Athletics: I really like intramurals and I guess I could be partial about the varsity stuff but I just never got that spirited myself

Overall Experience: I love Arkansas Tech! It's small enough to where you don't just feel like a number and your classes are smaller, but big enough to be a lot better than high school all over again.

Campus Housing: I think the quality of housing is incredible. That is for at least the experience I have had with it.

Greek Life: I honestly don't care for Greek life. It's not of any importance to me so I don't invest time into it.

Athletics: The only thing that keeps it from being great is student involvement. Not a whole lot of the school attends the varsity games, not sure why though.

Overall Experience: Tech offers incredible opportunities at experiencing the outdoors, the faculty is great, and if you don't leave campus, you tend to forget you're in a town at all!

Academics: What I don't like about some teachers is that they don't give you a sufficient amount of work in the class. There are teachers who give homework, class participation points, and classwork, and tests of course. Then there are teachers who only give tests, which can have a negative effect on a student's grade. For studying, you can go to the library, baz-tech, the computer lab, doc bryan, and the tutoring center to name a few. Registering for this school is not that hard, but there is a lot of paperwork involved.

Overall Experience: Some professors care about your future and how well you do in the class, and some don't. Some help you, and some don't. Depending on your major, the number of students in the class can be low, but that could be an advantage for you. If there is a popular teacher and a convenient time to take it, according to the students, the class will have at least 30 students.

Campus Housing: Well when you stay 3 hours away from home and can't afford your own place, staying on campus is the only option In all fairness though, It adds to the college experience. My dorm is close to most of my classes and the cafeteria. The housing process isn't that bad. When I applied I looked up the school's website and watched videos about the dorms. The one I stay I stay in is suite style. Even though the price of the dorm is going up, I don't think I could handle staying in community style dorms.

Athletics: The sports games, both varsity and intramural, are great. The girls basketball team won their conference last year, and the boys have stepped their game up. The football team has gotten a lot better this year. I think we've only lost maybe two or three games last I've heard. Students love to watch intramural basketball, though. The gym can get packed sometimes, depending on what teams are playing.

Overall Experience: What I have realized in the past 3 years I have attended this university is that school is what you make it. The effort of experience, memories, and friends you make all depends on you. Some students say the university is boring. That may be true, but why is it boring? "Because everybody leaves on the weekend. No one shows up to the parties. There is nothing to do." It's a chain effect. Students who leave for the weekend stay an hour or less away, so why go home when they can stay with their friends? I speak for most young college students when I say one of the main points of going to college is to be away from home. So why would you still go home? If we all came together and said, "Let's stay here and all go out together," people would have a great weekend. Another thing is that some of us can be cliquish. This is college, not high school. I guess some don't know the difference. There is nothing wrong with making friends outside of the normal group you would hang with back in high school. College is about finding yourself, changing, and emerging. It's about not being that person you were back in high school. Is it wrong for the popular football player to become friends with the chess playing, Star Wars loving student? Finally, you have to be yourself and open to changes. There is a freshman that stays in my dorm. He plans on joining the military, but another interesting thing about him is that he carries a self-made speaker on his back. Yes, a floor standing speaker. He wears it around campus like it's his backpack, freely blasting his music. One day my friends and I heard Eminem playing from a distance. Before the guy reached us I told them how much I admire him for being himself. Before he finished walking down the sidewalk to his dorm, one of my friends said, "There should be more people like you at Tech." He smiled, said thank you, and walked on. It was the truth. If we came together and didn't worry about what's cool, we would have a more than an okay school

Athletics: I really enjoyed going to football games on Friday nights in high school. During basketball season, me and a friend vowed to go to every game, even the games 3 hours away. I played volleyball and was the softball manager. I was always around sports. And I couldn't wait to see what the atmosphere of a college sporting event was like, I could just imagine all the yelling and wild fans at college football games! My first time going to a football game at my school wasn't quite what I imagined. It was quiet. There was no real "student section". And a lot of people weren't even paying attention to the game. I'm not real sure what the problem was, though. Maybe it was just school spirit. But intramural sports are another story. Everyone plays if they can. Intramural sports are so much fun and the level of competition just makes them even more enjoyable. I also played on a softball team. The first game, my team got beat by 25 points. I wasn't upset though, none if us were, we all had a great time! That atmosphere was just fun and relaxed and I absolutely loved it.

Overall Experience: I absolutely love my school. The campus is almost as beautiful as the people, and I don't just mean that on the surface. The very first week of college was a fear of mine, I thought it was going to be terrifying living away from home, knowing only a few people. But after our first couple of activities during welcome week, I realized I was completely wrong. All of the leaders were so encouraging and energetic and friendly and encouraged us to interact with others around us and just made us all feel welcome at this new, strange place. I was also terrified of the classes, I mean, it's college. It's supposed to be super hard, right? Although a few courses did challenge me, I never beat myself up about it because the professors were always there and ready to help when I needed it or had any questions. All of my professors were just amazing and nothing like the "I'm getting paid wether you pass or not" professors that people at other schools talk about. Being at Arkansas Tech makes me feel like I'm a part of something bigger than just a school, but a big, helpful, caring family. And that's what I absolutely love about my school.

Overall Experience: Arkansas Tech University is the best college i could have attended. This college accepts students from all over, doesn't judge, and students accept each other. My favorite experience is being able to be away from home to learn how to be alone, having a roommate to know and having neighbors in the hall to also get to know.

Overall Experience: I love Arkansas Tech. Russellville is a great town and it just always seems to have a positive atmosphere! Which in return can help you as a student. My professors are great and really care about each and every student of theirs. Success for students is their main goal and they are more than willing to help you if you need it. Football games have been my favorite part so far. Everyone seems to care for the school and wants it to thrive in the sports played. There are many opportunities for students to get out of their comfort zone and be apart of something bigger. Overall, my experience has been great and I am looking forward to finishing out my college career at Arkansas Tech.
