Campus Quality: Alot of Opportunities for Internships and Research! My school provides a lot of internship fairs and even some internship classe that you can take. For example, for me I took a Kinesiology internship class and the school has an affiliation with a lot of physical therapy clinics around the area, they helped me find a place and now im working there. Also, there are many research projects that allow undergrads to work as research assistants, it is an awesome experience!

Transportation: Parking is expensive so a lot of people rely on public transportation. I think it is great! There some buses that are free and take you around the Tempe area. The most convenient for me has been the lightrail it goes from Phoenix to Mesa AZ stopping at both the downtown campus of ASU and the tempe campus. It is very punctual!

Technology: Convenient Wifi Printers – There are a lot of computer labs and areas at Arizona State University, the locations are very accessible whether you are looking for a quiet place to study on your own or a more group setting. The only thing is that sometimes computers can be kind of slow starting up. There is wireless internet all over campus so that is not a problem with with people with their own laptops. The great thing is the wifi printing program that lets you program the printers from every computer lab and you just log in and print from your own laptop, it saves a lot of time!

Local Area: Love the Area! Tempe, AZ which is where the main campus of Arizona State University is located is a small town but there are so many things to do. The lightrail is a very convenient form of transportation which helps us to save a lot on parking and gas and we can get to downtown phoenix and to the other campus as well. There are several mountains nearby that are great for hiking!

Party Scene: Party All Night! There is always something to do out here no matter the age. Asu is considered #1 party school around here and they surely do live up to that standard.

Campus Food: Very Wide Variety – Places around campus are excellent. I dont feel like im eating the same stuff everyday and i feel like a have many choices to choose from. Can be a little expensive but great food and service.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: The financial aid process is somewhat long but it is very worth it. It would help if they had more computers at the financial aid office and receive help in there.

Campus Food: Personally I feel that the food around campus is decent but it could be better. They all offer fast food services which is not healthy for students. There are some options where students can consume healthier foods but it is very scarce.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: House Parties – All clubs around here are for those who are 21+ with very little exceptions. Parties at The Vue are extremely overrated and usually turn out lame, don't waste your time. Most frat parties are the same way, it'd be best to send someone ahead to see what it's like before you head over. Usually house parties are the places to hit.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: The guys are short, but tan. The girls are mostly blonde. Rave culture is very big out here and all you'll hear at parties is house music.

Campus Housing: Not the Worst – Hassayampa and Barrett are the best dorms to live in on campus and it's usually only freshmen who reside in any of the dorms. Most upperclassmen live in Vista Del Sol, or some other apartment complex off campus. The dorm rooms are very spacious compared to most other colleges I've seen, however, the plumbing in Hassy in particular is pathetic as is the shower pressure. Overall, it could be worse.

Athletics: School Spirit – There is a lot of school spirit at ASU. Many parents are involved as well. The football team is also well known by all the students so we get excited when there are games.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Social Life – Arizona State is a very social university and always has events going on. The student council put on a lot of school events for freshman to engage them as well as every other age group.

Diversity: There are many races at Arizona State University. There are clubs that bring them together and there are a few sororities and fraternities for different races.

2 College Junior

Transportation: Terrible Transpo – Permits for parking are outrageous! and access is terrible. I have had my car broken into, and nothing was done. I see lots of police giving tickets and towing cars, and nobody catching thieves~!

Guys & Girls: Our Kids – Best looking, best attitude, best outlook, our kids rock!

Local Area: ASU has a great support mechanism. The town of Tempe and the people of Phoenix in general. Since we are a tourist destination with year round activities, we abound with sports and entertainment venues, as well as a plethora of cultural diversity and educational opportunities. Phoenix supports ASU, and ASU supports Phoenix. It's a win win situation!

Overall Experience: My experience at ASU has been okay. By being such a big school, it is hard to meet people if you do not know anyone without joining a fraternity or a sorority.

1 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking at ASU is horrible. The spots are very far from most dorms and apartments making it unsafe to walk home from the parking structure. Also, there is limited parking, so no guests can visit their friends. The parking passes are also very expensive making it difficult to get a pass.

Party Scene: The nightlife is okay at ASU. The police ruin it by being too strict on students who are not being a nuisance to the public around them and giving them Minor in Consumptions.

Drug Safety: The police at ASU and Tempe is too strict about alcohol around campus because it is dry. They give everyone Minor in Consumptions, even if they are simply just walking to their dorm late at night. They need to be more lenient.

Academics: Communications majors occupy a large percentage of students at ASU. With so many eager and ready-to-learn students, there is a lot of people you can connect with within the major. This is good because you can always study with someone and find people within your classes that you already know.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: I have paid for college out of pocket throughout my college attendance. In high school I did not qualify for any scholarship or grants according to FASFA, which back then was not user friendly. Currently I can not afford tuition and have applied for scholarships which I wish I knew was available for everyone and applied for FASFA which has revamped the system making it so much easier to apply. Although high school students are constantly told to apply for scholarships there should be some more guidence and education in order to best serve the students.

Diversity: Diverse Demographic – ASU is a host of a very demographic student body. Perhaps depending on your degree the population may be different but as a campus the school has a number of students from across the U.S.A and other countries. Having a diverse student body provides a greater learning experience as it provides students the opportunity to gain cultural competences from their classmates.

3 College Senior

Academics: I applied to ASU to be close to home and because of the education opportunities available. I went into the social work program after being unsure of what career I wanted to pursue for two years. At first the program was great: classes and professors were great. The downtown campus has a great atmosphere and is developing quickly. Issues with professors, advisors, and classes seem to go unaddressed and this has been a personal experience along with things that have been said from classmates. I enjoy the school but I am unsure on whether I would like to complete my masters at the school because I do not want the same issues to arise. I do appreciate the professors that are professional and have the education and experience to teach and make the class worthwhile. Just like any tree there are some bad apples that tend to bring more stress and disappointment then what is needed.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
