Campus Quality: Not What Is Expected of a School in the Desert – Our campus is BEAUTIFUL. Green grass, palm trees and even a lake right next to campus. Currently there is no swimming in the lake (due to the fact that it was recently refilled) but supposedly in a few years it will be swimmable, however there is still a rowing and other boating on the lake. Green recreational fields, well equipped gym, large pool, most of the time there is beautiful sunny weather, multiple libraries allows for plenty of places for group meetings/study seshes or individual studying, and campus is flat so, even though it may be a long walk to class, its not going to be an excessively tiring walk to class (plus the flat makes it really easy to longboard, bike, or use any other manual transportation to get to class).

Health & Safety: Safe as Anywhere Else – I personally have never felt unsafe anywhere on or around campus at any time of the day. I have even gone on lone and group runs around the campus at midnight to clear my mind and I have never been worried about my safety. There is some crime around campus, mostly at night, but we are a big school so it's to be expected. For our size, the crime I hear about is surprisingly lower than what I would expect. Plus there are the Blue Emergency light things all over and plenty of campus security around at all hours.

Administration: Do You Best Work – The upmost quality of students is required. Upmost behavior, quality of work, studying etc.

Local Area: My Local Atmoshphere – I live in God's oven; Phoenix, Arizona. It's always sunny no gloomy days. There's plenty of activities to do if you can sustain the heat. For my taste, there is not enough museums but plenty else to do. People are friendly, streets are clean and smooth-- no bumps or potholes; it's smooth driving. Arizona is overall, hot but lovely.

Overall Experience: "It's Time." – ASU is a really good college. Welcome Week is a lot of fun along with football games. If you come to this school and aren't used to football fanatics be prepared! Everyone is so spirited when it comes to the football games here. I would choose ASU again because it is a lot of fun and also a really good school.

Campus Quality: Top Notch – All of the facilities at ASU are top notch. The SRC is really nice and they are renovating it as we speak. All the libraries on campus are excellent as well. As far as campus activities go, there is always something going on - ASU is the biggest school in the country!

Local Area: The local atmosphere in Tempe is really awesome. There is always something to do in the valley. Mill Avenue, Tempe Marketplace, and other surrounding areas are always full of things to do.

Administration: MIC's (underage drinking tickets for those of you from out-of-state) are frequent in the dorms...but if you're smart and have a cool CA (community assistant) chances are that you don't have much to worry about. Your best bet at avoiding an MIC is to drink off-campus since ASU is technically a "dry campus"...(I know, quite laughable seeing as we are one of the top party schools in the country year after year)

Greek Life: Greek life at ASU is much different than Greek life at Southern schools, but different doesn't necessarily mean worse. With ASU being such a large school, Greek life doesn't completely dominate the social scene, however if you are in a reputable fraternity or sorority, chances are that you will have no complaints about a lack of parties...even if they aren't frat parties. Since the Greek population at ASU tends to showcase some of the best looking girls and guys at ASU, they really have no problem getting into any problem, especially the sorority girls. But aside from parties, Greek rank really does have positive impacts on those who decide to go Greek and on the community. Greeks do community service projects and philanthropies throughout the year, raising thousands of dollars for various charities. It also is a great resource in terms of networking and building lasting friendships. Although Greek life is not for everyone, and you will not necessarily be frowned upon if you don't go Greek...most Greeks absolutely love being in a fraternity or sorority here. It all comes down to which house you are in, which if you go through recruitment or rush with an open mind, should be the right fit for you!

Guys & Girls: And that is because the girls are stunning, and when the girls are as hot as they are at ASU...good-looking guys will flock there. ASU consistently ranks at the top of nearly every list for having the hottest girls in the country, and rightfully so. Take a walk down palm walk on the way to class and prepare to see 10 after 10 pass you by. With the weather as nice as it is, hopefully you don't mind bikini-clad girls everywhere you look nearly year round. It's nearly impossible to be disappointed. Daniel Tosh came to ASU for his campus invasion this year strictly because of how hot the girls are...and ASU didn't even apply. Yes, the girls are THAT hot.

Administration: Extremely Strict – In my dorm room there are security guards at the front desk, who you have to check guests into before entering the elevators. We all have cards we have to scan to get into the elevators and scan to open the elevator doors. There is no way to take the stairs up, you must take the elevators and go past the security desk. The police are everywhere as well. If you're reported smoking or underage drinking, they will arrest you. We can only let people spend the night a couple days a month and the security cameras are everywhere.

Athletics: Arizona State is extremely passionate about football, I think the fans may be more crazy than the actual players themselves. If one thing can bring everyone together in unity, it's a football game.

Scholarships: Don't Procrastinate – Funding your college education is a process for any school. There is a maximum subsidized loan amount allowed for students, according to their year of study. I would suggest that students talk to someone who knows the ins and outs of financial aid and do it soon. I did not and now I am stressed out and unable to sign up for classes next semester, due to my account hold.

Campus Quality: Being a Sun Devil – The privilege of being a sun devil is a great feeling and something to be proud of. Attending an ASU football games is one of the most exciting experiences in Arizona. The atmosphere is almost overwhelmingly joyous. Following the games, or maybe just a long day of classes, students can mosey on over to Mill Avenue for a drink. Mill Ave. offers an abundance of bars sprinkled with a few clubs; always a good time to be had.

Local Area: There are many exciting cites in downtown Phoenix. There are numerous towering big businesses, as well as ASU's new college of health and innovation. With the nearby shopping center is a surplus of stores, attractions, and restaurants in the area. There is bound to be something of interest for all ages.

Campus Quality: Campus Life – At the Downtown Phoenix Campus there isn't much near by, but a convenient light rail ride takes you to the lively main campus.

Off-Campus Dining: Jimmy John's – Decent food
Quickly made
Closes EARLY
They don't "stuff" their sandwiches
Expensive for what it is

3 College Freshman

Campus Quality: Downtown Phoenix Campus – Everything is relatively close together, but there is not much at all to do in the city.

3 College Senior

Diversity: Mixed Bag – There are a lot of Hispanic, Asian and Indian students. They are quite insular though.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: Campus Security – Tempe and the surrounding area can be rough. You should watch your laptop and wallet/purse. I feel safe walking around alone as a large male athlete, but I wouldn't walk around by myself if I was a girl.

5 College Senior

Campus Quality: Alot of Opportunities for Internships and Research! My school provides a lot of internship fairs and even some internship classe that you can take. For example, for me I took a Kinesiology internship class and the school has an affiliation with a lot of physical therapy clinics around the area, they helped me find a place and now im working there. Also, there are many research projects that allow undergrads to work as research assistants, it is an awesome experience!

Transportation: Parking is expensive so a lot of people rely on public transportation. I think it is great! There some buses that are free and take you around the Tempe area. The most convenient for me has been the lightrail it goes from Phoenix to Mesa AZ stopping at both the downtown campus of ASU and the tempe campus. It is very punctual!

4 College Senior

Technology: Convenient Wifi Printers – There are a lot of computer labs and areas at Arizona State University, the locations are very accessible whether you are looking for a quiet place to study on your own or a more group setting. The only thing is that sometimes computers can be kind of slow starting up. There is wireless internet all over campus so that is not a problem with with people with their own laptops. The great thing is the wifi printing program that lets you program the printers from every computer lab and you just log in and print from your own laptop, it saves a lot of time!

4 College Senior

Local Area: Love the Area! Tempe, AZ which is where the main campus of Arizona State University is located is a small town but there are so many things to do. The lightrail is a very convenient form of transportation which helps us to save a lot on parking and gas and we can get to downtown phoenix and to the other campus as well. There are several mountains nearby that are great for hiking!

5 College Freshman

Party Scene: Party All Night! There is always something to do out here no matter the age. Asu is considered #1 party school around here and they surely do live up to that standard.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
