Tuition & Financial Aid: Students are given financial aid but many just wait for that money and then stop attending class. The school is affordable and helps a large portion of students with fees but those students that are only in it for the money take up class spaces that they will only drop later. It is obvious in lower level classes when a month goes by and half the seats are empty. If you are a student that will put the aid to good use then you should not have too many problems however get to the offices as early as possible because the waiting lines can be atrocious.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Its Ok – just think they should verify who really is there for a degree or learning not those who take it and leave soon as they receive it

Student Body: You can find a bit of everything at the school. Some ethinicitys are more common than others but a lot of them are there. Many of the students are open to the other students beliefs.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: The registration process is easy to do and online so it can be done anywhere. The workload is decent and the professors are understanding and good teachers.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: The school has great rescources to help their students and the community is good. The only thing I rated the school down for is the weather which is really hot during the summer and very cold during the winter.

3 College Freshman

Campus Resources: the people and staff have always been good people that are willing to help you out if you need it. also the campus is a learning environment that keeps you focused on what you need to get done.

3 College Freshman

Campus Resources: the resources are extremely helpful there but since there are an overflow of students there is typically long lines you have to wait in.

5 College Freshman

Campus Resources: i honestly have never had a problem with this. the computers are up to date and the internet never takes forever.

3 College Freshman

Student Body: yes people are outgoing and friendly, but its when it is needed. people are very focused on getting to where they need to be and getting their goals finished. if you stop to ask them something they will talk to you and help you out but then they will quickly be on their way.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: I have access to a wide variety of things that can help me succeed academically. Also there are a lot of ways to join sports or even take classes involving sports.

3 College Junior

Student Body: I would give them a b because most students at my school are very smart people, but they have a bad work ethic. Great people to be around, but some of them just seem lazy.

Academic Experience: There is a wide range in academics best suited for those in Science, Math, English etc. The professors are somewhat laid back but are also helpful unless you unfortunately get a poor teacher. Classes are fine, teachers are OK, but class registration is a huge hassle. Registration is like almost "first come, first serve" which causes students to flood the system and cause mass confusion and technical difficulties when applying. Otherwise, there is tutorials meant to help you, and study rooms for your group of peers you want to study with.

Academic Experience: Antelope Valley College is about average when it comes to Academic experience. The Workload is ,at best few, and the instructors are somewhat clueless ,overall, in teaching. It's a hassle to get the right and best teachers but it's worth it. Instructors and other faculty members are somewhat borderline good and bad when it comes to your education level. I suggest you research the teachers for your own benefit.

Tuition & Financial Aid: This school is saving me so much money in tuition. That is one of the main reasons i decided to stay here. And the financial aid office can sometimes become overwhelmed but they try very hard to get you your money.

3 College Freshman

Student Body: There are alot of working people that are taking classes to further their education. There is also a pretty good amount of people that are your age.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: Some professors don't answer your emails and avoid talking to students. Others are really involved and want students to succeed. Registration takes forever because the site always crashes and kicks you out.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: The track and field facilities are very new, and include a workout course for public use, which is nice. I haven't done much in the gym, as I believe you must be in a class to use those facilities, which is not so nice.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: Excellent library, good computer labs, brilliant Track and Field facilities... what more could you want? There is a decided lack of student involvement, but most people are just looking to transfer anyway.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: AVC recently finished work on a new building, and the computer labs there are quite nice. Internet speed and reliability is excellent. Frequently the online homework assignments which are a required part of many courses at the college are given on platforms which leave much to be desired and tend to crash on the due date.

3 College Senior

Career Services: The career center is great, but the counseling center is less than helpful. There are only a few counselors who know what they are talking about and they are located in the transfer counseling center. They will tell you what you are doing right and wrong and give you a real estimated graduation date.

Student Body: We have a very wide variety of people at Antelope Valley College, but they can be quite obnoxious. There are groups of kids who seem to only hang out in the quad all day long and poke fun of kids who are actually there to learn. It seems a lot like high school sometimes. But then again, there are the people who actually care about school and are excited and nice to others.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: The classes are all so different from one another and it keeps people interested in what classes they will be in each semester. I am definitely always excited to meet new people, professors, and learn new things each semester.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: As an English major, I actually do get to take a variety of courses to keep myself interested. I have to take quite a few English courses that I never would want to take if I had to choose on my own but it is a good thing and keeps me interested in the different aspects of my major. I am proud to be an English major at Antelope Valley College.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: The Academic experince works well for me because I resently found out tha I have a learning disablity with the help of my math teacher. She ad vised nme to go get testes and I did. And end the end when I went to the disablity office for ferther help they welcomedme with opem arms, and I was able to pass my math class with there assistance.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: They are very flexiable but you have to stay on top of things to make them work for you. Remember they are seeing you as an adult that takes care of their own responablities, so as long as you stay ahead of them it works out good for you.
