Campus Resources: The university's online library is quite diverse and easy to navigate

Campus Resources: ...I do not follow the academic programs for I live out of state. I must give them the benefit of the doubt, I suppose.

Academic Flexibility: I discovered APUS while employed with the WalMart Corporation. After some initial investigating it turned out to be a great choice for my busy lifestyle. The classes are flexible enough to work around other aspects of life. I would recommend to anyone who is interested in taking online courses.

Tuition & Financial Aid: This year the financial aid process 'sucks'. The school is having issues with the new 'MAP' system-this has been going on since June -if I am not mistaken. The allegedly states this is the reason for late refund disbursements. You cannot even get anyone to answer the telephones-you always get voice recording about high call volume-it takes nearly 72 hrs to receive an email response. On line chat is available; however, you still have to wait for a long time before receiving a response.

They take their time , it appears, in resolving issues with your refunds. These are funds we are responsible for repaying and they are at liberty to hold as long as the want. It is said you are unable to speak with a live agent.

They need to be more considerate of their disbursement factors-are any other on-line colleges having the same issues with disbursing refunds this year?

Online Courses: With online courses the registration is pretty much the say a traditional schools. the workload is a little unique is because the school makes an effort to build a classroom atmosphere by having mandatory forum assignments. with these assignments the instructor poses a question then all the students respond to it as well as respond to each other and it helps you to get to know the other classmates. the workload is anything but easy it is actually very challenging, more so than any other school I have attended .

Campus Resources: My school is unique because it is a regionally accredited online school so you don't have to wonder if you attending a diploma mill or not. They also have virtual job fairs which I think is great. they are really help society(employers) to except online learning.

Campus Resources: well American public university is an online school so there really is no computer lab, however since it is online the school does a really good job of keeping up the technology needed to attend class and that make it as easy as possible.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The education is very much worth the 6000 dollar tuition which is very affordable compared to other schools. you will have to take out student loans but that also allows for a nice refund check. though the refund is not super important , if you are going to have to pay the money back why not be able to use some of it for personal reasons , such as a computer or paying off those loans while still in school.
I love that the school is very upfront with the fees so that you know all that you are responsible for and all the fees are covered in your financial aid which is great.

Campus Resources: The faculty is generally helpful and student interaction is also very helpful. However I do not like the use there online library, in my opinion is hard to navigate. I feel that the degree of difficulty as well as quality in the education you are receiving is really worth the money. The work is just as challenging as the brick and mortar schools I have attended. over all I would recommend this school to anyone who feels that they are self starters and does not mind more of an independent learning style.

Academic Experience: Overall I would say that I have had a positive Academic Experience so far while at AMU. Most of the professors are involved and engaging without being over-bearing. The curriculum progresses at a normal rate; getting more challenging as you get further into the degree plan. The registration process, class enrollment, and degree plans are incredibly user friendly and helpful! The biggest disadvantage is the lack of personal contact that comes from online education.

Academic Flexibility: The main reason I decided to attend AMU was the flexibility of enrollment. Rather than having to wait for a new semester to start, classes start at the beginning of every month. I also really appreciate how easy the enrollment process was as a whole. The advisors were able to help with anything unclear and waive whatever was not needed due to my active duty status. The course load is completely up to the student which was also very appealing to me.

Student Body: Being that it is an online school it is harder to accurately gage the student body. That being said, from what one can gather by my peers personal explanations, the ethnic, political, and relgious backgrounds seem to be fairly diverse. The school, specifically American Military University, is geared towards active duty and their families so it is as diverse as the service itself. The acceptance levels are rather impressive to me. The diversity is used as a tool to encourage growth rather than an issue.

Online Courses: Online classes are very difficult for students who are also full-time workers. The workload is very tiring, and strenuous, and you do not get much interaction with the teachers. It is nice to have a week to finish the work though.

Campus Resources: The only unique thing about this school is that it supports military students. The problem is that I am not in the military, and it seems to support them more than regular students.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The online library is available all day. And it has many articles and books to chose from.

Campus Resources: The network is hard to load a lot of the time, and it is difficult to take tests online because it freezes. I need a computer for my online classes, so it is frustrating.

Career Services: The only contact that I have had with any of these services would be the career services center. They help you with resume writing, along with a vast majority of other important factors to consider when its near time for your graduation. When you leave APUS, you are not alone, you receive tons of help and guidance.

Campus Resources: With my intended major of Emergency and Disaster Management, there were not alot of schools close by for me to attend. At APUS, they offered my degree, along with tons of information for me to consider. Even though all classes are offered only online, it fits my schedule, and it works for working people. Any time I have had to contact the school for anything, whoever I ended up speaking with were polite and very knowledgeable of their specific role, which I believe is hard to find today. The people there act as if they enjoy their job and helping people.

Campus Resources: The student resources as APUS are endless! With an online library filled with books, articles, etc one has the world at their fingertips. Student groups as also a huge part at APUS. They have a student activity group for almost every major. If ever in doubt, one can always contact the student services for a full explanation or help of any and all of the features this school has to offer!

Tuition & Financial Aid: My school gets this grade because not only was it easy to get my financial aid but they took off 15% because of where I work. I was even eligible for automatic grants through the school.

Academic Flexibility: I give this school an A+ for the simple fact that they are willing to help adult students who work full time and have families. The school excepts your everyday work on the job as college credits as long as it fits into the academic needs of your major. These things are crucial for adult students.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: As a distance learning school, there is a limited amount of school involvement and extra curricular programs.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: Except for the occasional outage or update period, available resources are good.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: Resources are generally decent, but since this is a for-profit school, the staff takes every opportunity to nickel and dime its students. It feels like the school exists more to provide a supplemental paycheck to instructors who are employed full time elsewhere, and students are just the source of that paycheck.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I am a business major. Classes are pretty much what you would think that they would be. You are required to start out with a research based course so that's pretty handy for the rest of your load. You are given all of the assignments up front typically and can usually turn in assignments early if you choose. I find this pretty handy if my personal life becomes hectic I can work on assignments ahead of time, when I have time. The workload tends to be writing heavy but nothing too terribly bad. I like it.
