3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: We had a lot of sexual assaults occur during the 2014-2015 school year, and they weren't very transparent with the consequences.

5 College Freshman

Academics: Being a physics major with a concentration in astronomy is tough, but the department is very small and therefore close-knit so there is a lot of support among the students. It's recommended to try and do research your freshman year, because professors love to have their research students all 4 years. The workload is pretty heavy, but it helps!

3 College Freshman

Academics: There are passionate professors, but the cirriculum isn't all that great. First year seminar classes don't really help prepare you for anything, and are more of just a filler class. Many people study in the library, and you can book rooms for up to 4 hours.

Off-Campus Dining: Although Boone is a small town, it has a lot of great places to eat. Dominos and Jimmy Johns are open and deliver until around 3am. Murphy's, Macado's and Our Daily Bread are classic favorites for many of the students.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Bearded men and hippie girls make up most of the population. Chacos and flannels are a must.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The prices are pretty high, but most of the food in Central is local so that's great to know. Cascades is the best place to go to get a quick meal between classes, and the beans and rice special is only $2.45 plus toppings!

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are plenty of options, but prices tend to be a bit high unless you somehow get lucky.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are a few really great local restaurants, such as Boone Bagelry and Come Back Shack, that are really great and have a large variety.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: There are usually a variety of options over the weekend, so there's always something to do.

4 College Freshman

Administration: Regarding alcohol, the campus police are fairly easy-going. As long as you don't behave like an idiot, they won't bother you.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: While I understand that the biggest student employment opportunity is in food services, the fact that I have found bugs (yes, bugs) in my food at Trivette, combined with the fact that the staff didn't bat an eye when I brought it to their attention, is repulsing and disturbing.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Some of the dorms are very nice, typically the newer dorms, while some, like Justice Hall, don't even have proper heating and air conditioning, or elevators for the handicapped.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Great if you can get a good apartment

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: I hear good things but i dont party

4 College Freshman

Administration: Pretty chill as long as youre not an asshole

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: Very few scholarships and financial aid is a nightmare

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The value isnt great but it'll fill you up

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I like my dorm because it's close to classes

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are tons of options for off campus housing and for different prices as well depending on how many people you live with.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I try not to eat off campus much because I have to use my meal plan money but it hits the spot when I do!

3 College Freshman

Administration: I wish they would be more strict because everyone can get very wild on the weekends.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: It took forever for it to actually go through and after spending all that time I didn't get any financial aid.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Central upstairs and downstairs need more variety. They have the same thing basically at both places and it gets old.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living on campus is only good because it is close to all your classes and you can come back to the room in between classes.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I lived off campus and loved it. There are options, but they fill up very quickly.
