Local Area: Jonesboro is a terrible place to live. It has gotten better as far as the night life is concerned (as restaurants have adopted liquor licenses) but still remains a flat, hot, isolated, mosquito-infested Delta town. Furthermore, without a car, transportation around town is nearly impossible, and biking is dangerous.

Campus Housing: Overall great (location, cleanliness/maintenance, utilities); however, the apartments and appliances are out-dated.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: Excellent campus security, Pricey Parking, and outrageous little fees for everything. You get what you pay for.....even in education!

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Still an ongoing process trying to get enough aid to sustain my college classes. Hoping some grants & scholorships i've applied for come through.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: Typical majors offered.
tuition depends on whether one is seekeing a 2-yr or 4-yr degree.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: I've worked 20hours per week of volunteer programs related to early childhood education.
As the adult in the room, one must be able to know how to keep children under control, behaved, and minding. The kids are sweet though as well!

3 College Sophomore

Majors: Early childhood education, It's got perks!
Summer break, opportunity for Master's program. A comfortable work place, if one enjoys workin with children.
education degree lets me be opinionated and speak out for what I believe in. Unlike science degrees, education degrees give the ability to think outside the box.

Weather: In Arkansas, it's very hot in the summer. Cold in the winter with snow in the northern half of the state.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: A lot of financial aid is given, so sometimes they get overwhelmed. That being said, you have to be persistent and they will help you. You have to fill out online forms and sometimes the servers are down. Just be patient and persistent.

Transportation: The bus will take you to various locales in town. It is convenient for students that do not have a car. Every student pays for it within tuition so you might as well get your money's worth. You can travel anywhere within town qithin 15 minutes.

Parking: You have to get to campus super early if you want a parking spot. I really wish they would focus on making more parking spots.

4 College Junior

Majors: There are plenty of majors to choose from. I am concerned about finding a teaching job after graduation.

3 College Junior

Academics: The instructors are great, the curriculum is lacking.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Professors are easy to get a hold of, workload is decided by you.

Party Scene: Thursday nights are when all the fun parties happen, as well as college night at the club. Age doesn't matter on Thursday nights.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: You get tired of the food, but good for cafeteria food.

2 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I had a suite mate who smoked marijuana with her boyfriend on our floor of the dorm. When the smoked it the smell lingered in the hall and in our bathroom. The smell was so strong that my room mate and I would complain about it. It stank really bad.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The security on campus is good and there isn't a lot of campus crime. They have emergency phone stands all around campus. I don't know about a lot of the special security measures but our safety services are the through the campus police. I feel very safe on campus.

Drug Safety: The Frat houses have alcohol on campus all week long.

1 College Junior

Administration: The campus police are far too strict and they blockade what should be access road into and out of campus.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Restaurants around ASU are diverse and offer a wide range of food options. However, none offer student discounts which is inconvenient and makes the on campus dining more appealing.

5 College Junior

Diversity: Arkansas State University has students and teachers from all over the world. The students and staff are all very tolerant of all political, religious, and other world views.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: For the most part, the food is good, but it's easy to get bored.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: The local atmosphere around Jonesboro is very nice. There's almost every store you can think of with 10 miles of the campus. I feel safe 99% of the time.

3 College Freshman

Technology: "Free" printing in the library is often unavailable because the printer is down fairly regularly. The availability of a computer in the library is also rare. The wireless on laptops is hardly reliable at all.
