Academics: Professors and the curriculum at Arkansas State are pretty good. They really encourage academic excellence and want the best for their students. They offer special study times for students to meet with the professor in order to fully understand the material. ASU also offers a tutoring program that is really helpful and convenient for all students.

Scholarships: It was average experience, but the conditions to keep the financial aid were a bit unreasonable.

5 College Junior

Athletics: everyone is helpful and if you ever have a problem just ask!

4 College Junior

Technology: There are various computer labs throughout campus; however, it can sometimes be difficult to find an open computer.

Athletics: Arkansas State's athletics are becoming well known across the country. Our football team won back to back conference titles and beat a top 25 team for the first time as a division 1 school in the GoDaddy.com Bowl. Our basketball team has won the Western division of the Sun Belt the past two years, and been very close to making the NCAA tourney. Baseball has become a lot better the past few years and are becoming a powerhouse in the south. Our rugby program is considered one of the best in the nation.

Campus Quality: The facilities are great. Already given a grade once.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: We have some of the best new dorms, in the south. Our Athletic teams, are in the process of getting some new facilities. And our library is the biggest in the state.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: There is a social group for everyone. If you want GREEK, they have GREEK. If you are gay or support it, there is the Gay Straight Alliance. There are several religious groups (Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, etc...) on campus. Political groups hold rallies every election for their parties. There are people of every race, religion, and country on campus.

Diversity: I love state. It has a great atmosphere, and people are always friendly. Sometimes when dealing with the offices, its easier to just go and talk in person. There is always something to do on campus, whether it be an athletic event, or the GREEKS doing something crazy, its always something new. The only downside, a lot of walking if you are in any of the new dorms.

Athletics: Arkansas State University has a great support system through students, athletes, but mainly our community. The school spirit, or as well call it Astate pride, is huge. The campus is decorated with school spirit, students wear encouraging school outfits, and much much more. All of our sports have fans that attend. Especially from the greek life on campus. Team performance and moral is boosted bc we have so many fans. Our facilities are newer and in tip top condition.

Campus Quality: Student life on ASU campus is so much fun. For example, the first week or two of school, they have so many fun activities at our student union. They have music playing, food, dancing, etc. They also hold several career fairs on the lawn of the student union and that is a lot of fun bc you learn about different careers and also get free stuff!

Campus Housing: The freshman dorms at\ ASU College aren't great, but the options are great for upperclassmen. I like to avoid the new dorms and stick with the older ones that are right in the heart of campus."

Technology: The computer labs at ASU College are usually crowded at crunch times, like midterms and finals, but besides that, you can always find a spot. Most people do have their own computers, and with WiFi, it is definitely nice to have your own. If you don't own one, I don't think it would be a huge problem.

Diversity: They try very hard to incorporate. It nice to learn new things and meet people of different backgrounds.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: They are difficult to approach, but ultimately they get the job done and can be helpful sometimes.

Health & Safety: To get to the dorms i live in from town, I have to drive down a street lined with wild frat houses and frat parties which is a huge safety concern due to the excessive drinking at these parties.

4 College Senior

Local Area: The town is friendly and local feeling, however, crime is rising in the area, particularly the shady areas just outside of campus. The rest of the town is a nice place to drive around in.

4 College Junior

Administration: leniency is given to students until strict behavior is necessary.

4 College Junior

Athletics: I work hard for my grades and spend the time required to learn the material.

Diversity: ASU is very diverse. We have a large percentage of international students as well. At ASU many people believe that there is a large percentage of Asians and also Blacks that attend. Asians actually make up about 15% and Blacks make up about 20%. The campus is mostly White at about 45%. ASU is actually very diverse and all races, ethnicities, and religious views all get along without issues. The only issue that occurs within ASU is that there is not a lot of mingaling between the international and American Students. Most Internationals attend class and leave and are not involved on campus activities in any way.

Guys & Girls: Many of the students at Arkansas State University dress conservatively as a whole. There are basically three categories that guys dress code fall under: Business casual, athletic attire, goth/graphic t shirts. Most male students seem to dress in atleast a collared shirt and jeans. Most male athletes wear sweats all day. the remainder would be guys who wear all black with chains and graphic t shirts with random cartoons on it. Women on the other hand are a little easier to categorize. Either they dress nice or tend to just wear all sweats. Most like to dress up for school though. The third most noticeable category for women that is becoming popular is simply wearing a t shirt with norts.

Drug Safety: If you live as a residence on campus there are great measures that go into the policy enforcement. You cannot have alcohol or drugs within the residence halls. There are random inspections which really helps lower the occurances on campus. If you are a member of the Greek community consumption of alcohol does occur, but it is also contained. Authoritative figures are very responsible with drug and alcohol policies and issues are taken care of immediately which also prevents things from getting worse.

Campus Food: Right now the Dining Hall is too crowded. Because of this crowdedness if forces a lot of students to find other options to eat elsewhere when in a hurry. Many students do however turn to our food court which has many great options. I would rate the Dinning Hall at a C, but with the Food Court at an A it brings the overall experience back up to a B. The variety is non existent throughout the normal school year. There are several "specials" such as sea food night, but they only occur about twice a semester. With all of this included i would rate the overall eating experience on campus at a B-.

Greek Life: I went to sorority preview day this week and it was a blast!! All of the Gamma Chi's were so sweet and helpful! It made me so ready to rush! The new houses are beautiful and I can't wait to wear letters!

4 College Sophomore

Technology: The computers a really good; however, the individuals in the computer lab are not helpful at all.
