Scholarships: Scholarships are fairly regular at ASU, provided you know where to look. Most students receive some small grant upon enrolling, however if one wants to have a genuine social life, be prepared to lose this scholarship with in the year. A great boon in applying for additional scholarships is the counselors. Check Emails they send out as there are often times multiple different potential scholarships to be found within.

Party Scene: The Party scene at ASU depends greatly on your social situation. As with many aspects of life, you get out of it what you put in. Generally, the best and most enjoyable parties are greek related which can pose a problem to any non affiliated or GDI students. If you know a brother or arrive with enough (ahem) lady friends, this should not be a problem for you. Otherwise, house parties are often fun and some individuals make a habit of throwing all inclusive parties that any one can attend, provided they pay. For those over 21, Mill avenue is the place to be as it is full of Bars and great places to drink. Just watch out for the sound of sirens as the Campus- and city- cops don't mess around when handing out citations or arrests. Party at your own risk.

Administration: The administration is easy to contact and usually quite understanding.

Scholarships: Initially I got all I needed quickly and easily but then a mix-up with in-state citizenship occured.

Party Scene: I personally don't party very much but when I have gone to them, everyone was friendly and inviting and active.

Campus Food: There is a lot of variety and quality on the main campus as well as a multitude of fast food options.

Campus Housing: Campus housing for the ASU polytechnic campus is spacious and convenient.

Campus Food: While some of the options in the dining halls or at devils diner can be criticized for lacking in variety from day to day and week to week, the fast food and alternate dining options provided on campus are varied enough that a student can eat enough without getting bored. Devil's Greens is also a nice substitute when trying to find a healthy meal, however other than that, most food falls on the more fattening side. The Pod Market is a favorite of mine because it provides canned options or Trader Joe style meals that can be made in the dorms, which comes in handy when one has too much work or studying and can't find time to go out to eat.

Campus Housing: Living on campus is, as one might expect, a mixed bag at times, however it is generally a very pleasant experience. The residence halls are kept very clean and have a new, modern aesthetic about them. All of the residence halls are within a quick walk to every class a student would possibly be enrolled in. Additionally, there are a variety of dining options available. some of the Halls actually include a dining hall or market. The food provided at these cafeterias is decent however after a few consecutive meals there, a student can hardly be blamed for wanting a change. That change is easy to find because all of the halls are within easy walking or biking distance to any of the restaurants on mill or the MU, which is the center of activity on campus. The rooms themselves are generally spacious and clean- it's the people you room with you might need to watch out for! overall, on campus living is a generally pleasurable and enjoyable experience for a first year student.

Off-Campus Housing: Many convenient options, and it's most likely cheaper to live off-campus. I enjoy it a lot more than dorm-life.

Health & Safety: There are resources on campus to get free rides or escorts if you don't feel safe walking by yourself.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
