Campus Quality at Antioch University - Los Angeles: It's one of those campuses that you only go to for class. It's tiny and there aren't many options.

Campus Quality at Antioch University - Los Angeles: Antioch LA is known for how liberal of a school it is. It has unisex bathrooms and is the first Masters in Psychology program in the States to have a LGBT concentration.

Diversity at Antioch University - Los Angeles: Antioch LA is a very liberal school. It's accepting of just about any minority group (race, gender, religion). I gave it an A- however because I feel a conservative, righty would be ostracized.

Transportation at Antioch University - Los Angeles: I'm lucky enough to stay with a friend who drives, but otherwise in Los Angeles everyone drives. The school provides parking if you have a car, and there are a number of hotels to stay in within walking distance.

Majors at Antioch University - Los Angeles: My major is Creative Writing (low residency, MFA). I'm quite happy with the program. I like the format of working with mentors in small groups. I'm amazed at how much I'm learning. It's as though you have this idea you or your work needs only a little tweaking. Then you get to school and realize how much you didn't know you didn't know. My major gripes are twofold: low-residency just isn't as immediate as in-person. A lot of work is done online, which means when you get to the residency you have to pack a LOT of information and work into 9 days. It's draining. The other thing I'd like to see is semester-long seminars. Right now you attend residency and sit in on seminars of your choosing, take notes (if you choose) and turn in papers on what you learned from the seminars. Some of the issues are so compelling that I'd like to see some seminar topics made into semester-long courses. Oh and there's the little matter of the breaks. You don't get any. There's very little downtime/breaks between semesters.
Still, I would definitely do it all over again; my goals are to be a writer making a living writing, possibly in conjunction with collegiate teaching. Of course I'm concerned about finding work in my field. The whole world's falling apart and jobs are scarce for almost everyone. It's a gamble, but most worthwhile things turn out to be.

Scholarships at Antioch University - Los Angeles: Financial aid is very easy to get, but scholarships are much harder. There are few available and most cover only a fraction of tuition. There are no fellowships or other kinds of waivers for the low-residency programs.

Transportation at Antioch University - Seattle: School is close to the greyhound and many buses, but there is no school-based transportation. Parking is around 10 dollars per day.

Parking at Antioch University - Santa Barbara: Parking is a hassle. Their is no parking lot assigned to the school, so you must look for parking on the street or a parking garage near by.

Health & Safety at Antioch University - Santa Barbara: Antioch is all in one building and all classes are easy to get to. There is a security guard on site so that if someone needs to get walked to their car. Santa Barbara is a pretty safe area in general.

Transportation at Antioch University - Santa Barbara: I live 2.5 hours away from our school, When the program began there were classes about 1 hour away at Alan Hancock College, but the relationship ended with Antioch Univ. for whatever reason. So it's caused me to drive to Santa Barbara weekly. I do carpool with some other ladies in my area, but I doubt there will be many that continue on to the Master's Program to car pool with.

Drug Safety at Antioch University - Santa Barbara: There are a few students that report partying on the weekends and some that talk openly about using marijuana for stress or other medical reasons; as they have medical cards for the drug. The ones that are users find each other, but there are also students that are in recovery and they also find each other. I don't care for the students that openly use before class.

Weather at Antioch University - Santa Barbara: Santa Barbara weather is always sunny, but with a breeze so it's not muggy or stuffy there. I always bring a jacket, but barely ever need it outside. Periodically it's really hot, like 90's, but this is very seldom since it's close to the ocean breezes.
