4 College Sophomore

Transportation: Plenty of Options – You can cycle or walk to school but they also have the light rail and Orbit buses that pick you up for free and are the most convenient.

1 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking on campus is expensive and hard. The parking cost is so high that most people prefer to walk, cycle or get dropped on campus.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: Best School in the World – ASU is a great school. Diversity and the attitudes students are great.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: The cost is high for living on campus, but worth it. The campus is huge and convenient.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: Lots of Bars – Just need lost of money in your pockets to be able to go to them.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Good Quality, High Cost – Even though there are a great variety of options around the campus with a little better than average quality, the prices are very high for a student who is working hard to pay her/his own college costs. If your parents are paying your college or if you are fully covered by a scholarship, it won't matter. But, if you are getting a loan that you will later have to repay or you are paying yourself right now, it is no fun.

3 Recent Alumnus

Greek Life: Greeks Are There but It's Not Too Important – I know there are plenty of fraternities and sororities but they don't dominate the social scene. You only really hear much about them during Rush when they are trying to get the new freshmen to join.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Food: Great Options for Food! You can get just about anything you want on campus in or near the Student Union. There are fast food places, health food places, and mini markets. Then there are finer restaurants just off campus everywhere. No matter your craving, you can satisfy it.

3 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: Mostly Safe Campus – I have been on campus at most times of the day. I have only felt unsafe once or twice but nothing ever happened. There are security call stations many places, though there could be more. You have to be careful about locking your bike though or it most likely will get stolen.

2 College Freshman

Athletics: Sports at arizona state university strive to be good but fail. So far there are many losses, not just in football but ALL of the sports. it has been disappointing to see the people the picked for the sports can't even play the sports...

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I looked at some of the options for off-campus housing, but since i'm a freshman i can't live off campus yet. I did manage to see the prices, and they were somewhat on the more expensive side, because of the location (closer to campus) and the year the apartment was built.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: The facilities at Arizona State are nice, like I said. We have a student rec. center, where the gym and gym equipment is wonderful. The variety of fast food places is great. The libraries are nice, but not somewhere I would study, just because I don't feel like I'm in a library sometimes. The memorial union (MU) is the place to be, with fast food places everywhere, a bowling alley, pool tables, and many rooms to hold conventions in.

2 College Freshman

Technology: I rarely use the desktops in the library, but they're pretty average, nothing special. The wi-fi connection though is not as good as it should be for how much money we pay in tuition.

1 College Junior

Parking: Permit Costs – The cost of parking permits is absolutely ridiculous! Depending on what campus you go to, the price is better, but on Tempe campus be prepared to drop more than $500 per year.

2 College Junior

Administration: Residential Crackdowns – The campus police are called quite often for noise complaints and suspection of drug and alcohol possesion. Even if you are 21+ campus police will confiscate any alcohol in your room if called. Some residents just don;t know how to party the right way!

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Social Life – The social life here at ASU is rather interesting and fun. After a long, hard week's worth of work, there are many social activities and events in which students can unwind. Not to mention, you are very likey to meet a variety of cute girls.

3 College Junior

Party Scene: Mill Avenue – Mill Avenue right beside campus is where all the bars and popular weekend scenes are at

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: The housing is nothing special. Manzanita is gross but the Barrett Honors College dorms are amazing! They are so eco friendly and spacious

3 College Junior

Local Area: The area is mostly college students so there is a very you vivacious vibe in the area

3 College Senior

Campus Quality: Uniqueness of Campus – ASU has four campuses and they have transportation from one campus to another.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: Safety on Campus – campus safety is good. I have not seen where there has been a serious problem although I do not live on campus.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Padres Modern Mexican Food – The best mexican food in Downtown Phoenix, great environment. Steak Fajitas is my favorite dish.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The average meal plan cost is nowhere near 3000. That's probably the most expensive you can get. Mine is like 1700 and they go as low as 1000. Hassy dining hall sucks but Devils Diner is good. The MU has options for when you get sick of dining hall food. Barret is amaaaazinnnnngggg.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: It's Not That Big of a Deal – Greek life is what you make of it. If you want to join, you'll probably have fun but if you don't it's not a big deal. It won't define your social life. Unless you're a freshman boy, then I would suggest joining a frat to make your partying easier freshman year. Don't join Delta Gamma.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: ASU has a variety of options for you not only in academics but in sports, clubs, and other activities. It gives you a chance to learn new things and everyone is very accepting to the different levels that people are at. I enjoy the variety and I look forward to it everyday.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
