Student Body: Working Class Student – Most of the student at AVC are comprised of three categories: Working class adults who came back to school to get a degree, people who come to class to get only finical aid, and there are students like me who are living at home and possible working awhile attending classes. Students for the most part are friendly but choose not to socialize unless forced to by the professor.

Overall Experience: Not to Bad – If i had the chance to do it all over again i would choose AVC again because this school provided everything needed for a student to succeeded in their classes. I was provided with services such as free tutoring for math and english at the tutoring center, help from teachers during their office hours, and above all a clean campus and air conditioning. Oh and occasionally the school would give free food for students on student appreciation day. overall i was able to get the classes i needed and the right working condition to go with it.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: OK School – The main reason why i gave the school a B- is because my only complant was that there was too much competition for classes and not enough classes, but overall the teachers i had over there were very good and even when out of there way to assist me in my educationally career.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: i wish the professors helped out alittle more and was nicer

4 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: it all good they pay for everything so i have no worries and am learning alot of things i did'nt know

5 College Junior

Career Services: Career Center Helpful – i have had noproblems with the career center. and the career center sends me job placements every week

5 College Senior

Campus Resources: The network is pretty well maintained and the professors use work with you if you expericence problems.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: Professors are very knowledgeable and will help if asked.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: The campus is clean with a brand new auditorium for theatre perfomances.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Could've Been Easier – I am happy to be starting my education. I am excited to be learning the quintessentials to a subject and health area that I am so very interested in. The road getting to this point was very windy, lots of potholes, but my motivation to get to the destination is strong.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Squeaky Tight With Assistance – wow the cost of attending this CC is wild, after fafsa I dont even have enough to get my books, no other scholarships (that I have been able to find) through or for AVC

Tuition & Financial Aid: Right and Left Hand Not Communicating Well – it seemed to me that I would speak to one financial aide worker and get one batch of information, I would get an email requesting more action, I would go in and the other worker would look me up and say youre good, then I check my email again and again..........and so on, and so on, very frustrating, however my motivation to continue my education far outweighs that miscommunication

Tuition & Financial Aid: The education I'm getting is definitely well worth the money i'm paying, I only payed one dollar last semester for 11 units. I also qualified for a grant and I got about $2,000.

Campus Resources: I go to the learning center sometimes to get tutoring or to get help on math, but because of the budget cuts, tutoring is limited to one hour per week for general tutoring and for math there are not enough tutors, so it takes a while for an individual to get help. The library has textbooks people can use, but you can only check the textbook out for one hour at a time and you have to wait 15 minutes to check out the same book again. I don't know too much about the campus activities, but sometimes the have some type of events were they give people free food so that is pretty cool and one time I won a free shirt. I joined a few clubs on campus, I joined the science club, the physics club, and the rocket club, but it seems like the don't do much just have meeting about what they want to do, but they never really do anything with the exception of the rocket club, and the only thing we did last semester was just build one rocket.

Campus Resources: Computers are usually available, the computers are not too slow, I don't know about the wi-fi, but printing cost 15 cents a page.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: Wireless Access – One problem about this school is the Wireless Access. There is none. You can try to connect to the wireless router they have in the school, but it wont allow your phone to have wireless internet, but yet, your phone shows that it is connected.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: I would say that there student body is what separates us from other schools. For student appreciation, they decided to put on a full carnival to show how much they appreciated us. I don't know of any school that have done that.

3 College Senior

Student Body: its overall a good school, they make us feel proud for our community to have its own college.

3 College Freshman

Online Courses: I like taking an online course, but interaction with professors and peers is important to me. Without that, I feel that I don't learn as well and I sometimes procrastinate.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: Not Enough Hours – There is not enough time to work in the library or comp labs

2 College Junior

Academic Experience: Transfer Credits Are a Priority. There is not really anything that you can have a substantial major in. Just work towards an AA while doing transfer courses.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Computer Labs Are Open to Everyone. There are usually plenty of computers that are open for use and most of the time things run smoothly.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Most Things Are Present. At the moment there is not any sort of medical center, although this will change soon.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Best Choice in the Immediate Area. Antelope Valley College is a great school for people who live close to get credits for transferring to other colleges.

4 College Student

Academic Experience: Great Professors – I have been lucky enough to have some really great professors that do their best to make sure we understand the material and get the best grade possible. I know there are others that do not have that goal in mind but a majority of them do.
