2 College Freshman

Party Scene: I don't party so I really don't know what is going on with the party scene.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I live in the biggest dorms on campus, but we are also the farthest from campus so you know, we give and take. But we are also close to a grocery store, the mini walmart, we have a pool, as well as an on site health clinic. So I would say we're winning.

1 College Freshman

Scholarships: I got no scholarships and no financial help. This school is definitely the worst. I will be leaving next year.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: Tempe sucks no offense, except for the Buffalo Exchange. I honestly would rather go to a University in a city not a college town.

3 College Freshman

Administration: I have no idea because I don't do anything (as in drinking and smoking) we were told not to do on campus.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: There is never a day that goes by with someone not wearing their letters, and we see them all over campus. But if you aren't in a sorority there isn't pressure to join one, but it gets annoying seeing them everywhere.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are some good Thai restaurants and place to get Pho. There are also a lot of quaint Hipster hole in the walls.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: I don't care about sports at all, so its pretty ironic that I go to a Division 1 school that puts so much emphasis on their sports teams.

College Junior

Campus Housing: I have never lived on campus.

College Junior

Party Scene: I am not a party goer.

3 College Junior

Academics: Workload for a music major is difficult, but that is the program. I do feel that the credit amount we receive for certain classes is RIDICULOUS. There are times I spend over 5-10 hours on one class that I'm receiving 1 credit for. I also am frustrated that we are not respected for our program. Being a music major is HARD and people think its the easiest thing in the world. I don't feel that I've been given many opportunities for my hard efforts and there are so many talented people that no one ends up being recognized anymore. There are "favorites" within the music school and those people will ALWAYS be the ones receiving money, recognition, opportunity, roles, jobs, internships, etc.

4 College Junior

Majors: The Music Therapy Program in the School of Music is fantastic. There are policies within the School of Music that I do not agree with and find frustrating, but for the most part I am happy with my professors, classes and programs. However, the only reason I came to ASU was for this program and I feel like I am spending SO much money and not seeing a great payoff.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I've lived off campus every year. Unfortunately, I've been disappointed every time. I've lived in 3 very different places, locations and situations and have not enjoyed any of them. I can't afford anything that is close to campus so I have to venture out which never turns out good. #Hassle

1 College Junior

Scholarships: Going into the financial aid office is absolutely THE WORST. I never receive answers to my questions and when I try to ask to talk to someone other than the students at the desk they play it off like no one is there. I avoid it at all costs. I have had to jump through so many hoops trying to get some funding and have been disappointed every time. I'm even graduating early because I feel that the money I would save is much more worth the time at ASU.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: For the most part I feel safe on campus. There are times at night where I am nervous walking by myself. I always pretend i'm on the phone, or call someone for real.

4 College Junior

Local Area: Overall, the Tempe/Phoenix area is pretty great and offers a lot of different things to people of differing tastes.

2 College Junior

Greek Life: I HATE the Greek system here. Its so superficial and gives the school a bad name.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: I live pretty far off campus...it gets much better right in the heart of Tempe

1 College Junior

Athletics: I feel like all of my tuition goes to supporting sports yet we never see a return in amount of wins. Maybe the music school should receive some of that money where there are individuals being nationally recognized.

4 College Junior

Party Scene: from what I've heard, ASU is a pretty fun party school

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I have been very pleased with the organization and service I've recirved since starting at ASU

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: The dorm buildings look nice but I've never been inside

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I don't live in the Tempe area, but I've visites, an in driving around it looks nice

3 College Junior

Scholarships: Government aid was easy to get but I've had difficulties finding scholarships

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: I have always felt safe in Tempe.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
