexual orientation is basically straight, since it goes against the bible to be anything else. There aren't many international students but the numbers are rising.

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of Options Not Too Far Away – With Lexington and Nicholasville so close to campus, my friends and I never have a problem finding a suitable place to eat out if we don't want to eat on campus. Fast food, sit-down restaurants, diners, etc. are all available in the nearby towns. Wilmore itself doesn't have a diverse selection of restaurants, but again with the other towns so close it hardly matters.

Health & Safety: Trustworthy Atmosphere – Campus life is safe and secure mainly because of the ability to go anywhere on campus and always see smiling faces. The community being so small makes traveling around campus completely care free and keeps an atmosphere that requires no worrying. I have never felt threatened in anyway whether I am walking around in the middle of the day or at 3 o'clock in the morning. The campus is small so being near a populated building or a safe place is never a problem. I trust the students and the community around Asbury so much that much of the time I don't even lock my door.
