Health & Safety: From what I hear it is pretty good. But I have no personal experience there.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: The financial aid department is overall pretty difficult with all the papers they need.

2 College Freshman

Diversity: There is not all that much diversity. They could use a lot more around here thats forsure.

Off-Campus Housing: From what I have seen it seems to be pretty nice. They have some nice apartment complexes around here that are very clean and affordable.

Campus Housing: It was a horrible experience. The ASU Housing department makes it nearly IMPOSSIBLE to break your lease. I have been trying to get my LAR approved for 4 months now and have been sending them stuff constantly trying to get them to release me. I am in a huge financial struggle and they don't seem to care or have any urgency.

3 College Freshman

Majors: It isn't too bad. But If I were to start over I would definitely chose a different program. I am in exploratory and I just don't find that it's helpful enough. I would have been better off just declaring my major from the beginning.

4 College Freshman

Majors: It was very easy to get in. They made sure it was a quick and easy process.

Off-Campus Dining: The Off-Campus Dining is pretty amazing. There is unlimited joints you can try out and they are all very delicious and pretty affordable.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: The drug scene is definitely around but it isn't overwhelming. I feel very safe.

Greek Life: The Greek life isn't all that bad. But we tend to make the news for all the wrong reasons. It puts a bad taste in everyone's mouth which is disappointing.

3 College Freshman

Weather: The summers in Arizona are very very brutal. But you get use to it and you can't complain because it is such a beautiful state with so many opportunities.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I get paid to go to school! It's nice. I wish they offered more summer scholarships.

Greek Life: ASU Greek life is awful. I hate all the sorority girls and the frat boys are so dumb I want to die talking to them. Greek life always gets in trouble, stuff is always being shut down. I don't know why they bother when they always get shut down.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I don't do drugs or party. This is all just from what I hear in classes.

4 College Sophomore

Technology: I love going to the Durham Language labs in the basement of LL. It's always fairly empty and lots of space to work.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: I don't live on campus, but from what I hear it is pretty laid back

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: They could run another flash shuttle during the morning since it's so busy.

College Sophomore

Party Scene: I don't party. I have no idea where to go or what I would do at a party.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: I like going across the street to Jimmy John's or the Hawaiian BBQ.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: I'm not in athletics, but my friends are in Men's Water Polo.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I love my classes. The foreign language teachers are great.

4 College Sophomore

Weather: It's hot sometimes, but other than that its always perfect weather

3 College Junior

Greek Life: I'm not a part of Greek life, but I'm glad I didn't join. The school already has a bad reputation for being a party school, and most of that is attributed to the parties thrown by Greek life. Students involved in it don't really receive any added benefits to being in it; they get a more comprehensive social scene and are forced to commit to more social events than the average student, but many non-Greeks dislike the Greeks for this reason and also because they seem really entitled. This isn't every member of Greek life - I know plenty of nice people who are a part of it, but most of them just seem like they do it for the partying and not for the philanthropic aspect of it (that's another thing - Greek life says that philanthropy is important to them, but we hardly hear anything about it). As for residences, Greek housing is based everywhere on campus, so no matter where you live there's Greek life.

Athletics: Varsity athletics are a big deal on campus and generate a lot of support from students and faculty. Our school spirit is more geared towards football and basketball season, so other sports aren't really advertised to the students on the same scale. The facilities are very nice for the athletes - the football stadium is currently undergoing renovation, and the student athletes have a lot of amentities for playing Division I sports.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
