Student Body: I have heard bad stories from friends saying that their classmates don't help in a group project or that they don't understand the class they are taking and act like they have no idea what they are there to study for. At AIU I have only had a great experience with my classmates they are helpful and are excited to do their work.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I researched online schools before I chose AIU, I thought because it was a University my education would be better but I am paying more than most other schools and the financial department does not explain your options in a manner that you can understand without having to take a course on financial managment through college.

Campus Resources: There is learning labs that are accessible for all students. There is also an online library with web resources and access to journal articles, ebooks, and other resources. It seems to be extensive but I find it is not always easy to find what I am looking for.

Online Courses: Online classes work well for me since I work full time. There is an extensive amount of writing involved each week. This is more difficult than a regular classroom setting. This is hard for me since I am not good with expressing myself in detail.

Online Courses: Depending on the teacher you will have 1-2 live chat sessions a week. The live chats are interactive, however if you are unable to attend a live chat, they are recorded so you could listen to the chat and email the professor with any questions. There is a lot of interaction on the discussion board. Students comment on each others' posted assignments and really learn from each other. There is also usually a group project that puts students into small groups that work together to complete a project. Communication is key at AIU online.

Campus Resources: AIU Online has an extensive online library specific to the program you are studying. There are labs for specific computer programs such as Power Point, Excel, etc. There are also labs for writing in APA style, citations and references. If you cannot find what you need on your own through the labs and webinars, you can chat with a librarian or send an email to the librarian for help. I have emailed the librarian on a couple of occassions and received a wealth of information to help me.

Career Services: The Career Services at AIU Online are incredible. You can submit your resume, any style you want, and someone will look it over and make recommedations for you to make it better. Once the person assigned to you thinks your resume is the best it can be, it is posted in Optimum Resume for the job types you are looking for. Also, your Career counselor will contact you automatically as you get close to your graduation to see if you are ready to look for a job and will assist in getting your resume out to the proper businesses. There are also ways you can practice interviewing skills and other job hunting skills.

Academic Flexibility: The school schedule is very flexible and this is why I chose AIU. I can work fulltime and be a mother and sign in at anytime to do my work. As long as you have all of your work submitted by easy deadlines it is very easy to succeed.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I didn't think far enough into my degree decision to understand the amount of debt that I am incurring will be more than I can make in a career with that degree in one year. After completing my associates degree and now partially into my bachelors I have $25k in student loans. At this point, and when I graduate, I will be eligible to be a glorified Office Manager. I am doing that now without a degree and the degree wont increase my income. Hopefully the economy will bounce back and that will help.

Academic Experience: I am taking Business Management concentrating in HealthCare management but I feel the classes really aren't focusing in Health Care. I have taken one class related in my first 6 months of classes. I feel that some of the classes really aren't preparing me for the real world. Such as MIS, every hospital or medical office has their own IT person so I don't feel I need to take this type of class.

Academic Experience: I wish there were more interactions with student than the discussion board. I also wish some instructors were more involved. I have had some chat sessions where things were basically copied and pasted from the assignment list. On the other side I have had some wonderful instructors and met some great people. I wish they would help find scholarships or offer them for grades.

Tuition & Financial Aid: They have helped with Financial Aid, would like it if they helped send me information concerning scholarships. I am a widow whos husband died of cancer and it will be hard to pay back the studend loans, but knowing getting a degree is what will help me get into a better paying postion, it will be worth the cost in the end

Online Courses: I like taking online courses because I am able to come home after work instead of going to class and once I get the kids and myself situated I am able to start on my homework. the only thing that I don't like about online courses is that sometimes the instructors take quite a while to respond to your emailed questions.

Tuition & Financial Aid: American InterContinental University Financial Aid Department will go the extra mile to get you the most of the incentives for starting your school year to completion. The education that I am getting is worth the effort for me, I love to learn at my own pace and besides I get the most of my learning experience by doing so.

Career Services: I give the Career Services at American InterContinental University a B, because even though I did not use this service I was sent invitation to several of the live online informational session. I choose at that time to commit myself to my studies and therefore did not get involved.

Online Courses: TThis school just does not meet my expectations of a online school. Consolers do not return calls and the tuition is extremely high for everything that is not offered this online school shoul be offering some kind of scholarship yet it does not . I have look for help and their is none. This school does have some great tools for resume, and Microsoft training so I feel above average for at least being partied x???? of this college for this . I have learn new ideas from my instructors too. Therefor, not all has been a loss.
