Administration: The police are pretty strict. ASU was apparently the #1 party school, but now it's not thanks to the authorities.

Diversity: I've found out that there are quite a bit of down low gay students on campus, but there are quite a bit of out students as well. as far as religion and ethnic background goes, it's ASU, so lots of students are international, especially Brazilians.

Scholarships: I need more aid and I don't know where I'm going to get it, but they do cover almost everything. Just not housing or anything major other than my tuition.

Off-Campus Dining: A lot of places available are places I've never heard of or eaten at. Almost all places I've seen have a discount for ASU students and are located within walking distance, or at least bus/shuttle distance

Academics: I find Java for my Computer Systems Engineering major a little difficult, but it's manageable and gets easier.

Academics: There's quite a bit of classes and homework and tests, but if you actually put in effort, you can succeed like me and even get on the dean's list. Office hours are always an option and getting help from other students is too. The only drawback for me is when I get professors with thick accents.

Athletics: There's so much emphasis on big sporting events and supporting our teams. I lived right behind the football stadium, so the fireworks were thunderous. There's even spirit week-like things we do to support our teams like wearing certain clothes or colors.

Local Area: I love transportation because the orbit buses are free and take the same general routes as the other buses. There's a lot of shops and sightseeing to do around Tempe Marketplace as well as on Mill Avenue.

Health & Safety: I walk alone late at night all the time and feel mostly secure. I know nothing will happen to me, but that doesn't mean my guard is ever down. Also, the campus works hard from what I know to prevent crime. They've even amped up police activity to stop parties.

Greek Life: I had nothing to do with the greek life so I can't really review it

Campus Food: I always ate at Manzanita Dining Hall and sometimes Devil's Diner or Devil's Greens. The options were great and the food was exceptional. I especially loved the service I received because the chefs and cashiers were always friendly and sometimes gave me free food.

Guys & Girls: There are very many good-looking guys and girls at the downtown campus. The downtown campus is mostly for health, nursing, nutrition, journalism, communications, and broadcasting majors so most of them really care what they look like. A lot of them are really into going to the gym. Many girls wear work-out outfits even if they don't go work out. I understand though that those clothes are comfortable and also tight-fitting so it's easy for fit girls to wear them day to day. I am even guilty of wearing yoga pants casually. The guys who are fit seem to be super into themselves. I've seen plenty of guys wearing shirts that have only the neckline still left on it with the sleeves completely cut off so only their arm muscles show. There are, of course, what would be your "normal" looking people who respect themselves enough to put on normal clothes that cover the right body parts. There are also some people-mostly girls- who wouldn't wear shorts that just barely cover their butt. I know it's hot out, but some people just don't have that self respect to cover certain areas of their body when they really should. Overall though, there are good-looking people on my campus. I rarely come across someone who is not good-looking.

Health & Safety: I feel very safe downtown actually. Security is always somewhere to be found. You can stand anywhere on campus, do a standing 360 and be able to find a blue light which is where the emergency phones are found. The campus is broken up and spread across quite a few blocks downtown though. It's not one big campus like in Tempe. So during the winter when it gets dark early, I always have to be alert when walking to my car. I don't think security is anywhere near my parking garage which is a mile away. I do feel safer at the downtown campus than I do at the Tempe campus. Downtown is newer and more modern. I think it kicked out a lot of the bums and the low-life people that were once there. ASU takes pride in its campus so I know they work hard to keep it safe.

Off-Campus Housing: All of the off-campus housing is considered "luxurious". The amenities are unlike anywhere else, the apartment complex I live at now is across from campus, brand new, and even has a lazy river. Our off-campus housing options are amazing compared to any other school.

Campus Quality: Like I have mentioned in some other answers, ASU is great because we have the perfect balance of excellent academics along with an excellent college experience.

Campus Quality: Our new recreation center is awesome and brand new, the library is huge and a popular place, our Union is one of the most popular places on campus and has a ton of restaurants and snacks, we have a lot to do on campus and I love ASU

3 College Senior

Athletics: We don't have as much school spirit as SEC schools, but it is decent for a big university. We have nice facilities and they are in process of renovating our baseball and football fields. We have a beautiful new recreation center on campus that everyone loves.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
