2 College Freshman

Local Area: there's is pretty much nothing to do here. only one mall with little stores not very much to shop, everything is so far away. etc

3 College Freshman

Local Area: This is a small town with a bursting community that is beyond supportive of the students here at ASU which is always a great feeling. Although the area is small we make the most out of it with events held by local businesses on the weekends and many shops in the downtown area. You can always find the community holding an event on the weekends as unity plays a big part around here.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: To me, everything is perfect considering I'm from a really small town.

3 College Senior

Local Area: It's a great place to retire or raise a family but it's pretty boring otherwise..

3 College Junior

Local Area: There are plenty of restaurants and bars, but I personally wish there were more activists around town in general, if your 18 or 21.

San Angelo is a city that thinks of itself as a small Texas town. It has a small mall, Walmart, Sam's Club, and many other major stores and restaraunts, but it never feels too big or too crowded. Those from larger cities might feel the town is boring because of the lack of variety, but those from smaller towns enjoy the conveniences that San Angelo has to offer. In recent years, the downtown area of San Angelo has really started to liven up, and now many people enjoy shopping at the boutiques and specialty stores. For those who prefer shopping local, downtown San Angelo is perfect.

As far as the campus goes, it is small and friendly, and there is usually something going on every week. ASU takes care to have many events in the beginning of the academic year to give students time to meet new people and forge friendships. The residence halls also make sure to have events throughout the year to allow students to meet others who live in their same dorms. The ASU campus is friendly in the West Texas fashion, as most students are from the surrounding area. Students are not afraid to approach each other or make small talk in the elevator.
