4 College Freshman

Local Area: It's a great college town, lots of fun while your here but if I wasn't attending ASU I probably wouldn't like it much.

3 College Freshman

Administration: Lots of people get in trouble for stupid reasons; if you're smart you'll be fine if you're trying to drink or do anything of that nature. Parking is a bitch and you will get a ticket without a doubt, don't take any chances. If your roommate is cool, people can stay in your dorms as long as you want, my suitemate's boyfriend lives in her dorm with her

Campus Housing: Some dorms are better than others. Manzanita and Hassy are the most favored, I stay in San Pablo (which no one really even knows about) and it's very spacious and I actually really love it. Most of my major related classes are right across the street.

Greek Life: It seems great, but a lot of people speak poorly of it. Personally, I'm rushing next year. If you're a girl you don't need to join, if you're a guy it gets you into parties a lot easier.

Guys & Girls: I'm lucky to have made the friends I did, but I've overheard way too many stuck up and shallow comments by people. Keep in mind, it's a predominately white population.

Scholarships: They gave me a "Dean's Award" that typically makes my out-of-state tuition the same as it would be for an in-stater, but if I decide to become a resident they take the money away. So it was pretty much a way to get me to choose their school, I think. As for loans, the process was pretty easy but not much was given.

Health & Safety: Generally speaking, I feel safe walking alone and stuff like that. At parties, I do worry when people get too drunk because I've personally been in a rough situation with a drunk guy, and so have some friends of mine.

Off-Campus Dining: There's Mill Ave, which is right by the school. It's full of restaurants, bars, and shops. There's all types of cuisine, mostly sandwich and burger places though. But look around and you can find whatever your heart desires.

Athletics: The amount of support our athletics teams receive is tremendous. Camping out for football tickets has to be the best experience I've had, and basketball games are so much fun.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Don't wait to apply for FAFSA, or other scholarships through the school. Take advantage of contacting the financial aid office with any questions; they were very helpful and provided me with help and solutions to my problems.

3 College Senior

Administration: Strict on certain policies more than others, mainly alcohol/drug ones. Parking can be a hassle.

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: Good housing. Dorms are alright. Hassayampa is regarded as best (along with Barrett honors college). Palo Verde is not very social or roomy.

Greek Life: Greek life is very rewarding. It develops relationships for future success in the business world outside of college. They do many community service/philanthropic events. Non-Greeks tend to undermine the true value of Greek life and refuse to give it a chance.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: No real issues, a simple online process.

4 College Senior

Majors: A lot of interesting majors with a lot of good opportunities.

3 College Senior

Local Area: Good atmosphere overall, but could use more attractions.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are tons of places to go to with such a wide variety to choose from in both taste and cost.

4 College Junior

Majors: Admission was easy and as long as you like lots of sciences, you'll do fine. Sciences can be very hard, but the professors are pretty helpful.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: The scholarship portal is a great feature and easy to use, especially when the same questions are used for multiple applications. You can just copy and paste.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek pledge week and membership clothing and accessories are all I've noticed. I go to school for school then come home. I'm not very involved.

4 College Junior

Administration: Each class reminds students about academic honesty and there are several programs used by professors to ensure this.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: hardly no aid for out of state students, sucks!!!!

Athletics: ASU, LET'S GO SUNDEVILS! FOOTBALL & BASKETBALL are the best

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: A bunch or burgers and sandwich shops. Gotta look for the right place to eat

Off-Campus Housing: Sucks to have to pay rent and tons of additional expenses. It is better to pay one lump sum and live on campus...

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
