4 College Freshman

Academics: As a student in the business school, I have had the best proffessors, and a curriculum that makes me feel like the things I'm learning are useful. The workload is more than average, but not overwhelming.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: ASU is a dry campus is next fall it will be a tobacco free campus. Parties do happen nearby off campus but you get in big trouble if you're caught on campus using or in possession of anything.

4 College Freshman

Academics: I'm in the business school, and they have so many resources to offer you whether it's tutoring, internships, networking oppurtunities, or scholarships. The business school is top notch.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are lots of options for students to eat off-campus. It is also really nice because they are all close to campus so if you are tired of campus food then you can just go down the block to eat at an actual sit down restaurant.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I really enjoy living on campus and my dorm is fairly nice. I have everything I need fairly close to me so it makes things very convenient but it is incredibly expensive to live on campus when you are an out of state student.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: This campus is incredibly diverse and that is actually one of the reasons that I chose ASU. It is incredible to be apart of so many cultures coming together at one university.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Alcohol is everywhere. You can avoid it if you find other people who don't drink, but almost everyone has alcohol in their dorm rooms. Weed is also everywhere. It is easy to avoid as well.

5 College Freshman

Academics: I'm in the School of Human Evolution and Social change, and I love it! There is so much to learn and our school has some of the top researchers in the country. We have the scientist who discovered "lucy" which is really awesome to get to be able to learn from him.

4 College Freshman

Weather: It is sunny and bright almost every day of the year. Even now during the fall, it is 80 degrees out. Sometimes it would be nice to have cooler weather, because starting school when it is still 110+ outside makes walking anywhere, very, very hot.

Campus Quality: Being one of the largest schools in the nation, it has so many opportunities. Many different clubs and organizations that you can get involved in as well as plenty of sports. There are alot of internships available too.

Off-Campus Dining: There are many great places to eat just off campus on Mill Ave as well as plenty of fast food places next to campus.

3 Recent Alumnus

Majors: I am a civil engineer. the overall engineering program is fantastic, but civil engineering just does not interest me. I will be switching to mechanical engineering which will be better for me.

4 Recent Alumnus

Administration: I have not had any problems with the police force and when they do shut down any parties they are polite about it as long as those partying are under control.

3 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: The process was not too much of a hassle but I did not recieve enough financial aid to get me through college.

5 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: The guys are the hot, sporty, athletic types. The girls are extremely gorgeous for the most part, and pretty nice for the most part as well.

Off-Campus Dining: There are restaurants everywhere. I have lived in this area for several years and I go out to eat all the time. Yet I have never eaten at all of the restaurants. All have great service and delicious food options.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are plenty of places to choose from. Surrounding areas of ASU can be affordable and are a nice tight knit community if you get to know your neighbors.

5 College Junior

Technology: I have never had any trouble utilizing the public computer areas. This semester all printing was free for me. I also have a lap top that I take to class daily and the wireless internet is flawless!

5 College Freshman

Campus Quality: Great facilities. Very well kept. All the resources you'd need.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Lots of off-campus choices. Expensive but so is everything else in Tempe.

5 College Sophomore

Weather: The only thing students have to worry about is the heat. No snow and typically no rain. Classes can be spread out but many students ride bikes or skateboard to make their trips to and fro much faster and also easier to avoid the heat. Winter is amazing. You won't freze to death and the sun is usually always shining when you have class.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: Surprisngly there are several modes of transportation around ASU. There are free buses that run between all the ASU campuses that are accessable for students. There is a light rail system that runs from Mesa to Phoenix and is convenient and cheap. Also you can drive to the campus but parking is typically limited and sometimes rather pricey.

Drug Safety: The drug scene at Arizona State University is virtually non-noticeable. As always though, it depends who you hang out with.

Campus Quality: ASU campus is so beautiful. When you think of AZ you think that it is just hot. I live in the dorms and where iI live I have access or I'm close to everything that I need to succed.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: ASU health and safety is excellent. Campus crime is reported immediately and warnings are posted informing students of anything that has happened. There are plenty of ASU police riding around, either in police vehicles or on campus walking around. The dorm I am in requires you to be buzzed in the security gate surrounding the buildings and then you have to use a key to get to the stairs and to get onto your floor. There are police call out stations all throughout campus and they have a blue light at the top, so they are very visible. You can call for an escort any time to walk you home, to class or any where you might need to go on campus. Also, ASU take crimes very seriously and they punish individuals accordingly.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
