3 College Sophomore

Academics: The professors come from all areas and can be different depending on their individual personalities and beliefs. They can be very helpful or very difficult, just depends.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: The diversity on campus is huge and wide spread. You can meet people from all different walks of life and background so it is really interesting. Acceptance is common but there are those close-minded people who have their own opinions who aren't antagonized for it. The diversity is eye-opening and really helps to make a person more accepting and less judgmental.

Off-Campus Housing: Off-campus housing is average, with a decent amount of options to choose from but with prices varying from place to place. The availability can be bad sometimes but it is not to terrible. The school allows people to promote their apartment housing costs and prices through posters on campus. Pros- gives freedom and independence from dealing with dorms, Cons- accessibility is sometimes an issue as well as price.

Campus Food: The on campus dining is good. It has as much variety as off campus. You really have a lot to choose from and they make it so that they keep everyone in mind, including vegetarians, lactose-intolerants, etc. They also have markets on campus where you can use your meal plan also to get a larger variety of items to choose from. Meals plans are a set price that parents pay that is then put on a university issued card that you spend for the semester. If you run out, you have to ask your parents to put more on, so spend wisely.

Guys & Girls: Girls on campus are like most other schools. Attractive, funny and love to party. I find that most students dress how they want depending on their own style. It is made up of usually non-casual dressing like jeans and shirts whatever you prefer. The social life is similar with the weekend actually beginning on Thursday and continuing until Sunday. The relationships is average for most but some choose to enjoy being single.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: The off- campus dining is full of a variety of things to choose from. There are many different options and restaurants to choose from and to enjoy. You will hardly fell like you have to eat the same thing in Boone.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I am personally not apart of any Greek Life but my former roommate is and he seemed to enjoy it a lot. The campus is very free thinking so if you are not apart of a fraternity or sorority, the don't look down on you for it. And vice versa. The Greek life is average at the university but does not consume the entire school atmosphere which is good.

Transportation: The bus system, known as Appalcart, is very useful for the general populace. Their are four different routes that go to or nearby areas that you need to go which makes have or needing a car not a necessity but would a convenience. The cost to use Appalcart is free so you never have to come out of pocket to use it.

Local Area: The atmosphere at App is break-taking and can be extremely nice at certain times. The weather can be on both ends of the spectrum, good some days and bad others. But it is in the mountains so it is what you would expect for the weather to be. But all in all, it is a beautiful environment and would entice anyone who is a fan of the outdoors and mountains.

Drug Safety: The drug and alcohol issue at school is not accepted by the staff. Most students drink and smoke off campus but if caught high or drunk upon their return they are written up and possibly arrested. Peer pressure is not a big issue, most people respect if you don't drink or smoke and leave you alone about.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Living on campus is a great experience that gives you the chance to get to know new people and get more actively involved in the society. The atmosphere is refreshing and full of energy not just from the environment but also from the people who live there. The cost is living on campus is average, not too good but not bad. The ease of getting to class from the buildings is also very good also. Picking housing is also easy with you getting the room you request if done correctly and on time.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The process is slow, stressful and usually you only receive loans which most people do not want.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: My school uses a parking permit system that allows you to park in certain areas based on your year. Spots fill up quickly in the closer parking regions so you may end up with whatever is left over. The price is reasonable for the parking permit but I think the price should be different for those you have to park farther away from campus. But even with that you can usually take the free bus service, Appalcart, to get to most of your parking destinations which is great.

Weather: The weather changes from hour to hour. It goes from snowing, to being very hot.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food is good, but there are few options and I get sick of it quickly.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: Getting to the clubs is very easy, but they are small and get crowded very quickly.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The dorms are very diverse. I currently live in one of the smallest dorms. They are pretty close to classes, but it is hard to get the dorm you want.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Everyone attends the sporting events and has a lot of school spirit.

4 College Freshman

Technology: There are many computer labs on campus and printing is relatively cheap. The network is not very stable.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I enjoy the atmosphere and scenery, but it's not exactly my style.

2 College Freshman

Parking: The cost is very high and the parking lot is very far away from the campus.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: We have a campus shuttle that also takes us around the town. It is occasionally on time.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: We do not have Greek housing, but all of the parties are hosted by Greek students.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I haven't been here for very long so I haven't had a chance to really get into my major but so far it's been a good experience. The workload isn't terrible right now but I predict that it will get harder. I haven't really looked into internship or job opportunities but I've heard from several of my friends that there are a lot of internships available.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I've really enjoyed all my professors so far. They have been great instructors and really helpful when I needed help. The registration process could use some help. A lot of people have trouble getting into the classes they need. The workload I've had hasn't been unbearable but it has been somewhat difficult. There are a lot of study abroad opportunities and I think that's really cool. One day I hope to be able to do that.
