5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I've had a great application and enrollment process. The professors are qualified and the staff helpful.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: There are sections for all these things in the student portal. Constant communication of internship possibilities.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I love how AUP puts an emphasis on mental health. Especially in relation to new students and the struggles they may face moving to france.

5 College Freshman

Campus Housing: We live in apartments through Comforts of home usually no more than 30 minutes from campus. It's great!

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: So far the AUP community as a whole has been extremely effective in communication. I've received responses to emails in minutes (despite a time difference) and have been helped promptly with any questions or concerns. AUP has facilitated the college entry experience. I am beyond excited to start this fall!

Overall Experience: I had to leave the American University of Paris because I was unable to secure financial assistance to continue my education there and was unable to renew my student visa to remain in France. I did not finish my degree program when I returned to the states.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Athletics is not a huge part of the University, although they are various opportunities to participate in as a student in Paris.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I am exceptionally content being a student at the American Univeristy of Paris. For what I want to be and do in my carrer path, this university will help me reach my goals. I am studying International Business while learning french and the french culture on a daily basis outside of the classroom. Paris is the most amazing city, where you will never cease to be amazed. I love my life because I am at AUP.

Health & Safety: It is very safe and each student's bag is checked before entering a building. Campus crime is low to non-existent, personal safety is high and very rarely something gets stolen. I feel very safe on campus.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The quality of courses and professors is very high. Most of them have graduated from top universities and they have a lot of substantial knowledge to teach the students. The variety of courses is very high and you can study art history and economics at the same time which is a great advantage of AUP. Class size is around 15-20 people in a classroom which is very good for discussions and understanding the material better.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: AUP proves support to the students and always helps them to find an internship and later on a job.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The first year you have to choose either a home stay or Comforts of Home, which is an agency that takes care of your housing. It is a great opportunity because you immediately meet people and make friends.

Athletics: Some people are participating in sports activities, but it is not a huge part of the university life.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Located in the heart of the world, AUP combines the best of both worlds - an American educational system in Europe.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Theres no campus, so youre on your own most of the time. Just look out for yourself.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Not my cup of tea. If you have money and like seeing the same people for 4 years and not really meet anyone new, then go for it

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: If you are here to find a job/internship there are so many opportunities

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Although there is no campus and therefore no campus housing, the apartments you get either on your own or through COH are super cute

Greek Life: We dont have greek life

1 College Freshman

Athletics: There are no athletics unless you count the club that attends one of the 2 gyms in all of paris

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It's hard to get into classes because the class size is so small. The students are ethnically diverse but come from similar backgrounds; wealth. I have met two princesses and a handful of people that take their private jets to the campus and then travel on weekends. The party scene is exclusively in clubs and bars because residences have quiet hours after 10pm and neighbors do not hesitate to call the police.

Administration sucks and is frustrating and everything is expensive.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: AUP is the best of both worlds. You get a liberals arts education and benefit from the American system of education while living in Paris! I loved speaking French with the local patisserie owner and my guardienne (building owner). The class sizes are small and the teachers really know you as an individual. My classes has 4, 8, 8, and 20 students respectively (20 students for French). I had classes outside, at museums and parks. In my Creative Writing class, I was able to go to the London Book Fair which was an amazing experience. There are plenty of student jobs as well. The only downside is the lack of science majors.

Campus Housing: People live in apartments all around the city. It's a little harder to go and see people with everybody so spread out.

When students moan about University life over drinks, anyone passing by would assume that the students are just wasting their time at the University and not getting anything in return. This is the farthest thing from the truth. Students have the inalienable right to complain about anything that needs complaining about, with no one better to do it but themselves. The truth is, acceptance into the American University of Paris and within the University community is one of the greatest things to happen to most of the students. There's opportunity in the name of this institution. The ability to live independently abroad and be immersed in another culture, the humor that can be found in an individual's reaction to culture shock, and the whole experience in general—all of these things collectively make up what AUP is really about.

There is a definite advantage that comes with being at AUP. There's more to University life than just sitting around drinking, laughing, and forgetting that college doesn't last forever. In the end, all the memories blur together about what new clubs opened and who was there and with whom. It's about the individual a student becomes through his time spent at the American University of Paris. This not only includes a student's University education, but also his education of people and places and how he relates to all of this in the world. The University is a living, breathing, and changing example of how every individual makes up the community he lives in. There is a definite advantage in knowing what can be done with the strength of fresh individuality and a new, open perspective.
