5 College Sophomore

Administration: Not as strict as Bob Jones, but they do have rules that help keep students safe. There is no drinking on campus, and boys and girls can go into each others dorms only during certain times of the day.

College Sophomore

Greek Life: There are not fraternities or sororities at Anderson, but there are other organizations to join.

Campus Quality: Students really love going to school here. The programs are great. It is a smaller class size so there is a lot of help from the teachers. The teachers are approachable. It is a more expensive school, but it is worth it.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There is a higher female to male ratio, but this doesn't seem to be a problem.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: There are a substantial amount of sports and each one is well equipped.

Scholarships: I did receive a decent amount of financial aid, but it was still not enough. It is not easy to find the money you are missing when the college only sees what your parents make yearly and decide it is enough that they can pay for a certain amount; which is not always correct. It is best to talk to financial aid in person because they do not get back to emails quickly.

Health & Safety: I always feel safe on campus because they go above and beyond to try and keep every student safe. If there is an escapee from the hospital or a suspicious person around the campus we get emails telling us about it and are told that campus security is on high alert. They do the best they can having a small security detail, but the campus is not real big which is great because if you're out late in another building it is not a long walk to get back to the dorm room.

Campus Food: The food is always some kind of pasta and meat every day. The only fruit choices are between an apple, orange, and banana. There is not any dairy free food choices for the people that cannot eat dairy. There are two other places on campus to eat known as the Grille and Food For Thought. At the grille they always have burgers and hot dogs and any food that is easy to make and serve. Food For Thought is where people go to eat greasy, overly cheesy pizza. The people serving the food are nice but other than that, you get really bored by the day to day food options.

3 College Junior

Majors: I'm in creative writing. The programs just getting off the ground and is pretty small, but its challenging and the teachers are awesome. They're all really invested in e students and want to see us succeed and become better writers. On that topic, a lot of them grade based on how much you improve not on how well you do, so you do have to stay on top of your work and really put forth some effort. Since the english department is trying to expand, especially the writing part of it, they're pretty eager to accept people

Athletics: Seriously, it's a small school sports opportunities are limited. The main sport on campus is varsity men's soccer, and there are a bunch of foreign guys on the team. Men's basketball gets a bit of support, too. Everything else exists, but is basically ignored by the student body.

Campus Food: The salad bars always good. The meet is rarely identifiable. In the main caf, there's a great sandwich line. There's also a grill with hamburgers and hotdogs and such which is pretty greasy but tasty enough. There is a pizza place which is good but only every now and then (the salad bar in the pizza cafe is awesome though).

Party Scene: I don't party or drink. I've seen a few bars and there's a club downtown, but I don't know if its any good. I've heard of parties at students off-campus houses. Anderson is a dry campus and there are severe consequences to being caught with alcohol. Mostly it's a place to chill with friends in smaller groups. The best place to go for fun is Greenville, forty minutes away.

Greek Life: Anderson University does not have a Greek Life. There are no Fraternities or Sororities on campus or near-by.

Local Area: The atmosphere at Anderson University is an atmosphere worth living in. I love Anderson because there is so much to do, and everywhere you go there are always people there willing to help in any way possible. Walking around Anderson University, you will find plenty of smiling faces, and the Professors actually talk to you outside of class and are interested in how you are doing. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and sports centers to do things on your spare time. Greenville, SC is also nearby which is a very fun place to hang out on the weekends.

Campus Food: There are three different dining halls to eat at, at Anderson University. I graded campus dining a B because two of this dining halls serve the same thing every day so the food gets old after a while. The other dining hall is good and has two different lines to get in serving two different days. Some days, these dining halls are out of a lot of food, beverages, etc. But, most of the time the food is good and fills me up with satisfaction.

3 College Freshman

Technology: The design lab has very nice Macintosh computers, but are only available for designers. The other computers on campus are reliable, but a little outdated.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: You really won't go anywhere unless you have a car. The shuttles and other methods have certain time and size constraints.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Apartment complexes are really nice and there are multiple options that are within a 10 minute drive to campus.

Transportation: Freshmen are allowed to have cars on campus which is a huge plus. This year the parking pass was only $60 for the entire year so it is very affordable. As far as long distance goes, there are no options other than the friends you make that have cars.

4 College Junior

Party Scene: Nightlife does not exist on campus because we are a dry campus. However, Student Activities does a great job to make sure that the students on campus are not bored at night. There are always fun events like a drive-in movie, campus wide game of capture the flag, 80s skate night, etc.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: The guys and girls at Anderson University create a fun and family-like atmosphere. AU is a liberal arts school so there are definitely a lot of artsy people who dress like hipsters.

Drug Safety: Anderson is a primarily christian school and does a good job of letting parents and students know what is required of them.

Campus Food: Campus dining at AU is pretty good. There are a few different places to choose from that offer a variety of options for meals. Martin Dining Hall has an all-you-can-eat buffet for breakfast, lunch, and supper. Food for Thought is a pizza/sub/salad shop that offers a variety of different sandwiches and pizzas every day of the week. The Student Center Grille offers burgers, chicken, and other fast food items during most hours. Java City offers your choices of coffees, smoothies, pastries, and other delicious options.

Weather: I have lived in South Carolina all my life, and I enjoy the weather here. It is very mild and cool in the fall, somewhat chilly in the winter (sorry, not too many snow days), mild and warm in the spring, and hot during the summer (thankfully, Lake Hartwell is just a few minutes away).

4 College Senior

Technology: There are a plethora of computer labs on campus, from the one in the library and in the coffee shop to the ones in each college. They all run well enough for every task I have ever used them for in the Biology department, and do not suffer from any slowdown. I have my own laptop that I typically use, but if you need them, there are plenty of good computers all around campus.
