Campus Resources: Again, for a community College in a city that no one has heard of, the resources are phenomenal! The student center is packed full of computers just waiting to be used by anyone with an ID card with use of always working computers at 15 cents a print. We have a two story library with even more computers and study rooms that students can rent for a few hours.

Campus Resources: Computer labs are excellent at AVC, we have a few computer labs for Mac computers with state of the art technology and many more with PC computers that run really well. I've never seen a network get dropped at AVC or a printer not work. Very reliable.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: I'm not completely involved in school, I just go there to learn but I have noticed that we have a good amount of activities that could keep anyone busy.

Academic Flexibility: Antelope Valley College is just my hometowns community college. The teachers are wonderful, I've learned a lot in the first year of me attending. The reason on why this school is getting a B and not an A is because AVC is overrunned with dishonest students that sign up for courses just for the financial aid and then drop the classes, making this school really over populated and makes it hard to get classes like English or Bio.

Academic Flexibility: I am able to work sometimes around my schedule but very hard at times to juggle, so there has been some hassles, and frustration.

Online Courses: Well, I was nervous and still are about taking online- classes, but I rather be in classroom so that I can have hands on training and be face to face with the teachers as well.

3 College Junior

Student Body: My school is consists of hard working, class people with full-time jobs or families. They often juggle many different roles in addition to being students. They are getting an education so they can seek a different life or career.

Career Services: Antelope Valley College has a career placement center that is dedicated to helping students find jobs and employment in their related fields. The center also assists students with resumes and gives them tips on how to secure a job.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Antelope Valley College offers many general education course class sections but when it comes to major classes, the options are very limited. It is sometimes extrememly difficult and frustrating to enroll in major course requirements each semester and I have had to work hard at trying to fit required classes around my schedule.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: There are very good teachers on campus. Overall easy.

2 College Junior

Career Services: For a few majors, not every major.

5 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: This was a really easy process. They also had people available if I needed help and kept a list of things that I need so I could get my Financial Aid.

Academic Experience: This is my first semester at AVC. So far I am pleased with my classes and instructors/classes. The registration was a longer process than I had anticipated, but once that was done, it was easy to sign for classes online. I would definitely recommend signing up for classes as soon as the school lets you to avoid losing out on a class or class time you want. The classes fill up very quickly and if you are not proactive or on top of when you can sign up, you will miss out.

Academic Flexibility: Initially, my experience getting started with the school was frustrating at best. They have phone numbers to call to try and make things easier and save you time, but they never answer their phones or I was directed to voice mail that was 'too full' and you couldn't leave a message. This means you have to physically go in and see someone in person just to ask a question. Once I got used to how their process worked, it was fairly easy to sign up for classes. All of that is online, unless you have a question; then you have to physically go in and get assistance. One tip I would give is that if you have priority registration, go onto the AVC account as soon as possible and often, to ensure you don't miss out on signing up for the classes you need at the time you want. Classes fill up very quickly and if you get behind the curve, you'll lose out. I honestly don't know how those without priority registration even get to sign up for classes since it appears they fill up so quickly.

3 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Lines are long and you will never get an answer if you call the office.

2 College Sophomore

Student Body: Its about average. Racially diverse but not religiously diverse.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: There aree few clubs, and then they are hard to contact. The nursing program has a 2 year waiting list and classes are hard to get into. The only good thing is the new Health and Science building. There is wifi in there with state of the arc computer labs.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: There are plenty of labs and wifi in the new Health and Science building. But no wifi anywhere else. The computer labs are okay.... The prints cost 15 cents a paper though.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Lines where to long they work slow in a way but they are nice to you no mattter what.

4 College Junior

Career Services: Its my first year they but its great veryone nice and the teacher are going what they do. It has a nice campus too.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: The services they have on campus is great. They have Care a van, tutoring, library, counselors, OSD,

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: I am a liberal arts major and if you put in the work you can succeed. What you put in for sure is exactly what is what your going to get out.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: My major will be in the Nursing Program. Even though I am starting some of the pre-requisites now, it is comparable to what I expected to be taking for this career. Some of the classes I already have taken with my Associates Degree have been accepted by this school and have given me credit towards my studies.

3 College Junior

Student Body: I won't be starting classes until the Fall. However, I have spent a lot of time going to back and forth from the school to get things situated in order to start school. The student body is a mixture of just out of high school students to working class people with jobs. The ethnicity appears to be diverse.

Academic Flexibility: At first I had a mix review of my teachers and class settings in AVC. Some teachers teach and others do not. It was frustrating to not learn materials that you have to learn. Then my second semester as well as Summer session was great. As far as I encountered, bad teachers are a bad apples in a pile of good apples. The workload is sufficient but also understandable. Actually do your work and life is a breeze. Be motivated to study and learn or else. And yes times are flexible. There are different times for the same classes so you pick what's convenient for you. Please go to ratemyprofessor.com to see the ratings of your professor. You never know that you might land with a bad apple although rare.
