5 College Junior

Technology: I have never had any trouble utilizing the public computer areas. This semester all printing was free for me. I also have a lap top that I take to class daily and the wireless internet is flawless!

5 College Freshman

Campus Quality: Great facilities. Very well kept. All the resources you'd need.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Lots of off-campus choices. Expensive but so is everything else in Tempe.

5 College Sophomore

Weather: The only thing students have to worry about is the heat. No snow and typically no rain. Classes can be spread out but many students ride bikes or skateboard to make their trips to and fro much faster and also easier to avoid the heat. Winter is amazing. You won't freze to death and the sun is usually always shining when you have class.

Transportation: Surprisngly there are several modes of transportation around ASU. There are free buses that run between all the ASU campuses that are accessable for students. There is a light rail system that runs from Mesa to Phoenix and is convenient and cheap. Also you can drive to the campus but parking is typically limited and sometimes rather pricey.

Drug Safety: The drug scene at Arizona State University is virtually non-noticeable. As always though, it depends who you hang out with.

Campus Quality: ASU campus is so beautiful. When you think of AZ you think that it is just hot. I live in the dorms and where iI live I have access or I'm close to everything that I need to succed.

Health & Safety: ASU health and safety is excellent. Campus crime is reported immediately and warnings are posted informing students of anything that has happened. There are plenty of ASU police riding around, either in police vehicles or on campus walking around. The dorm I am in requires you to be buzzed in the security gate surrounding the buildings and then you have to use a key to get to the stairs and to get onto your floor. There are police call out stations all throughout campus and they have a blue light at the top, so they are very visible. You can call for an escort any time to walk you home, to class or any where you might need to go on campus. Also, ASU take crimes very seriously and they punish individuals accordingly.

Campus Housing: I am a junior myself so I am living in upperclassman dorms. The dorms are apartment style so even though I am technically in a dorm, it does not feel like it. I personally do not mind where I live and it has been perfect for my needs while living here. The cost is not bad, however, it does depend on what room you get. If you get a room living with 3 other people, it can be quite crammed for how much you are paying. The housing process was quite simple, very straight forward and quick. It is easy to make friends here, however, you have to make yourself available in the halls, that is how you bump into people!

Campus Quality: I love the student life here at ASU. There is a library open 24 hours for ASU students and it is very convenient for me. The campus activities and traditions really try to get the student body involved and get the school spirit going! I love love love the student recreation center and I very much appreciate everything it has to offer, which is a lot! It was definitely an improvement from the gym I use to go to. I love being a part of ASU community and student life.

Campus Quality: ASU is a very great school. They care about you as a student and as an individual. They want to make sure you are successful, happy, safe, and involved with the community here at ASU. The teachers are all great: very intelligent individuals and I feel myself already growing and maturing as a person from living and going to school here. I am very excited for what is ahead and I do plan on becoming more involved with my community. GO DEVILS!

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: The girls definitely live up to the ASU name. Although, good luck trying to find a relationship with a decent girl as most of them have boyfriends.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: There is definitely a wide array of people going here. People from all ethnicities, economic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and beliefs go here and live on the same floors. My group of friends is very diverse and we all are accepting of one another.

4 College Freshman

Academics: For journalism, ASU is probably the best option. Professionals currently in the field teach classes part time. Opportunities are plentiful as well. Freshmen can get involved instantly.

Off-Campus Housing: most places are gorgeous AZ style apartments/houses with pools and palm trees!!!!!!!! nothing better!

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: No greek housing, Fraternities have "complexes". AKA a whole apartment building with each room housed by brothers.

4 College Freshman

Academics: I am only a freshman so I am only taking my general classes right now. But as a business student, it is easier than I thought it would be but you definitely need to put in the time to get a good grade.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: I think athletics is a huge part of ASU. The football games are so much fun. There are events to attend before the game, which are really fun.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Arizona State is an amazing campus and it has many things to do. They are expanding so it will be even better. The teachers are nice and helpful. Of course there are some teachers that I can't understand and don't put up grades but what college doesn't have them?

2 College Freshman

Greek Life: I myself am a part of Greek Life and I love it. Since ASU is such a large school, there are many other organizations and groups so Greek Life does not "run the school." The parties are really fun but if you aren't a part of Greek Life, you won't have any troubles finding other parties.

5 College Freshman

Academics: I am a freshman at ASU and just from my first semester, I have been shown the many resources that the psychology department offers to its students. Many of the psychology classes are hands-on and allow you to actively interact with professors and subjects. As part of a graduation requirement, students are required to conduct a research study pertaining to their field of study. Additionally, ASU offers many internship opportunities and helps you find ones best suited for your interests and major.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: I received my financial aid through the state of Arizona as an in-state resident. The process was seamless, I didn't have to deal with any of the processing because ASU took care of it all.

4 College Freshman

Academics: ASU offers many resources to help you succeed in your classes. I have a great advisor who helps me with pretty much every question I have about my psychology major and registering for classes. The workload can be intense, but as long as you manage your time wisely it's not that difficult. Hayden Library is probably the most popular place for people to study. Even though it does get crowded, there are many places for people to work without being interrupted.

3 College Freshman

Weather: It gets very hot walking across campus to classes.

Diversity: The people at Arizona State University vary in the best way. Everyone is very accepting of the numerous international and out of state students that attend. I've sat on the ASU buses and heard Russian, German, and a variety of Asian languages. I know people from Indian, Bulgaria, Taiwan, Croatia, and New Zealand. There are a wide variety of religions and political beliefs as well. It can get heated at times, but it is more of a discussion of beliefs than unacceptance of a person's right to their own beliefs. For sexual orientation, it is pretty well accepted, but there will always be the few people that are rude and ignorant.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
