Academic Experience: I believe the program is very well constructed and the online campus is very easy to adjust to. This is critical for online school because it is online and typically it is up to the student to figure out things on their own. This is also the only thing I can say bad about online learning. Very often the questions you got wrong on a quiz are never announced, so you need to go back and review everything you learned if you want to have any chance at learning from your mistakes! I understand this is important to prevent cheating in an online environment, but sometimes it is challenging. For example, Algebra ultimately necessitated that I establish time with a tutor on the side! In this regard, workload can be exacerbated to a very challenging extent due to the students reliance on their own means. Overall though, I believe this learning method allows a student to learn in a fashion that best represents the way adults must learn in reality! Through effort, dedication, and resourcefulness.

Campus Resources: I began my studies while deployed in 2011. Back then they had a system for conducting your online learning and it was a little shoddy to be honest. But ever since they have updated to the Sakai infrastructure, I am glad I am enrolled in AMU to say the least. The websites are streamlined, load quickly, and rarely if ever do I encounter issues. The website is reliable and has never been down. I have enjoyed my online learned much more thanks to this exceptional interface.

Online Courses: I have loved online school so far. And nearly without exception, my instructors were extremely helpful and instrumental in my studies. I have gotten wonderful feedback on forums and thesis papers. There are some classes that were not optimal, and they seemed to coincide with the curriculum being less than exceptional. There is a programming class that taught me practically nothing about actual programming and it was made extraordinarily difficult due to the fact that the instructor was almost completely inaccessible. I took this class to see if I could automate my workflow, but ultimately just learned how to use Object Oriented Programming to make weird little games when using a program called ALICE. This was so completely underwhelming that I decided that electives were something to be avoided rather than pursued. Fortunately I had enough military experience to transfer. Ultimately, I have found great fulfillment in my general education studies so far and have looked forward to my education, but believe that some of the courses could use some pruning. I can not say enough good things about my professors other than that. They have all been exception.

Campus Resources: The resource needed most is the online library. I don't think this library is easy to use. It is hard to navigate and search and seems very disorganized.

4 College Junior

Student Body: There is a lot of diversity with the classes. The majority of students are associated with the military and are usually older than the typical college-age student.

Online Courses: The overall experience I have with the online classes is very good. Teachers give assignments with plenty of time to submit them. Peer-to-peer responses are key to succeeding at this school, so you never feel like you are alone and there is always help when needed.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: For the most part, the teachers are very accommodating and reasonable. I have had a few minor issues in regards to teachers responding to messages in a timely manner. I have found that the online forums and posts for assignments are very informative and make it easy to learn about new topics.

Tuition & Financial Aid: This school always has a representative I can speak with if I need help filling out Financial Aid information. Their financial portal on their website is straight forward and simple to use.

Academic Flexibility: One of the benefits of online college is the flexibility to manage school and a hectic lifestyle. This is only made easier by APUS. The professors post assignments and forum well enough in advance that you are able to complete all assignments on time and still find time to have a daily life. In the event that you need additional time the professors are willing to work with you to make your experience of online school that much easier. I remember when I had to ask for an extension because I had a death in the family. The professor understood and was compassionate and allowed me to post an assignment late. As a Soldier I had my Military training evaluated for college credit before I chose a school. I was upset because some of the schools offered me little credit at all. When I applied to APUS I was pleasantly surprised when my Military training applied to almost all of my elective credits.

Career Services: After I graduated with my Associates from APUS I was given very helpful information regarding my status as an Alum. I frequently receive emails about career workshop and job fairs. Also, during my classes I would receive invitations regarding joining National Collegiate Scholars Society associated with APUS. They informed me that becoming a member would offer a network of other Alumni that could aid me in possible career prospects. I feel as if APUS truly puts a vested interest in their own.

Campus Resources: Being that I am an online student I do not deal with the APUS campus life but I can share my experience with online campus life. The online advisors are very helpful and can be reached at any time. The interaction with them is conducted online in a chat room format and is in real time. After using the student resource center they email correspondence in regards to the recent activity with your advisor and follow up to make sure your problem was solved. The online library is simple to use and has a great of sources that can be used. Essentially if you can think of a topic they have a book, journal or an essay to help you.

Campus Resources: APUS has been rated the top online school for a reason because they are the most user/military friendly school online. The books are provided for you with your tuition so you will get the most up to date material and never worry about buying the wrong one. For military students they are great at understanding that military training can be applied to college credit and award accordingly. The navigation in and around the website and classrooms are straight forward and are easy to find what you are looking for. Instructors frequently post announcements and assignment information so the student is well informed. This is the best online school I have attended!

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: Im a criminal justice major, everything I've done has been what I expected. I've only taken my core classes and while I pilled them all on in a few months, there was not much that was ridiculously hard about the workload. The workload that I have take the material was both fascinating and informal.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: The curriculum provided by this school is top notch. And the educators that provide these materials are the very best in their field. Their extensive knowledge of their subjects makes for both a great class and provide real world knowledge. The communication amongst the educators and students is either one on one or as a class.

4 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: I chose this school because they provided the best options while deployed in Afghanistan. Their constant communication and understanding of situations out of my control made for a great semester abroad. Transferring credits to this school from CTC was super easy. All they required were my transcripts. Overall great teachers, who understand those who work and go to school full time.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: The entire process has been great. It's easy to register for classes.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Not a whole lot is offered at this school, but what is offered is highly sought out.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The instructors answer all the questions you have about assignments. Everything here is great.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I love how the school is willing to work with you no matter the circumstances. They understand that we are all adults and have lives outside of school.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The school is online but all of the resources are there for you to use. The online library is extensive and full of useful material.
