Majors: Wholesome Education That Truly Prepares You! The social work program is very good. The professors are genuinely interested in helping you become competent professionals who can also maintain personal health. We openly discuss many issues we might encounter. It's challenging, but not overwhelming. There get to be more papers and research assignments than homework. At least 2 internships/practicums are required, but are well supervised and well-rounded (depending on the placement) Great I definitely enjoy the genuine atmosphere in this program!

Guys & Girls: We do have some diversity, because of missionaries. We value modesty, so have a dress code. Unfortunately, it isn't always enforced. We have many ministry opportunities, especially in nearby towns. We have mandatory chapel 3 days every week. It's great to worship with the whole school, but sometimes people feel negative pressure because of this requirement. Relationships are relatively peaceful. There's a unique stress people feel to get married... other than that I feel like the student population is changing to be a little bit less responsible and a little less devoted to the Christian faith... which is cause for a decent amount of conflict!

Technology: Great Resources – We have both PCs and Macs available to all students in computer labs. The labs aren't always open when needed, but the school is great at hearing student input and attempting to make adjustments. We have a $30 printing account, so we can print hassle-free unless you go over the amount (which doesn't happen very often!) Wireless was just introduced to all the dorms. They're still working out the kinks, but it's pretty reliable. We also have a proxy that filters inappropriate sexual or other content. Because this is a Christian campus, many people appreciate this accountability! Though there are occasional problems with information being blocked for some research topics, there are ways to get internet off-campus. Most people have their own laptops, but printers aren't so needed.

Overall Experience: God Loves Us All – I am enjoying the environment here. I have made good friends, I have great professors and we have a great christian community.

Parking: On Foot Is Rough – Parking on campus is somewhat limited and the cost of permits are reasonable. However, I still don't have my car here. As a freshman the rules stated no vehicle but have since changed. I have found that I do need my car and it will be here next year.

Drug Safety: Not on My Campus – Asbury is a strong religious campus. I haven't seen the use of drugs at all. None of my friends are into that kind of thing.

Party Scene: Life in Dullsville – Asbury University is a Christian College and a pretty strict one so my night life is limited. There are a few clubs, restaurants and a movie theater in the next town. I don't have my own transportation so it is difficult to travel making night life a little dull.

Scholarships: Process Was Easy – I have nothing to complain about. They were helpful and professional.

Transportation: Make Friends With Upper-Classmen – Asbury has gone through some changes over the past couple of months, but there is still a large majority of students without cars. If the situation arises Asbury has a list of students(who get paid) with cars that are willing to give other students rides to or from the airport.

3 College Junior

Diversity: Mostly White Students – But, Asbury (now University) has quite the diversity of students from around the world. As for religion diversity it is mostly Christian because it is a Christian Liberal Arts University. But there are still those who do not believe in Christianity.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: Smooth Sailing – Although all financial aid is extremely stressful for students Asbury Financial Aid provides support to help accommodate all the stress. The size of the University allows very personal relationships with the staff, this allows the student and employees to gain a relationship while working hand in hand on coming up with best possible Aid package.

Campus Housing: The Happening Place – Kresge which is an all girls dorm on campus brings the social side out of everyone. With suite style rooms being seperated with a "common area" (couch, chairs, tables,) provides a nice place to have hang out time, study groups, and even movie nights.

Campus Quality: Media Communication, the Bible, and Life Long Friends. Asbury is known for their media communication majors not only is it the largest major on campus but its one of the best in the country. Every other year students in this program are given the chance to intern at the Olympics and Asbury University is the only school in the USA who sends student interns. They also have a great education program with a 100% placement rate the last few years. All classes on campus push students academically, mentally and biblically to prepare them for the next step of life classes are challenging and personal with small classes (about 20) the professor is able to attend to the needs of every student. The campus environment as well as classroom environment is very biblically founded and intentional most students keep and agree to the campus community standards and rules.

Overall Experience: Best Student Body on Earth! Asbury College (Now University) has a wonderful campus environment the students are all incredibly friendly and smile and say hello in passing if you know them or not. As a Christian school chapel and bible studies are well attended and create a close knit community where you are able to know lots of students as well as your professors. Although Asbury is relatively strict (No Drinking, required chapel, curfew, and classroom dress code) the rules are enforced just enough to keep students in a respectful christian environment and the staff is always adapting these rule and loosening them to fit the current student body. Asbury also has the ability to be set in a small town but in 15 minutes you can be to downtown Lexington or the UK for a different college experience such as the worlds largest water Ballon fight and other fun events.

Health & Safety: Extremely Safe – Asbury College (Now University) is an incredibly safe campus. In the last 15 years (according to my professor) there have not been any arrest on campus and the only police reports have been with vehicle incidents (A few stolen possessions from on campus parking lots) most of which have come from people not associated with the University. At Asbury people are very trusting with possessions and you often see backpacks, books, cellphones sitting in a chair with the owner out of view and very rarely we will get e-mails about a missing Ipod or so on. However I am a freshman girl and I fell very safe walking across campus alone at night, the campus is well lit and a very friendly safe environment.

Campus Housing: I live in the Kresge dorm. It a suite styled dorm where four-five people share one bathroom instead of the community style living. I really like the fact that I have fewer people to share a bathroom with, but it is no fun to clean :( The social atmosphere of Kresge is great! We have a "unit" out in the middle of all of our rooms. There are 32 girls that share this specific unit. If you don't feel like sitting in your room to do homework by yourself, you can go in the unit to be social or even receive some distraction from your work. It is not as convenient as the other girls' dorm but the way it is set up makes it totally worth it. The housing process was really simple. I got accepted, received a paper for what dorm and things I wanted in a roommate, everything is great!

Local Area: The Small Town of Wilmore – Wilmore is peaceful. To "go into town" is to walk across campus and you are pratically there. A few small restaurants and little grocery stores are located easily within walking distance. They have mini parades for holidays and just seem really personal.

Academics: I came to Asbury University because it is a Christian school. The environment is great here, I am always surrounded by positive and happy people. They really cheer me up when I am down. The professors I have are all very personal and anytime I ask a question, they are ready to help. The workload is not bad, can be depending on what part of the semester it is. But as long as you keep up with your work, it is very manageable. My favorite spot to do homework is at the Library, it is quiet enough to get homework done but also social enough to where you are not by yourself all of the time.

Campus Quality: Christian Atmosphere – i love being at a Christian university because most of the professors pray before every class, we have chapel services three times a week, and it is great to be in a community where most of the people are Christian and love you even if they don't know you.

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: No Greeks – We do not have actual Greek Life but most of the halls have their own name and act like a Greek environment. Minus the partying.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: In my experience with Asbury's financial aid process, the women in the office are not helpful at all. They are always in a terrible mood and very crabby when I go in there. If you want to get help with your finances you better be prepared to go into debt big time because Asbury costs a lot of money.

1 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There is not off-campus housing because students are not permitted to live off-campus unless they are married. If you wish to live off-campus because you are married, you'll have to find a place in Nicholasville.

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: What Food? Asbury University has three places to eat off campus. The Chinese restaurant (which isn't very good), Jose's Mexican Restaurant, and a small pizza place/soda shop inside a pharmacy. Unless you want to drive into Nicholasville or Lexington, you aren't going to have a large variety of choices. None of these places give student discounts, and the cost isn't that expensive but it definitely isn't cheap. The best place to eat would probably be the Pizzeria/Soda shop on Main Street.

1 College Senior

Guys & Girls: Girls Are Unattractive and Stuck up – The majority of the women at Asbury University are unattractive and stuck-up. Only about 10% are good-looking, and they tend to be very dense, already taken, or so stuck-up that you need a drink just to deal with them (which is not allowed on or off campus). Not a school to go to for good-looking women. The freshman tend to take care of themselves somewhat, but after that they just go downhill. Not the place to find Southern belles. Great place to go to stay single during undergrad.

3 College Junior

Transportation: Asbury is located 30 minutes outside of Lexington, and there is no public transportation. One problem even technically within campus is getting to the adventure/ropes course, as well as the equine center. Obtaining rides out there can be very difficult, especially before you know people.
