2 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Information from administration is terrible. Information is something that is just not shared. The college and the student body could do such a better job of doing an orientation program.

4 College Sophomore

Student Body: This is a community college and as such it is a cross section of Southern California which it serves. If this culture is found in Southern California its represented in this college.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The veterans financial aid counselor is amazing she is helpful and legitimately cares about her job. The financial office has student workers in the front office and they are either fantastic or terrible there appears to be no middle ground. The lines are long and it can be frustrating for all involved. If you have to go to financial aid go as early in the semester and as early in the day as you can. Going a couple of weeks before semester starts is the best option.

Academic Experience: There are some very knowledgeable professors who genuinely care about your progress.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: For a community college there is a push to have a wider range of courses offered. There possibly needs to be more professors teaching human anatomy and physiology. There seems to be a distinct lack of spaces in these classes.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: resources are good but not advertised which sucks

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: They have a lot of time for classes and are easy to get into as long as you pick your classes ahead of time.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: I just go to class then go straight home.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: All of the classes are ok.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: I dont't have anything to compare with but I haven't had a bad time at the school, it has been just okay.

3 College Junior

Student Body: There all types of races and all seem to get along well.

4 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I'm not paying for anything at the moments so i'm good.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: The school has many workshops, a gym and track, a library, and you can join many sports teams.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: The only frustrations I have had was when I had to keep going into the student services building for every little thing I needed to be done when I was trying to get help with my registration process. It seems like sometimes, faculty does not like to talk on the phones.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: My favorite experience would have to be meeting fellow classmates. The fact that you are surrounded by people who want to learn, rather than being forced to go, makes it all the better, because we all try to help each other out.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Classes are small enough that you are able to ask questions and get thorough answers when you need to without waiting days. There is also always extra help, whether it be from other students, teachers, TLC, etc. I love how many opportunities there are to learn for each subject.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Receiving a degree in biological sciences from AVC would allow me to progress towards my dream career of being in the medical or dental field.

5 College Sophomore

Online Courses: I have previously attempted online courses at another school and had so much trouble navigating around. All of the websites that AVC's professors use for their classes are very easy to navigate around, and they are more than willing to help you learn the systems. I also admire that some of the online courses offered take place in classrooms at the college so that I may get help when I need it.

4 College Sophomore

Student Body: There is great diversity at Antelope Valley College. Everyone seems to mind their own business but everyone I have approached has also been very friendly towards me, regardless of what race or gender they were. I also have teachers of different ethnicities, who have all been very professional at their jobs.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: All science professors I have had so far have been very professional, helpful and thorough. I am disappointed that there are not student lab assistant opportunities.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: There are so many resources available for students to take advantage of! there are lots of cool spots wthat students may utilize for education (Veterans Lounge has computers and paper resources, plus you can bring food in there!) and relax. There are plenty of study spots everywhere. There are also some great resources for those who need financial aid, like the Books H.E.L.P. program, which allows students to rent books they need from the school for free.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Some places are hard to find but staff and students are extremely helpful and friendly.

4 College Student

Student Body: Diversity is what our school is built on. Every body is different both ethnically and sexually.

Academic Experience: The program I am involved in is excellent. It is a high school which integrates the college curriculum into its agenda. There are plenty of resources to take advantage of. Staff is helpful to everyone.

4 College Student

Academic Experience: There are multiple academics offered at my school. High schoolers apart of the program have first priority registration, but they are limited as to what classes they may take.
