Tuition & Financial Aid: Board of Governor's Waiver Is Helpful – Although I didn't qualify for financial aid, the BOG waiver did help me get through college. It saved me hundreds of dollars in registration fees. People are also notified quickly whether they've been qualified for the waiver.

Academic Flexibility: The Abundance of Classes Is Amazing – There are over 1000 professors at American River College. Most classes are offered at all times of the day, which makes it very convenient for working individuals to continue going to school. The classes here also transfer to many of the UCs and CSUs.

Campus Resources: Printing Is Important – Printing in our library is 10 cents per page. It's nice when people have chemistry, because people can print free chemistry-related items in the chemistry lab. I wish we had a physics lab though. 10 cents per page can get pretty expensive by the end of the year.

Campus Resources: The MESA Program – The MESA program on campus brings together similar people of the college. The criteria they set for new members helps with this. In addition to studying, and receiving help from professors, bond activities are also shared among members when the time is right.

Campus Resources: Facilities Are Getting Renewed – Although American River College is an older campus, improvements are always being made. There is currently a new cafeteria being constructed on campus. A new parking structure is even being developed.

Student Body: Brought Together by a Common Major – My engineering classes are full of all types of people. Everyone is always able to start a conversation with a fellow classmate over how a test went, and study groups are almost always formed amongst the most diverse of people. Classes are generally composed of a friendly bunch.

Career Services: The career service helps the students out and always answers the question. They get the job done, which helps us a lot!

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think that going to a community college is a great way to earn a good education while saving money, however, sometimes to be enrolled in the classes can be a hassle. I think around the time that classes start, registering for the class can be a headache, especially when the class is constantly packed.

Overall Experience: Not "American" River College Anymore – ive been going there for 3 years, and for 3 years it has gotten worse and worse to the point people call ARC "All Russians College" they refuse to speak english and pretend not to know what you need, unless you speak russian and have a salvage title car, you will never get anywhere, al but one of them is on welfare but gets to work in our tool room, yet normal english speaking white guys are struggling to find work. its horrible. the only reason ARC passes is because of the teachers.

Overall Experience: I like my school. I don't like the new rules and guidlines to finical aide. I have been deined my finical aide due to the new changes.

Online Courses: Math 103 – I thought that I would be able to take an online math class, because I had it before and failed because I was missing some homework assignments. I was wrong I need to have a lecture class, because of time management as well.

Campus Resources: just built a new student center bookstore is never a problem finding what you need nice campus ,students working on campus and everyone is really helpful .. no problems so far

Career Services: Havent Actually Had Opportunity to Utilize the Center but Will Next Week When School Star – ill let u know after fall semester starts.. I have heard good things and when picking up flyers and info was pleased with positive attitudes of the people there.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Im going to a 2 year college so it isn't expensive. I have BOGW and financial aid so everything is covered for my tuition. The financial aid people will always help you tell you your status.

5 College Sophomore

Career Services: Career center, everyone is so helpful and is willing to help anyone that is in need. They will not give up and keep on trying until you find the right path that suit you and your needs.

Online Courses: Biology Online – It was difficult finding the right class so I had no choice but to pick a online class.I never took a online class before so I was worried whether I'll be focus or not. It wasn't to bad then I thought it was! My teacher was very laid back and gave out every little information that was needed, if you hate reading then I don't refer you to take a online class. Overall I did pretty well, just did a little extra studying.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Be Motivated – The process for financial aid isn't bad like most the students make it out to be. As long as you turn in the necessary paper work on time you'll receive all aid you qualify for. If you do procrastinate you won't receive your financial aid on time which will delay yo from getting your necessary books.

Tuition & Financial Aid: It was very easy for everything to fall into place with the financial aid and my tuition at ARC. The college does all the hard work for you in this department.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Starting Fresh – I had to start over with my credits because the previous college would not transfer credits. However I love the fact that most of my credits earned through ARC will transfer to a university.

Overall Experience: Needs Improvement – Overall OK college. A little creepy during the walk to my night classes, walkways could use more lighting. Parking would have to be the worst part of attending this school. The teachers know their stuff and are great. I enjoy the experience just needs some TLC.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid office is always a hassle. The people are rude to the students. There is always a long line. They always give students the run around, never get you what you need in a timely manner.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: The Computer Network Is Ok – The computer network is ok. Sometimes they have problems with the computers staying on beyond a certain perid of time, even when a student is working on it productively. Their system shuts down by itself sometimes also. But other than that the network is ok. They charge us ten cent per page to print.

Campus Resources: My School Is Boring – My school doesnt really do anything special that would stand out to other schools. I do not know why it is just the way they opporate.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: Very Good Resources – The student center offers a lot at my school. For instance, they have councelors there to help you if you have any questions about anything on campus. The library is very helpful, the people who work there are very nice, and they see to it that you get what you need.

2 College Sophomore

Career Services: Career Center Unhelpful – The career center doesn't give you any information that you couldn't just get off of the internet.
