Academics: Some teachers are great, some not so much. Most professors I had were available during their office hours, some more so than others. On one end of the spectrum, one teacher was rarely ever there and left immediately after class (not easy to get ahold of) and on the other (my German professor), was *wonderful* -- very willing to help if needed and always easy to get ahold of. One professor gave us her private cell number but I felt as though I got mixed signals on many assignments. Still, she was lenient with students who needed the extra time/help.

Off-Campus Housing: I commute from my house so I don't know about houses right near campus.

College Sophomore

Party Scene: I don't live near campus and I don't go to parties.

Off-Campus Dining: It depends on how diverse your tastes are... I like pizza and wish there were more non-chain restaurant options. Fast food options are almost entirely chains but the quality is decent. There are several local sit-down restaurants available and many of them (especially those right off campus) give student discounts with ID.

College Sophomore

Administration: I've only been at Tech one semester and haven't really encountered any issues with the administration. At all.

Scholarships: The financial aid process was incredibly easy. The folks in the financial aid office were very nice and helpful. You can expect to walk right in the office and see someone almost immediately. It's very personable. The amount of aid I was offered was more than enough to meet tuition, books, and related costs. This is one area with which I have been incredibly pleased with Tech.

Campus Food: I haven't been to the Cafe. I know they just this semester made it available to get take-out containers so you don't have to eat in the cafeteria... if that appeals to anyone. I do know that Baz-tech has a few different options (Chik-Fil-A, sandwhich shops, Starbucks, etc). It's not bad... And there are several fast food restaurants just off campus. (Taco Bell, McDonald's, Taco Johns, Wendy's, etc) The Whattaburger off campus is very popular but I wasn't impressed. It's local, though, and the literally across the street from campus. That may be why it's so popular.

Administration: campus police regularly patrol and watch

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: they work to help you

5 College Freshman

Campus Food: great variety and good quality

College Freshman

Campus Housing: I don't live on campus

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: You are not allowed to live off-campus unless you are over 21, married, or live with your parents/relatives in the district. I'm pretty sure they're fairly strict about it too.

College Sophomore

Party Scene: I'm a nuclear physics student, I barely find any free time to relax.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: I come from a small town with only a subway and family owned small restaurants that tend to go out of business quickly. So having all of these choices is great!

College Sophomore

Administration: I haven't seen any stuff go on so I wouldn't know how they handle punishments

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: They've lost a lot of my applications and I ended up not getting any aid when I transferred into the school.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Basically the same food is available every single day and if you're a picky eater you pretty much eat the same thing every single day.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: some of the older buildings are super sketchy looking and don't look like they're worth the price. There are (relatively) expensive choices that are new buildings. I found Turner to be the best comfort to price value.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Everything closes down by 9

3 College Senior

Administration: Some things they're strict with and some they aren't.

4 College Senior

Campus Food: With the addition of Baz-tech, the variety of foods is much better. Not always worth the long lines at lunch, but it's good.

4 College Senior

Campus Housing: It's great to be so close to classes and other people. There are plenty of events in different dorm buildings to help meet new people. Some dorms are better with social atmosphere than others. Turner hall is better if you don't know anybody and want to make friends. Paine is more closed off with having separate bathrooms.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I haven't really investigated what it's like to live off campus but I have been to some places with friends and it seems very easy to find what you are looking for so a reasonable price.

Off-Campus Dining: I enjoy off campus options here. I don't eat off campus very often because I have a meal plan I use well so eating out is sometimes difficult because I don't know what I want with all these options.

Administration: I enjoy Public Safety officers here. They are easy to contact and they know how to handle a situation carefully. I haven't had a problem with anything having to do with the strictness here and I feel like it keeps us all safe and living peacefully here.
