Online Courses: There are no online course work...I am graduating this spring and interested in scholarship/Grants for graduate school...?

Academic Experience: Each section of the school is different and unique

Academic Experience: I try my hardest to maintain an A or a B. Since I am a full time student I concentrate all my time on school work. Since my school is very small and private the teachers interact with us very often. Most of the students all know each other. I also love how it is very diverse with people and there are no cliches. Our teachers are very strict with our grades and want everything detailed and turned on time or you lose a letter grade every day you are late with an assignment. Our financial aid adviser also reminds us to turn in all our paper work and helps out with any problems.

Academic Flexibility: The classes are small, but I prefer a small class because they focus on you more than a huge class. My classes gave me a few spare time, since art is a big major in class. But the convenience of my new school outweighs the non-transferrable credits.

Campus Resources: Well, we have great computers; We have iMac in our classrooms and over heads. They have wireless in the whole the building, the problem is that the internet is very slow and its hard to find information with slow connection. Printing on campus is really nice with color laser, but we have to pay before we print. Its not expensive, its only 5 cents and for color is 10 cents.

3 College Freshman

Campus Resources: Well, our school offers us CTA pass to going around Chicago. Its a great thing they have give us, because it save us money when we go to places that are farther than our destination.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: The facilities on campus aren't bad. We're next to many restaurants and coffee shops. Its not a great campus to live in, but its a great way to enjoy with friends and walk around the area and explore new places. Our campus is very small and very comfortable to sit around.

Student Body: Well, my class is fill with full-time students and a small about of part-time students. It's a difficult school with very talented students, it has a lot of competition in the class. Every Faculty is very nice and help anyone that needs help with their artwork. Many students juggle many roles since they come to school and go to work right after.

Overall Experience: I'm transferring to a credible school in the spring, BECAUSE the students are uneducated and have the intellectualism of a fish, only because the school accepts anybody who can pick up a pencil and is not legally blind. I cannot associate myself with people who don't take the professionalism seriously and act like high school freshmen. For the campus...its smaller than a children school the library and lunch room are pathetic, and the school runs like a nonfunctional high school. This all took me by surprise because the alumni history is great, SCAM?...the school is pitiful and deceiving.

Overall Experience: Happy at My Education – I absolutely love everything about my school. To teachers, environment, & people.I wouldn't transfer to a different school, the education that my teachers are giving me is what making me succeed into what i want to major in. It's really really tough trying to pay off school in this type of economy.I'm trying really hard to pay off my tuition.I just really want to continue going to school, graduating, & getting a better job.My school offers so much help to people who need it.Which makes me proud to be to be in an environment that cares.

Academic Flexibility: School Has Great Flexibility – Whether a student is part-time or full-time there is always an option to work around your schedule to choose class times that work best for you. If you are unhappy or unsatisfied with a course or a professor there is always an option to transfer and/or drop a class. At my time being at the school I have not had to transfer or switch any of my classes and hopefully will stay that way.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: Many Opportunities – The professors at the American Academy of Art are very involved in student oriented activities. The professors are always flexible and work around your schedule to sort out any questions you may have. Making appointments with the school dean is fairly easy if you have any serious questions. The curriculum at school is very productive and every class has a goal to accomplish oncee the semester is over. Professors usually work together to update eachother on what assignments have been given to us to make sure we are not being over-worked.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Amazing Art Opportunities – The school that I attend has many chances where students can participate in art competitions for cash and other prizes. These competitions boost many students to do the best that they can in order to win.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Grateful for School – My experience with the school is amazing. I feel that choosing to go to this school was worth-while. I have met very great students and teachers that motivate me to graduate school and that wish the best for me. One of my favorite experiences at the school was the art gallery that the freshman alumni were able to present to other students and school faculty. I would choose to go to this school again because of experience in careers that is has given me.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Not That Many Activities – The school that I am attending involves only around 300-400 students, therefore there aren't as many facilities as you would hope. There are no athletic centers or any auditoriums. There are 2 school lounges and a library where students take breaks at in their free time.

4 College Junior

Student Body: People Are Phenomenal – My school consists of a variety of many talented and motivated individuals. Most of the students that I have met are very dedicated to graduating school as early as possible and hope to receive higher degrees in different schools.

1 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Not Much Help – Although the school is worth my tuition pay, I do believe that I did not receive as much financial help as what I should have. I am struggling with the school loans that I had to take out and am therefore having a financial burden. My experience with the financial aid office was not a great one. The financial aid office tried to help me find options in how to pay for school but their involvement was very limited.

Career Services: Career Center Is Okay – While in school my chances of getting a job in the field are slim because of the competition that students have against eachother. Students with a higher education level will have better chances of working with the Career Center than students who have just enrolled in classes.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Flexible Classes/Curriculum – The only classes I have taken on so far were all general requirements. Although all the classes were general requirements the teachers learned what degree path you were focusing on and helped you hone in on the skills that would better you in that field.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: Class Registration/Workload – The class registration process was so simple! The registrar is extremely helpful and knowledgeable in all the classes and the best classes for you to take for you career path. The workload during my freshman year was challenging but workable. The teaches know how challenge you without giving you an un-finishable workload.

Academic Experience: Helpful Classes – Since I have only completed my freshman year, I will be starting classes in my major this fall. From what I have heard, they do a wonderful job preparing you for a life in the Graphic Design career. As far as my classes from freshman year, they were all wonderful! Each and every class was centered around an artistic lifestyle and thought process.

Campus Resources: There Isn't Much – The actual building is decent. And the library is sufficient. But this is a really small school. Other than the library, other facilities open to students are two small lounges with vending machines, and an art gallery opened some of the times.

Campus Resources: Decent Amount, but Things Can Get Crazy – For such a small school (about 400-500 students), there are actually a lot of computers. There's a mac lab with about 6 computers, each with small scanners and a large scanner. And a library with pcs, for more of a general use or papers. Both have printers. Most days these are fine, but during finals or midterms it can get bad. There are also several classrooms equip with macs. The wireless network can get glitchy and slow, but often times it's fine. There are some deadzone though, that can get nerve-racking and sometimes the network just goes down.

Student Body: Not What Most People Expect in an Art School – The students at my school aren't what most people expect from an art school. The typical art student that most people think of are those kids who have a cigarette in one hand and coffee in the other, wearing "hipster" clothing and talking about how amazing they are.
Of course at my school, there are some students that are like that. But there are more who legitimately want a career in art. It's a diverse group of people, yet still unified in their interest in art

Career Services: This school has gone through 4 career advisors in 6 years. That's right, there's only one career service advisor for 500+ students. Makes sense, right? So of course she helped me locate an internship when I contacted her, right? NO. I was completely ignored while I was in school. Then, I heard from the new advisor after I graduated about some opportunities. So I sent her my updated information, and never heard back again. There has since been 1 or 2 more new advisors that I have not cared to talk to. I have since decided to take my future into my own hands and go back to a school that actually accomplishes what it promises. Seriously. WORST. SCHOOL. EVER.
