Guys & Girls: ASU is a huge school so you will find a variety of different people. When you walk to classes on campus you will notice beautiful people whether it is a guy or girl. The dress style is very casual because of the good weather. There are a vareity of clubs to get invovled in, so the social status you have will be decided upon you and what you try and get out of the clubs, people, and your surroundings.

Weather: Obviously, we all know that the summer time in Arizona is outrageous. It is extremly hot as you walk to class where you end up dripping in sweat as you walk through the door. However, the winter time weather makes up for it because starting in November we experience nights at a minumium of 70 degrees. Little rain. Sunshine during the day, with a few gloomy days. With beautiful sunsets. The weather is great here, and you only expereince the extreme heat conditions for about 2-3 months.

Diversity: I think ASU has a variety of different ethnicites, exspecially since there are many international students.

Drug Safety: The drug scene is neutral, you have your kids who do them and you don't, just like any college you attend too. There is a strict enforcment upon drinking and drugs through police, resident hall associates, and etc. Peer pressure, we are in college now which means we have better common sense, so peer pressure is not a huge factor. Just depends on who you associate yourself with.

Greek Life: Greek life is slowly winding down at ASU. All the fraternities have been kicked off campus and must find houses to keep their legacies alive. Sororities are still going strong and have a great following.

Campus Quality: Arizona State has an awesome feel on campus. Very modern buildings and it seems like the campus is receiving new modern buildings every year. We have a huge Student Union where people hangout between class to play pool, bowling, arcade, get a bit to eat, or even hangout at the bar.

Campus Quality: My schools campus life if amazing. Beautiful people everywhere as well as the campus set-up and scenery are awesome. We also have some of the top schools in the country like the business, engineering, nursing, and journalism schools.

2 College Junior

Diversity: The general demographic is white with a few minority races and religions. The outreach to the minority demographic is horrible and something they need to work on.I would highly recommend to join a club with your race or religion if you are in the minority.

Campus Food: ASU has a very diverse selection when it come to food. We have many dining halls that provide a wide selection for students with meal plans. In addition to dining halls, ASU also has many on campus fast food vendors, which come in handy when you're in a rush to get to class. There are also a lot of nice restaurants close by on University and Mill Ave.

5 College Freshman

Party Scene: ASU is an amazingly fun campus. There are always parties and clubs to got to. If you are of drinking age, Mill Ave is a great place to have fun. If you are not 21

Health & Safety: I usually always feel safe at ASU. There are only a few small concerns when it comes to safety. Due to the size of our campus, traveling alone at night can be somewhat scary. There are a few unlit pathways that be a little unnerving at times. I suggest traveling on groups at night. However, the majority of my ASU experience has felt very safe and secure.

Athletics: The ASU football and basketball teams are an amazing part of student life. Going to games and supporting our teams brings a sense of unity to such a large campus. Smaller teams and intramural sports are also a fun way to get involved.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Huge variety in the students. From young and old, to punk and girly, there is a huge diversity in students! You can tell Greeks from non greeks though and then there is a lot of foreign students as well.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Housing is great! I have no complaints about the Barrett dorms and Ive seen other dorms like Hassy and Sonora and they are all relativily nice and have good set ups. Barretts bathrooms are by far the best though, just saying! Maintenance is good and timely when you need something done to the room too.

Health & Safety: There are times at night in unlit areas that I dont feel too safe and there is a lot of construction right now so at night its a little scary. There is a lack of emergency phones in high traffic areas which could be do to the construction but still needs to be addressed. For the most part though I feel safe on campus

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: the dining on campus is very expensive but pretty nice. there is alot of options especially for vegans.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: the dorms are nice and very close to classes. the amenities are great and everything is very accessible. the dorms are moderately priced but a bit expensive still and the housing process is very easy.

Health & Safety: there is crime on campus but there are systems put in place so that one can be aware of what is going on. there are campus police and asu alert text messages to keep students safe.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: there are available off campus options but Tempe is a smaller city and it can be difficult to find a safe environment.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: You are forced to buy a meal plan that costs thousands of dollars. Otherwise the food is good and includes options for vegetarians, and there are several places to eat besides the main dining halls. Overall it's about average.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: There are free shuttles constantly moving around the Tempe campus that always seem to be within a minute of their expected arrival times. The light rail goes straight through the campus and goes from Mesa to Phoenix and back. There are shuttles driving back and forth between the other campus. There's a special deal for an "ASU Pass" for students that lasts for the school year and costs less than normal bus tickets. And there's plenty of roads and parking garages (that may be somewhat expensive) if you have a car.

1 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The housing is overpriced for typical or engineering on-campus dorms, and way overpriced for Barrett dorms. The normal dorms are the stereotypical college dorms with tiny rooms, shared bathrooms, and bad insulation/cooling. The Barrett dorms are actually very nice, but the bathrooms are still shared.

For food, you are forced to buy a meal plan, and have to go through lengthy legal documents if you have some religious reason to not eat food, otherwise they will try to work around your diet. The meal plan is more expensive than just buying groceries.

The housing would be slightly above average and might get a c+ or B if ASU didn't try to nickle and dime their students for everything.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: Get to parking lot EARLY...especially on the first day. The Parking permits are OUTRAGEOUSLY priced, so be prepared to pay a pretty penny for a good lot. Also, you are paying for the lot, not a spot. You could have a permit for the best lot, but have awkwardly-timed classes and end up in a spot that is pretty far away.

4 College Sophomore

Technology: I've had no problems with their computers. The ones at Fletcher Library at the West Campus are a bit slow, but nothing too frustrating!

5 College Freshman

Campus Quality: I think the most outstanding thing about ASU is how much there is to do on campus and around campus. You don't even have to join a club and there are still all kinds of events going on. This includes breakfasts and study parties, concerts, football games and basketball games, and so much off campus. Downtown is close enough on the Light Rail, Mill Avenue is a block off campus, and the Tempe Marketplace is only a few blocks away.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
