Online Courses: I was not sure about online as I had heard that they do not place well and the numbers of success was not good. I decided to go based upon the fact that I needed to get enrolled and the community college credits would not transfer to the college I needed to go to after they promised me they would. AIU was recommended to me from Colorado technical college as they were the only one that offered forensic science. I enjoy the flexibility but need to be a little more diciplined about it. The classes are fine, however the books are not so easy to get to since my internet access is only an air card. The books need to be easier to print so I can review them easier and not cost myself a lot of headaches and money for data usage.

Academic Experience: The professors I ahd were very engaging and involved with the students. They encouraged me to email them if I had questions about the course work, visit with them during their office hours, offered a gang of resources to foster learning and gave me the sense that they really cared about my understanding of the content.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I believe the value of education is worth the tuition. I just wish that it was not so expensive! The financial aid process went smoothly, but when I was laid off from work, I didn't feel there was helpful assistance from the financial aid department (help looking for scholarships, suggestions for putting another plan into action, etc.) other than an email asking if I could make a partial payment and to keep them informed about my situation.

Academic Experience: I am a business major with a concentration in Human Resoources Management. I did not realize there were so many math related subjects that I would have to take for this major. Math is not one of my strong suits. However, AIU provides a myriad of resources to help you achieve the educationaal success you are striving for. I have ben to other online schools before, but I believe this program offers a lot more than just the material; it offers you support and encouragement to think outside the box, think in terms of the whole picture, not just what you think your learning should be about. So I guess that is why taking classes that are more related to math and economics does not bother me. I want to get it in as quickly as possible, so taking two classes at once can get a little hairy. I try to stay organized so that I can satisfy the requirements for both classes. I believe having a business degree is a stepping stone to a promising future.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think the tuition is about the same as other schools. My problem is the Financial Aid part of it. I got a letter that says 2012, I don't qualify for anything and I have 2 federal loans and a school loan. I don't have money to just throw to a school.

Student Body: I feel that some of the assignments are being duplicated and I put in a lot of research and work and I'm sure people get same grade as me, plagiarism checks are a joke.

Academic Experience: It has a lot of problems but mostly on the financial aid side of the school, the classes are mostly at your own pace but do have weekly deadlines that should be met.

Academic Flexibility: The flexibility in the classes and the curriculum is pretty flexible. There are assignments that have certain requirements as to when they are due each week, but as a student there is plenty of time to make sure each assignment is submitted on time. Thinking back, I think the only frustration I had was learning the APA formatting. Most of it was easy to understand, but the citations were frustrating. I had a hard time with paraphrasing at first, but once it was explained to me and I got it, it became much easier and no where near as frustrating. Everything else I feel has been hassle free.

Academic Experience: So far I have had wonderfully helpful professors who I can tell really care about their students success. They help me out as much as they possibly can. Some professors I can even call if I have an immediate problem with an assignment. If I e-mail the professors, most of them respond quickly even though I may have to wait 24 to 48 hours. I do not recall ever having to wait that long for a response. I can instant message them if they are online at the time also. The curriculum is great, sometimes a bit overwhelming, but before the end of the 5 weeks, I am right on track and where I should be and need to be. I did not have much trouble with the class registration at all. I had to write an essay on how important it was for me to return to school, let them know what area I wanted to study and paid my entrance fee and I was in. I found it very simple.

Academic Experience: An A- is my overall grade so far. I carry a GPA of a 3.8 currently. Some of the things that I find unique about AIU is the professors. The professors are very knowledgeable in their field of study and extremely helpful. They are there to help the students to achieve success. There are also Learning Labs that a student can go to, there are Tutors that students can get help from for each particular course. Another aspect I find amazing is for instance if I am unable to attend a Live Chat with the teacher and other classmates, I can still listen to the teachings for that class through the Archives that is listed on the Live Chat section. That is extremely useful. It is best to attend class if you can, but at least there is an option of still being able to see what is being taught. I take 2 courses every 5 weeks most of the time, but right now I am taking 1 course per 5 weeks. The college has very nice alumni that help you with anything you seem to have a problem with from financial aid to an assigned student adviser, librarians, technical support, faculty and so on. I can really tell that they "care" about my education and as long as I get in there and do the assignments and follow the rubric that is also given to me, ask questions when need be, I succeed at what I am doing and it makes me feel good about myself.

Campus Resources: The Campus Resources at AIU Online are great. There are main offices such as Financial Aid, Admissions, Student Records, Library and so on. What I think is reallt resourceful is the Bookshelf and Learning Center. Bookshelf gives students access to all their course books online and offline. The Learning Center provides tutoring, challenge exams, and learning labs! There is also a Virtual Commons, catch up with students socially or join a club on campus!

Academic Flexibility: I am never able to make the live class online on Wednesday nights. No worries, because AIU archives all my classes, I'm always able to view class after work. I'm never missing a beat because I can view class, submit assignments on time, and chat with my teacher when I have questions. The academic flexibility is superb!

Campus Resources: I'm a returning student at AIU and I never had any issues. It was always convenient for me to attend AIU online. All of the classes and books are online and accessible. They even have an iPhone app! I am always in communication with faculty, staff, teachers, and classmates. They have tutoring assistance available for all upcoming assignments. When graduation is coming up, Career Services helps with resume building and finding jobs! AIU is a great school!

Tuition & Financial Aid: I was glad to see that AIU offers a scholarship, which they do help you to try to win. This would help out a lot because I have child care expenses and still have to pay 1400+ dollars for shcool.

Online Courses: I was a bit nervous at first of going online and hoping that I didn't fail. But once I got into the classroom it wasn't that bad after a few weeks. I didn't have to be face to face with someone I could just communicate with them online through chat area. I didn't have to worry about the winter months when it got bad on rather I was going to make it to classes or not. This online classes I am able to manage my time spent online. I have really learned a lot and it has been a challenge to me after all these years of not being in school.

AIU Online is enjoyed by students that have a variety of diverse schedules, backgrounds, and career goals. The school is a wonderful choice for those that want an accredited college degree but have limited mobility and heavy time constraints. The Instructors here are well prepared, enthusiastic, and eager to broaden the minds of their students. At AIU Online, many peers turn into friends, teachers into mentors, and students into scholars.
