Campus Food: There are a few options for food on the opposite sides of campus. On one side there's a cafeteria, with standard cafeteria food, no high standards. Then there is a buffet and fast food place in the University Center. Chic-fil-a, pizza, sanddwhiches and burgers are fast food options with a chip and fountain drink or bottled beverage option.

Athletics: Varsity sports and/or Athletes don't run the campus like the stereo types in movies, but they do have good fan bases and are highly attended.

Local Area: San Angelo still has the small town mentality, everybody speaks. It is growing because of the oil boom in the east Texas area.

Greek Life: The School doesn't have the Greek Chapter that I would like to pledge, but I still enjoy the parties and people.

Scholarships: My School has only a few scholarship opportunities, and I don't fit in the criteria for half of them. My only choices are Academic Scholarships.

Off-Campus Housing: There are certain apt. complexes known for certain reasons. There's a complex where most athletes and party goers stay, a cheap place closer to campus that's old, but worth the price, and a couple calmer apt complexes.

Health & Safety: Students can sign up for alert texts, and the emails about security measures are automatically emailed to students. I have no complaints because no serious crimes have happened on campus while i was in attendance.

Campus Quality: Activities aren't usually rowdy and problematic; events have a loose enough environment to hype up students, but still monitored.

Majors: Admission was fairly routine. There were no abnormal obstacles, grades need to be above average.

Majors: There are only a few teachers that teach every class for the major. I don't really agree with one of the techers style but I have no choice but to take his class if I want to countinue this degree plan; Viariety would be great

Academics: Since my major is mathematics, the facilities are small , there is not that many students wanting to major on math.

Administration: The school is strict about important topics. Anyone caught with drugs or alcohol in the dorms will be reprimanded. However, visitation hours are fairly lenient as long as you are not causing a disturbance. They know we are college students, and they expect some rowdiness. Overall, they are really only strict when they need to be.

Diversity: This is the most racially diverse school I have been to. Growing up in a small town in Maine, I hadn't been subjected to this very much. But it doesn't bother me of course. The economic background varies. Some people have money, and it is obvious. Some people don't but they get the financial help they deserve. The school really worked with me the first year I was there to get the finances I needed. Not so much after that. Political beliefs and religious backgrounds are pretty standard for the school's spot in the Bible Belt. I never quite fit in with these, and don't often give my opinion on the subjects because I will hear a lot about it. But almost everyone there are republican conservatives and Christian. I don't mind, I just don't like having other peoples beliefs shoved down my throat. I'm more of a conversationalist. As for sexual orientation, given it's position in the Bible Belt, most people are straight. I have met quite a few who are very against my homosexual friends, but I will always stand up for them. But, that being said, most people I know there who are gay or bi don't often flaunt it.

Majors: I am not concerned about finding a job in my field. However, if I were to do it again, I would not have attended this university to accomplish my goals.

Angelo State University, and San Angelo by extension, has a small, friendly feel. In addition to a standard choice of majors, ASU offers many programs throughout the semester for entertainment, and there is a club for everyone if a student does some digging. No matter what taste a student has, there will be a club of like-minded people, and overall, people are generally accepting of each other, even if they disagree with them.

The city has all the comforts of a larger city with the feel of a small town. There is very little to be left wanting when at ASU or in San Angelo. However, students that come from larger metropolitan areas may find the small size on the boring side due to minimal variety. On the flip side, students coming from rural ares are likely to love having things to do without a long drive. A few students dislike the area, and a few students love it, but overall, many are happy with the choice to come to ASU.
