4 College Freshman

Athletics: Our school spirit is overwhelming as well as student involvement. Its amazing the level of enthusiasm and support that is brought to each sporting event. Team performance is really good. Our teams are amazing PAC-15 teams and I am happy to say I go to Arizona State.

1 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I'm sure my experience is skewed because I lived in the room right next to the lounge, but it was an awful experience and I couldn't wait to get out. The walls are stupidly thin and I would be kept up until past midnight because of people talking and slamming doors. Quiet hours were supposed to start at 9, but they were rarely, if ever, enforced. Getting out of housing was a similarly awful experience. It took weeks to process and it seemed like none of the staff knew what was going on and wouldn't respond to emails. The social atmosphere made me extremely uncomfortable and everyone was quickly sorted into cliques.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Quite a bit of people are in frats or sororities, but they don't have a real presence on this campus. The majority of them joined frats/sororities in Tempe, and I don't think there are any downtown-specific ones. It doesn't really make an impact.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: My only scholarship the the presidential scholarship, which covers all of my tuition. i'm very grateful to have it and it has helped a lot. The only issue I've had is having to fill out a FAFSA, which my parents are vehemently against, but it was able to be worked around.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Although I try not to eat out as much there are plenty of places to choose from downtown to grab a bite.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Registering for ASU was fairly simple there were some things thrown at me that I didn't expect but for the most part it was quite simple.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: I live off campus its perfect for me because I love my personal space and i have a lot of stuff to try and place in a dorm. I would love to live near campus but it is quite expensive, I stay a little ways away but I am still searching for that good deal near downtown campus.

4 College Senior

Party Scene: It all depends on who you know or who they know. Most times the parties are very chill nothing too crazy but its something to do when you're bored or want to step out. There's ALWAYS mill ave, you can always expect to run into someone or find soothing to do there.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: I take the intercampus shuttle unless I absolutely NEED to take the light rail to get somewhere. I have female friends who have been verbally harassed and sexually assaulted on the light rail. ASU police could do a better job addressing some of the druggies and riffraff who hang around the park and light rail station across the street from campus.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: Most Cronkite students receive scholarships that cover at least the program's additional fee, if not more. The site lists something like 90% of applicants receive some form of a scholarship.

5 College Senior

Athletics: I LOVE the new student fitness center - card access prevents riffraff at the Y from getting in, and the rooftop pool and classes are for students only. Football games are "free" starting this year (including a mandatory athletic fee in your tuition), so I might actually go to a few.

2 College Senior

Administration: The downtown campus is locked up tight. Card access buildings are really nice and generally prevent the riffraff from hanging out in campus buildings at night. Cronkite integrity and attendance policies are usually much harsher than in most Tempe classes.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of cool metropolitan restaurants and bars that Tempe doesn't have. Art District locals generally fight chain restaurants and encourage local businesses. TONS of coffee shops.

2 College Senior

Campus Housing: Cost of living is very high - most of my colleagues moved to apartments or rented houses in Tempe to avoid expensive downtown housing. Studios and one bedrooms in gated complexes downtown usually start upwards of $800 per month

4 College Senior

Local Area: Students here get the real metropolitan experience, not just college attractions, restaurants, etc. Some of the transient population can be hostile downtown, especially if you're female, but take the free intercampus shuttles to avoid most of that near the light rail station.

3 College Senior

Party Scene: Head to Tempe for house parties. There are occasional parties in the Garfield district downtown, but they definitely don't have a college atmosphere and might be a little sketchy.

4 Recent Alumnus

Majors: It was very easy to get into criminal justice.

4 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: Got the money I needed.

4 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: Their are police evey where and people around so you are never alone.

5 College Sophomore

Local Area: There are many places to shope and many activities and athletics.

3 College Junior

Academics: Nothing spectacular about this major at this point

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: Campus feels safe and secure, only concerned with the walk from far parking lots, it is a little sketchy alone

4 College Junior

Majors: Lots of variety in majors

3 College Junior

Majors: Too many pre requisites for this major, gets boring

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Not a huge part of this campus
