Academic Flexibility: Overall, great campus! But since there are so many students its really hard to talk to a counselor in time of need. The parking is really bad also, since we are in a residential area its harder to expand.

Student Body: I would say half of the students are over 30 years old and work full time. The other half are younger students. There are many clubs that you can join at school which are fun, and very good way to meet people with similar interests. Although it is hard to get together since most students work over 20 hours a week, in addition taking difficult subjects.

Academic Flexibility: When I first enrolled at ARC I had no idea what kind of schedule I was going to have in the future but I realize now that there are a wide variety of classes and times which all work with personal life. And the small class sizes make it easier and more comfortable to go to class.

Online Courses: I don't have any online course but my math class is based off a website called connectmath. We still meet in a classroom but all homework is done online and I really enjoy it. There are several ways to show examples if I get stuck or need help. It's a lot easier than doing it all on paper.

Career Services: I have not graduated yet but I imagine and have high hopes that the college will be able to help with finding me a job in my field of study. They have a work study program that I want to get involved in.

Campus Resources: Academics are outstanding with American River College. Unfortunately, they have very poor clerical skills. They tend to take very long periods of time to respond to counseling, records, business affairs, etc. Aside from office duties lacking organization, this campus is awesome.

Campus Resources: The computer network at ARC is fairly poor. I sometimes cant even get a connection on my lap top, which is usually very unfortunate because all of the computers in the library and the student center are occupied. The computers are great, updated, and fast, but the connection is not.

Campus Resources: The entire campus is alive and buzzing with excellent resources. The student center that was recently rebuilt has great computers, an awesome cafeteria, lobby, and even a Starbucks. The financial aid office is generally very helpful and friendly, as well as the library and librarians. On campus there's always something to look at or get involved in on the bulletin boards and in the quad or halls with coffee, jewelry, food, and service vendors. Because our school is so diverse, multicultural week and rush weeks are fantastic.

Academic Flexibility: In regards to convenience with class enrollment, ARC is very poorly organized. Its been very hard for me to get the classes I want only because of the way the website is set up. On the other hand, my experience with the professors, the staff, and the over all environment of the school has been top of the notch. My only complaint is the website and enrollment.

Campus Resources: American River College is an exceptionally diverse school and administration does very well with welcoming the concept of diversity. I'm very impressed! ARC also has one of the top theater programs in the nation.

Career Services: I'm not too sure of hear services. I graduated in May with two associates degrees and have no heard or received any information regarding careers. I did visit the career center and was only directed to join clubs and "network". Not much direction given. I am transferring in fall 2014 to Sacramento state to fulfill my bachelors goal and hope the career center there will be a grea asset upon graduation.

Student Body: My school has a very wide variety of divers people. Most are serious students who are goal oriented and strive for excellence. There are a number of students who are not any on the previous statements. Some seem to go to school to receive the aid or fulfill a requirement of some sort. These student safe easy to pick out though and easy to avoid in group projects.

Academic Experience: Our professors are very involved in the students and curriculum. They always remember your name and current progress. Our beacon tutoring program is fabulous and I feel very privileged to be able to take advantage of such a great program.

Academic Experience: I enjoy all of my science classes taken at ARC. Our staff are full of enthusiasm and heart. Particularly Ms. Wheaton and Mr. Aubert. Both of them have taught me so very much and instilled in me a passion for life and earth sciences. ARC is a fabulous school and I would recommend it to anyone wishing to better their education and life.

Academic Flexibility: Concurrent enrollment requirement is not supported by adequate access to required courses.

Academic Experience: My major is registered nursing. I have to meet a grade point average in my science classes and some non-science classes like, english and nutrition. The first counselor I met with failed to tell me that I need a at a B average for the science section and the non-science classes at least a 2.5. So, now I'm having to take more classes to meet other campuses requirements to get into their nursing program.

Online Courses: I like the online classes because they have good instructors and the class was structure enough for me to follow. And since I'm a heavy note taker I didn't have any difficulties in teaching myself.

Academic Flexibility: It was somewhat easy to transfer credits for my classes because the I had to convert my class codes to the colleges that I chose for nursing school. For instance, Hartnell requires a ethnics class but American River doesn't have such class so I had to figure out a class that was equivelant to Hartnell's.

Online Courses: I've enjoyed taking online courses at American River College. I wish more were available.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Financial aid is easy to apply for, and all the instructions are on the website.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: Taking courses online is convenient and enlightening.

Campus Resources: There are many resources on campus ranging from the student center to the athletic center to the resource lab itself. Pretty much anything your instructors ask you to do can be done on campus.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: The student center has wifi of a good speed and open availability. The center also has multiple floor outlets for people to charge phones and plug in laptops. There are 2 public access computer labs and at least 2 more for specific class use. Printing is 10 cents per page so not bad.

3 College Junior

Career Services: The ladies who do the resume assistance are great. I have gone in on multiple occasions for help with my resume, with cover letters, and personal statements as well as help with career assessments.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: The clubs on campus are fairly active giving the student body a much needed jolt mid semester. With the new student center completed many people flock there to study, hang out, and use the resources available ie a computer lab, as well as more mundane tasks like eating. The grounds are very well kept so people also can be seen having picnics, playing Frisbee, or taking a nap on the beautiful lawns.
