4 College Freshman

Party Scene: We don't really have a "nightlife" at Asbury. If you consider nightlife to be going out and getting a drink, then Asbury isn't really what you are looking for. If you consider nightlife to be hanging with friends, playing frisbee or just walking around, then this is the place you have been looking for.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: I feel that we have some good athletic programs, but not all of them are the best. This year, our women's basketball team did really well. Actually both teams did great. We are adding a lacrosse team to Asbury, and things are improving. We also aren't NCAA; we participate in NAIA.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I think we have good safety at the campus. I mean, I do not know of anyone at this University that does drugs or drinks alcohol. There is actually rules here that prevent students from participating in that kind of activity. I mean, that doesn't mean that some students still do not do that. But, if you are looking for a school that doesn't pressure you into partying and doing drugs, then this is the school for you.

2 College Sophomore

Technology: The computers available on campus are the newes. But wireless internet connection is awful!!!

3 College Freshman

Academics: Good offerings. Some classes are irrelevant to desired major that must be taken.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Facilities are great. Not very many students involved unless they participate.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: Most of the teachers on campus are very nice and are willing to help you with anything if you need it. Since it is a small campus, there are smaller class sizes and you can get to know your teacher on a more personal level. However, since Asbury is a smaller college, there are not as many classes you can take as a student compared to a big public university.

Majors: While the business department is not very big on Asbury's campus at the moment, it is growing. Asbury is doubling the size of their business department faculty next year. There are also internships available for students, both on (starting in the fall) and off campus. All of the business professors on campus have also spent time working at companies before becoming teachers, so they are very knowledgeable in their field.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel very safe on campus. Asbury is located in a small, safe community, and I do not even feel unsafe walking around campus alone at night. I never feel in danger on campus, and there is security roaming around campus constantly.

2 College Sophomore

Administration: Compared to other schools, Asbury is pretty strict. There is a dress code (that is becoming more lenient), but students are not allowed to wear sweatpants or shorts to class (however, some teachers do not care). This is because the university wants their students to dress professionally. Asbury also has a curfew starting at 12 (1am on Friday nights), but you are allowed extensions, so it is not terrible. However, there is absolutely no drug or alcohol use allowed on campus. Since this is a Christian school, the university wants the students to keep a high moral standard.

3 College Sophomore

Technology: There are computers to use both in the library and the student center on campus. Students can also choose between a mac computer or a pc, which gives a variety of computers to use and makes students more comfortable. There is wireless access all over campus, and sometimes it has problems, but it usually does not last longer than a few minutes. Asbury also gives students a pretty large printing budget, so there is no need to buy your own printer.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: Everything at Asbury is within walking distance. A student can walk from one end of campus to the other in about fifteen minutes.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: It depends what group you hang out with. Drugs are present, but not prevalent.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: We have over 30 countries represented, but the primary race is white. For some, color means a stoop lower than the "smartest" people. But for most, Asbury is a very accepting and loving school that reaches out towards countries for ministries and mission trips.

4 College Freshman

Technology: Sometimes Internet will just go down for 5-30 minutes. Kind of weird, but it's not too bad. The school computers are generally good all the time, though.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: looks pretty nice, some buildings are outdated, but generally it is a beautiful campus. There are many on-campus places to hang out, and some student fellowships just off-campus which are also available. There are many activities and events planned throughout the year. Combine this with a smaller population, and campus starts to feel like family.

1 College Freshman

Diversity: I am an african american student here on campus and I've counted, there are about 12 of us in total on campus out of about 1,600 students. That is just not right.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There is literally no reason to ever not feel safe here. It is in a small town and nothing happens in it. I walk around the town in the middle of the night and never have any problems

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: I received a great scholarship to be here but I know that does not work for all. If I can offer some hope though, I was never one to think I would actually win these things but I won the scholarship so go for it!

5 College Sophomore

Majors: It was super easy getting into my program. Since my major is Equine Managament, I was able to come in with little knowledge and still be accepted. This specific program starts from the basics and builds up to the harder stuff; it allows you to get a feel of what it will be like to be in this field after graduation so that if you are uncomfortable with this type of major, you will know sooner rather than later to choose something different. Along with classes that actually take place in a classroom, there are also many classes that are hands on, which I personally enjoy. This type of program was relatively easy to apply for; there aren't any hoops to jump through or unexpected things to account for. People here are very accomadating and helpful.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: We have chapel three times a week where you can worship and delve into the word. We mix up the styles of worship, from hymns and organ playing, to comteporary music with the student band. We also have speakers that range from all over the US, parts of the world, our faculty, and even our students; they talk about the different experiences in their life and how God has impacted them personally.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: They have top-notch computers here (like Macs); our athletic centers offers different intermural sports and activities for people to get involved in; the library has three stories filled with computers, books, CDs, DVDs, periodicals, etc.; we have a mane green space where students set up projector screens to watch movies during the warmer months and where our "Legacy Games" take place; campus events range from artist series to local bands coming and jamming out with the student body; there are also things like "Last Man Standing" (Humans vs Zombies)

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: The school offers different things but since it is a private, christian school (which isn't bad), it doesn't offer a whole lot of options. The student council will occasionally plan fun things, there are art series, plays, music, and girls and guys can hang out in each other's rooms on Fridays. You will usually find the nightlife quiet here unless you know the right people or you go off-campus.

5 College Senior

Majors: I would choose Asbury University Masters program all over again. Because the school is small, I believe that I got my money's worth. While I have concerns about job availability in my field in the greater Lexington area, I feel that I am equipped to handle a position in social work anywhere in the country.

Academics: Asbury's Master of Social Work program is very challenging. Professors and fellow students are a close-knit bunch as the department is small. Everyone is willing to offer help. The university has an agreement with the seminary across the street if electives are needed to complete course requirements. I have enjoyed my experience at the university and the seminary.
