2 College Sophomore

Local Area: the city of Anderson is not what it used to be. The mall has lost a lot of stores but there are plenty of eateries in the local.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: The campus could use more parking. You have to arrive early to park and walk.

4 College Sophomore

Technology: there is access to computers in the library with multiple printers. The print outs cost five cents each but has standard black. the wireless is fast once you download the required plug in.

2 College Sophomore

Weather: Since it is Indiana, the chance of weather changes are increased daily. The winters can be harsh with cold temps and snow or ice.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There is not a lot, and the surrounding neighborhoods are not a place I would like to live. However, the on-campus housing (Morrison!) is spectactular. The only advantage to off-campus is the apartment style living it involves.

3 College Freshman

Academics: Social Work is not a very high priority at this perfoming arts focused school. However, the professors are wonderful in the SW classes and they are sure to make the program amazing.

4 College Freshman

Academics: There are a lot if professors with varying depths of knowledge in several different fields! This is useful with deciding on a major, especially because they are all active in getting to know their students on a personal level.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The atmosphere on campus is absolutely wonderful. There are always positive people to surround yourself with, as well as fun activities on campus to participate in. This makes for a lot of lasting friendships based on integrity and compassion. However, the surrounding town is definitely a damper on the University itself.

2 College Freshman

Greek Life: There is a 'social club' life, and this involves 'surging' a particular club that generally focuses on public involvement and service projects. However, the surging experience is often based on harsh and time consuming activities.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: While Anderson is a city of very friendly people, it is certainly a town that is struggling financially. There is a lot of poverty, and it shows. Despite this, there is a lot of work going in to reviving the city.

5 College Freshman

Party Scene: Anderson University constantly has something going on for students to keep them involved in the community and campus. Whether it be a CAB (campus activity board) event like Disco, Dancing, and Donuts, or just a service project in the city, everyone has something to do

1 College Freshman

Transportation: There are shuttles that run in the spring to local busines, like walmart and cvs. Other than that there are really no services unless you have a car of your own.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Cigarettes and Alcohol – I know of some students that hide around campus to go smoke or hide alcohol.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Got some that I needed but not as much as they were going to give me or tht was expected.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: AU offers high quality curriculum, easy registration, heavy workload, and outstanding tutoring opportunities.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: AU seems extremely safe, with security being active on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: As a single mom there should be more help with aid. I was told I get everything there is to offer. There also should be more private school grants.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: Supporting Spanish Education – As a Spanish Education major, I essentially double major in Spanish and Education, with a couple extra classes infusing the two subjects. The Foreign Language Department is very active; they host several activities where you can practice your speaking with fellow students, such as photo clubs and the Immersion Party. The Education Department is also very supportive. The teachers are very willing to work with you, and they are all incredibly personable. My education classes are usually my favorite parts of the day. Both departments make it easy to fit in.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Not So Greek – AU has social clubs rather than sororities and fraternities, so they are not as intense as other colleges. They have to accept anyone who joins, so it's easy to get into one. They host several events at school and do things as groups, but they are really laid back. They don't run the school or dominate the social life.

Transportation: Going on Foot – At Anderson University you can go anywhere on foot since the complete campus takes up about two blocks. You can pretty much get anywhere within ten minutes, so you do not have to stress out about leaving early. There is a shuttle bus that goes around campus and goes to stores like Wal-Mart, but it's hard to find what the schedule is. They also have the bus available during the winter so you don't have to walk if you don't want to.

Majors: Small School, Big Opportunities – Although Anderson started out as a Bible College, it has significantly developed over the years. The school offers a wide range of degrees, anything from Dance to Theology to Business or Biology. Most of the degree programs have prerequisite courses and an interview or review to get into the program. Once you are part of the program the professors and students become family. The programs offer diversity and an unrepeatable experience.

Overall Experience: "Academic and Christian Discovery" – That is what it is all about, discovery. At Anderson University (Indiana) faculty and staff are there to learn from you as you learn from them. They have created a learning environment that helps students better understand the world they grew up in, the world surrounding them and the professional world they are transitioning into. It is a unique place. It's a Private-Liberal-Christian University which encourages making connections and creating community.

Administration: I Love This School. I'm not sure on everything about this school. I haven't started at the school yet. I start in September!

4 College Senior

Parking: Being in the adult education program as allowed me to avoid paying for parking. Classes on campus are typically in areas that only require permits until 5pm. I do believe a year parking pass is around $30.

4 College Senior

Technology: The computers I have had experience with have been excellent and kept up to date.
