5 College Freshman

Campus Resources: Way better than Ashford University that I wasted a year at. AIU is helpful, educational, and I feel that I am in college even though I attended online due to working 2 jobs. AIU is a Wonderful school and less costly than most online programs I researched.

Campus resources at AIU Online are very useful to students.  The network systems are accessible, and students can tour the library and attend student activities with ease. There are free tutoring services and advisors for anything a student could ever need. The ground campuses are very beautiful and aesthetic, especially the London campus.  The school updates the Virtual Campus very often and adds new features on a regular basis.

Campus Events/Traditions
  • Attending Classes Anywhere: A surveyed student says, "I go to an online college because my husband is in the military and I am needed at home almost everyday" (Survey, 2010). This is very common at AIU Online. Classes include people that are sitting on the couch at home, at work, and even sitting in a tent in the Middle East. As long as a student has an intternet connection and a computer, then they can easily attend and graduate from AIU Online.
  • Virtual & Ground Graduation Ceremonies: Students that accomplish the task of graduating from AIU Online have the option to attend a Virtual Ceremony with friends, family and others. They also have the opportunity to walk accross the stage of one of the AIU ground campuses as well! There are campuses in London, Atlanta, or even South Florida!
Unique Features
  • Campus instant messaging system: AIU Online has a very unique method of communication for students to Instant Message (IM) other students, their instructors and advisors. This feature makes it very easy to meet new people in the school, keep in contact with them, and build a network of friends very quickly.
  • Facebook linking: As recently as the beginning of 2010, students have a Facebook button on the Virtual Campus. This is optional, and only works if the student presses the button. Doing so will link the school to the Facebook page of the student.
Did You Know?
  • AIU Online students have the choice to graduate on one of the United States' or London's AIU campuses.
  • Many student advisers attended AIU Online.
